#star wars sequel trilogy
Honestly, with finn and poe, I want to be mad, but I can’t. Sure, it would be amazing if they were canon, and it would have been monumental if they had been the ones to break a stigma that is still surrounding movies today. But the love is there. You can choose to see it or you can choose not to, but it will always be there. Both actors played that shit to their best abilities for what they were allowed to do, and the words they’ve spoken about the matter are as big. John and Oscar don’t brush it under the rug. Oscar fought for it on and offscreen and never once gave into the “no, that would be cool, but Poe is straight in the movies” that other actors would have. Whether we got an onscreen kiss or not, it doesn’t take much of a scratch to the surface to see what was meant to be there.
Canon would have been better, but we can always look at the progress these two have made towards it.
ok ummm

Il materiale di origine: ET Online / John Boyega talks about receiving support from his Star Wars castmates Oscar Isaac, Daisy Ridley and Kelly Marie Tran after what he said in a GQ interview.
As popular as The Karate Kid movies were, they weren’t nearly as big as Star Wars. Nothing is. But with the remake-reboot trend along with the 80s nostalgia that has plagued Hollywood, something like Cobra Kai is like a jackpot waiting to be hit.
It could have been one of those soft reboots where the old cast comes back to usher in the new heroes and fades into the existence and we’re left with a soulless cash grab of a series that has nothing other than references carrying it. We’ve had FAR too many of those – Ghostbusters Afterlife, Terminator whatever, Jurassic World, Charlie’s Angels, Jumanji, Picard…
And of course, our favorite – the Star Wars sequel trilogy. Boy did this thing not understand the assignment at all. But Cobra Kai does and it shows us that you can absolutely bring back a 30-year-old franchise to life without destroying its legacy. In fact, it adds to it.
does anyone else really really miss that small period of time after TFA came out but before we had information about TLJ when everyone was excited about finn, rey and poe’s stories and we all made jokes about kylo being a knockoff vader but most of the fandom was also genuinely interested in seeing how his character would go because there were like a million other directions it could’ve gone and we actually expected something new. and everyone was shipping either finn/rey or finn/poe or finn/rey/poe and it was (for the most part) light hearted fun in the fandom and r*ylo was largely considered a Bad Ship. people were making cute fics and art with finn/rey/poe as the light side trio and kylo/hux/phasma as the dark side trio. we were so excited to find out more about finn and rey’s backstories and to see them grow as characters together. it all felt so refreshing and new. dont even get me started on the excitement about luke coming back….
Yes, those were wonderful, wonderful times, and I was so happy in the SW fandom back then. But LF couldn’t let us have nice things I guess…

Rey of sunshine
I’ve never watched the Star Wars sequel trilogy but I heard people hated it so here are a few things I would’ve changed to make the movies more sellable.
- The Stormtrooper guy (Finn, I think???) is not a Jedi in canon. Here, he’s still not a Jedi technically. However, he keeps a lightsaber. Instead, he acts like some kind of non-Force Jedi for two movies (also the main protagonist) until bam! He has Force powers in the third. Weak Force powers, but Force powers still.
- Rey is still Palpatine’s daughter (I only found out via memes) but it’s revealed in the first movie. The second movie would have people not trust her due to her lineage and she struggles with her identity. She eventually accepts that she’s got evil blood in her but that she can be good regardless.
- Kylo Ren’s backstory: He was part of Luke’s students from a young age. However, he was tempted by the Dark side and slowly corrupted while under Luke’s tutelage. His betrayal ended with him murdering one of Luke’s students and running away.
- Luke is still the hermit guy but his reason is now more enforced. He felt that he failed Kylo so he left, depressed and everything. Rey, while still struggling with the fact that she’s the grandbaby of the devil, empathizes with him. And helps him get his confidence back.
- The rest of Luke’s students end up being Jedi! But they kinda had to finish their studies without Luke to teach them. One of the students-now-Jedi (idk how SW names work so I’m calling him Rook Ma-Tau) is searching for Kylo Ren to avenge the death of his fellow.
- Rook dies when he fights Kylo. The reason being is that he didn’t have the heart in him to kill Kylo because he still cared for him like a brother. Rook helped train Finn a bit and in turn, Finn takes his lightsaber after giving Luke’s old one to Rey.
- Idc about the handsome pilot guy so yeah.
- Luke is also dead this entire time! The reason Luke couldn’t continue teaching was not only because of depression but because he was dead. He’s just a Force ghost now and refuses to move on until Kylo is redeemed.
- The cute Asian girl (idk her name) is still Finn’s love interest. She’s a mechanic and came from a large aristocratic family with many siblings. She left because she didn’t want to stay in their shadow and also because her family has ties to the bad guys. Finn and Rey team up to save her when her family kidnaps her. They also topple the family while we’re at it, which helps the good guys.
Idk anything about the rest of the movies so yeeeeeah…
