@chaos-companys Angstpril 2022: Day 20 - Searching
tw for nightmares, animal attack, and mentioned character death
The twin moons of Lothal shone bright across the plains, casting the night in a blue-ish tinge. A wind blew that rustled the grasses. High up, in the mountains, it was fierce, cold. Yet Ezra Bridger still stood outside, pacing.
Something was wrong. Something was missing.
The leather of his clothes kept him warm to some degree, but there was a coldness inside. An emptiness of sorts.
Kanan. He needed to find Kanan.
Image description: it’s a drawing of Ahsoka Tano as a Sith. She’s wearing all black with gold jewelry and accents on her clothes. One of her arms is raised and a Sith holocron is hovering above her hand.
self-indulgent monday✨
This Ahsoka design is perfection and you didn’t have to go so hard with that angle but you did and it looks so fricking awesome
It’sStar Wars season again! I’m a huge fan of Ahsoka Tano. She’s got a lovely character arc in Clone Wars, and seeing her in Rebels? Dang. Every so often I poke around the space between these two series and see what she was like.
(yes, I know there’s an Ahsoka Tano YA novel. Let me have my version. She kills more people.)
She had thought she was doing pretty well for herself, all things considered, until the man at the station had held out his hand to help her down from the shuttle. He was a perfectly lovely Kiffarian, with blue tattoos cresting across his shoulders and peeking out at her from beneath his dark hair. She had pressed her hand into his and returned his smile, and as they parted? Those old words, that old familiar litany? It sprung from her tongue as if it had been lying in wait.
The Kiffarian gave her a weak smile as dropped her hand and backed away, his eyes suddenly anywhere and everywhere else. It was a familiar reaction; she had done the same herself when she had run up against the devout. It didn’t matter how they were devout, no. The galaxy had a thousand different religions, and all they had in common was compliance. But her faith had been different, hadn’t it? Her faith had been strong enough to move mountains, crush starships—
“May the Force be with you,” she said again, softly, as the Kiffarian vanished into the crowd.
I’m curious as to when exactly a large subgroup of our generation simultaneously went “screw grimdark, give me the most heartbreaking, devastating stories you can fabricate, but disguise it as lighthearted children’s entertainment so that it looks cute and fun but you start sobbing if you squint at it too hard”
