minors in a fandom to a ship between people that have a huge age gap: we do not ship this ‍♀️!! This is illegal

minors in a fandom to a character who is played by someone in their late 30s-40s: That is the hottest mf I’ve ever seen and we are getting married even though there’s a 25 year age gap

favorite character : *has been alive for a suspiciously long time in the series*

People who love this character and have been emotionally scarred from past favorite characters’ deaths: that fact that you’re alive is a miracle…jus stay alive, that would be enough

oh, another popular tragic mlm ship? look me in the eye and tell me they’re not just another achilles and patroclus. another merlin and arthur. another sirius and remus. another neil and todd. tell me it’s not just another golden boy and his seemingly mundane best friend. look me in the eye-

[I……….tried to write something for Sirius & Harry Saturday, and I ended up with Remus & Neville instead? I don’t know what this is, but I’m tossing it into the void anyway.]

“Harry James.” Remus pinched the bridge of his nose. “Whatare you doing?”

“Lookin’ for skel’tons,” Harry said cheerfully, throwing a trowelful of mud over his shoulder and nearly hitting Remus in the knees with it.

“Skeletons?” Remus repeated, momentarily distracted from the sight of his mud-covered child by the nonsensical answer.

this is a little contribution to @impishtubist’s harry/sirius saturday that I’ve been dying to participate in!! this was supposed to be fluffy and sweet then I blinked and somehow there’s a little bit of angst. but it’s wolfstar-raising-harry-and-teddy where sirius never went to azkaban bc f that!!

Sirius kicks out the snow from his boots before walking inside, a childhood habit born of self-preservation that he still hasn’t quite been able to break, even decades later.

He sighs when Harry bursts past him, yelling as he goes, sprinting straight through the doorway without a care for the muddy ice tracks he’s leaving in his wake. “Moony! Teds! Come look at what we got!”

“Harry, take off your–” The messy head of hair doesn’t pause for a second, so Sirius pulls his wand from his boot and huffs out a quick cleaning charm, perhaps cast a bit too powerfully in his exasperated state.

“Ahhh!” Harry has almost reached the stairs and Sirius watches, panic curling in his gut, as he starts to slip on the shining, newly slick wood floors. Sirius flicks his wand again, just as Harry falls straight backwards, landing on his butt with a surprised grunt.

There’s a commotion from above and Teddy giggles and claps his hands loudly, bundled in Remus’ arms as they look down at them from the landing.

“Are you alright, Harry?” Remus calls, and there’s maybe a hint of amusement in his voice, but Sirius can’t hear it. Can’t hear anything over the blood pounding in his chest, the high-pitched ringing in his ears.

His face feels numb. All of his senses are zeroed in on the shape of a boy lying flat on his back. He blinks rapidly, and sees another boy, fallen to the ground. Another boy with dark skin and messy, jet-black hair; gangly limbs sprawled out–flat on his back.

On his back and unmoving. Another boy Sirius had loved more than anyone, and was too late to save.

His fault. Always, always, his fault.

Sirius drops the bundle of parcels in his arms and rushes over to crouch next to Harry, vision blurry, wand shaking in his hand as he chokes out every healing spell he can think of.

I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m–

Sirius doesn’t realize he’s saying the words out loud until a warm hand presses softly onto his forearm.

“Padfoot?” Harry says quietly. His glasses are knocked sideways on his nose and he’s frowning at Sirius in confusion. “It’s okay, Pads, I’m fine. It’s–what’s wrong? Why are you–”

Green eyes. Bright green eyes are looking back at him, not hazel. It’s not the same. It’s not.

Sirius forces out a breath, heart still racing. “You’re okay?” he asks, patting down every inch of Harry’s body looking for broken bones or bruised skin or the faint electricity of a deadly curse thrumming under skin. “You’re sure?”

“Yes, I–” Harry’s brow furrows and he looks past Sirius. “Moony, what’s wrong?”

“Nothing’s wrong, Harry.” Remus’ voice, soft and familiar, sounds behind him. An arm brushes against Sirius’ back and he leans into it, settling his weight against the solid warmth. “Sirius is just worried you hurt yourself. Right, love?”

Sirius nods, blinking rapidly, and brushes the hair back from Harry’s forehead, pressing a hard kiss to the pale scar that runs above his eyebrow. Harry squirms a little, but tightens his grip on Sirius’ forearm, squeezing it softly.

“You promise nothing hurts?” Sirius asks, pulling back to inspect his face.

“Pretty sure the extra-strength Cushioning Charms you both hit me with did their job,” he says with a laugh, and the knot in Sirius’ chest unravels slowly. “Maybe I’ll take a nice nap right here!” Harry kicks his legs out and falls back down, one flailing arm landing in Sirius’ lap.

“Haz, you fall!” Teddy squeals in delight, wiggling against Remus’ chest until he’s released and stands wobbly on the floor. “So fun! Like this!”

Teddy’s tongue pokes out and his tiny face scrunches up in effort. He shifts until he has messy black hair and bright green eyes, and then promptly slips across the floor and throws himself backwards.

Three voices shout out spells in unison.

It’s immediately obvious which one gets there first.

Two widened, identical pairs of green eyes stare in surprise.

Sirius snorts loudly and all remaining panic dissolves with the scene in front of him. “I guess we know that Flitwick still hasn’t changed the First Year’s curriculum after all these years.”

“Of course not,” Remus says mildly. “Excellent work, Harry.”

Harry grins, wand still raised, and tilts his head to admire his handiwork.

Teddy’s hovering about three feet off the ground, chubby legs kicking idly through the air. He hiccups and his hair turns a shocking blue color.

“So,” Harry says, pulling himself from the ground with an exaggerated groan. “Can we show you what we got now?”
