Yeah sure there are a lot of takes on the whole Shirakumo Lives/Aizawa Gets Nomu-fied thing but fuck it I’m throwing my hat in that ring now too

Some thoughts:

- Shirakumo still gets hit with debris in the battle with Garvey, but he’s just knocked out (leaving him with a gnarly scar on his forehead). When he comes to, he finds out that Aizawa beat Garvey, but was fatally injured in the process

- Mic and Shirakumo still open an agency after graduation. Things are a little rocky at first since they’re still not very good at the business side of things, but they want to see the plans they made together with Aizawa through to the end

- Their hero costumes will change over the years but the matching goggles/glasses are nonnegotiable

- They definitely still become teachers! Shirakumo is very serious about making sure the kids have a fighting chance in the industry like Aizawa is in-canon, BUT he’s much more upfront about it. Instead of the whole “you have no potential/expel and re-enroll students so they’ll take things seriously” thing Aizawa has, Shirakumo is more like “Look I’m going to do everything I can to help you become the best heroes you can be but there’s a very real chance that you won’t live to adulthood in this industry and I’m not gonna send you out there if I don’t think you can make it”

- Meanwhile, Nomuzawa. Personality and role wise he’s basically the same as Kurogiri, but some bits of Aizawa shine through. More focused on logic/practicality, and he was a bit more strict with Shigaraki while raising him. His tantrums are easier to deal with when you can just cancel out his quirk, after all

- He has a gorgon quirk on top of his own to A. give him more eyes and B. let him paralyze people who aren’t effected by erasure. Should probably give his quirks some weakness/limit though, he’d be kinda op this way

- In place of warp gate he either has Johnny’s quirk, or just keeps a Johnny on hand.

- When Shirakumo and corpseman aizawa meet at the USJ Shirakumo doesn’t recognize him but does see that his quirk functions similarly to erasure and that blocking his vision is the way to stop him. He still gets the shit beat out of him by the other Nomu, though

I’m gonna go into detail about this eventually, but I want it on the record that people have got Hizashi and Aizawa’s roles mixed up, mainly that Aizawa is the “logical one” while Hizashi is “emotional.”

Think about it; for a man that’s supposed to be so “rational,” Aizawa is completely run by his emotions and not logic. Again I’ll go into depth later, but all his actions are charged by emotional responses; like jumping in to fight the villains at the USJ arc. Logically, Eraser should have stayed with the kids while Thirteen used his quirk to handle the large group. However, he wasn’t thinking about that; he was thinking, “There’s a threat that wants to hurt the kids, I ain’t letting that happen.” That’s an emotional response.

Hizashi, meanwhile, is the only one willing to put his feelings aside and think logically. Like when he pointed out that there was a traitor among them. Hizashi was the ONLY one in that room willing to face the facts on that subject. It was an unpleasant subject as no one wanted to admit that a student they loved or a fellow teacher could hurt them, but Hizashi knew that for the safety of everyone, it was a subject that needed to be faced. (Shame his personality was too passive to push it.)

Don’t get me wrong; Hizashi is emotional (he’s a Cancer sign, it’s a given), however, he’s a mature crab that knows how to put those emotions to work and when to set them aside. (Again, more on this later. I wanna go into depth about how well Hizashi’s birthday fits him.)

I dunno, this is just a quick something I wanted to share.

I really like this take- because while I do love Aizawa, canon Aizawa is still a good bit different than fanon Aizawa. Yamada is so much more than fanon often givens him credit for, he’s so complex in canon and fanon just equates him to his loud blond stereotype. Which while is perfectly fine if that’s the content you want to consume- it’s not the true or only aspect to Yamada and it’s so sad that so many shove him into that box.

Anyway I have more thoughts on this but I’ll save them for another ramble- thanks op!
