My poor apple boy looks more like a buck-toothed Link now. Annie would have pointy ears under her bonnet too. I see them more tied with old timey fae lore.

Johnny’s summoned with that glowy appleseed, and controlled with one or two marionette controllers, though he has an issue with passiveness, and tends to respond to the slightest threat from miss as-yet-unnamed witch here.

At some point witch-lady will make Johnny go all berserker-mode on the folk trying to rescue him, and he won’t like that one bit. Well, internally.

I need to draw Edison’s bull mode. Any excuse to draw bovine!

A couple of protagonists from the appleseed story, which I’ll now tag as pocket full of rye. I’ve decided these summoned spirits are not the historical figures themselves, but embodied ideals. So the gal here is a vague nod to Annie Oakley and other sharpshooters of the west. The actual Annie definitely wasn’t as frilly as this, but dangit I like decorative clothing. It’s also a smallish nod to the pink Annie from the SNES game Wild Guns.

The fella is a young warlock (Edison) that crossed the antagonist (previously mentioned witch), and as a result, was trapped in his animal shape (texas longhorn), mind-wiped and kept among the witch’s herd of cattle for several years, up until Annie freed him and restored his memories. He keeps his ear tag to remain focused on ending the witch, though Annie is only interested in breaking the bonds on her fellow spirit and close friend, Johnny.

Another story I had involved legend characters from the tall tales setting, or something close. It’d be one of the few times I’d include a modern setting, as nothing bores me more than every day locations with every day humans. But! It would begin and center around the daughter of a dairy farmer who’d practice witchcraft in private. At some point she’d learn how to summon certain spirits, or she’d stumbled upon a relic relating to western folklore, and call up Johnny Appleseed himself. Well, I haven’t decided if it would be actually him, or some embodiment of his ideals. In any case, usually only druids would summon him to help regrow a recently charred forest, but the witch has other plans.

Johnny would be a kinda’ aw-shucks/Fixit Felix character, and politely try to unsummon himself, but this witch’s relic keeps him around, and allows her to switch on a chaotic state in which he cannot deny her commands. The two of them wreak havoc in some manner, likely in the name of justice, and then we’d introduce the protagonist(s), which I’m not sure of yet. I wanted to bring in some representation of Annie Oakley and/or Pecos Bill, and respective witches and warlocks that summon them willingly.

I have a vague image of Johnny’s witch in my head, and I’ll scribble her up at some point.

Canon to the Mcu, dreams are your variants doing whatever

So what has my variants been up to (all dreams I can remember)

  1. A furby empire attacked an old house they where touring when they where like six
  2. They where running through a very dark woods with their two best friends
  3. They got outted at school cause a kid found their tumblr
  4. I worked at a pet saloon but only from 6-8 am and my parents had to take me in and it pissed them off
  5. My mom chocked my out with my hoodie
  6. It was a dystopian world and me and a bunch of other kids where camping out high up in a building. I was like a leader
  7. I was at a summer camp where my cabin mate had abusive parents. The cabin was yellow with lots of plants
  8. This is a long one, I was in my dads classroom before school, but it was me and girl and a guy. We convinced the girl to sing over the pa. I went outside to the parking lot and a conventionally attractive blonde opposite sex senior asked me in perverted ways if I was gonna date them next year, in real life I know this person and they would never. Next I was in a classroom and a sayter is roaming about, I lean out the window and ask, are you a sayter, ahh you didn’t call me mortal, you must be a clear sited one, pants appeared on him and he walked over, then my alarm went off
  9. I was stuck in a river for fifteen years, like a soul fish, I come out of said river and bricks and metals from the buildings come around me giving me a body. I head to my dads meat/barbecue plant. A majority of the workers are alseep, they’ve been alseep for fifteen years, not aging, some are fine with kids. We start working on getting the plant back up, I’m a bad thing to the local police force so one day when out and about with extended family we here police cars so they are trying to hide me.
  10. I’m a scientist, maybe not. But I’m part of an important experiment. Like really important. The numbers on the pages keep blurring off
  11. The world is cracking apart like ice age. We are all gonna die. I’m cussing up a storm and still being told to watch my language. My and my family had a falling out but I wanna say good bye. They are in a Greek like pavilion I’m trying to get there but the earth cracks apart. People are cheering every time it happens a bit more and enjoying their last sun set. I notice I have my dads golden watch. I see a kid from my chemistry class and through it at him and tell him to please take it to my dad. He says no he wants to watch the sunset and throughs it back

~ The Call ~

So this is just a story idea that me and @sunlitscrib have been bouncing around and are no where near actually writing but I’m really hype about the idea so I thought I would share it with you guys!

A pair of twins are born in a village that has been the center of a prophecy as old as time. One of them is the chosen one and it has been told that they would be the one to save the world’s magic. So as the two grow up eventually the village picks a twin that they believe to be the chosen one. They praise them and adore them and put a lot of pressure on them to be great while completely ignoring the other twin. The ignored twin is resentful of their sibling for this and distances themselves from them assuming that their sibling enjoys the attention.

The ignored twin is the main character of our story and little did they know they wouldn’t be envying their twin for long. After their sibling dies in a horrible accident it turns out that the ignored twin was the chosen one all along. But because of how they had been treated growing up they absolutely refuse to save anyone. After being practically abandoned from the time they were young and ignored for their sibling the world could burn for all they cared.

Although they do feel guilty for the resentment they held for their sibling. After it is revealed that they are the true chosen one they realize how much pressure their twin had on them and well they wish they had been their for their sibling more. Sadly now it’s too late. But they’re determined not to end up like their twin and decide that they’ll leave the village, avoiding everyone who knows about the prophecy. They’ll be just another regular person like they were before their twin died, at least that’s what they thought.

But sadly for them fate can’t be avoided that easily.

Dream last night:

Had a dream that kind of felt like it either had a group of 3 - 5 vampires or spies (or something like that). MC of the dream ended up falling for one of them. She tried taking a picture of him with her phone, played it off when it made a noise as fidgeting with something else or changing the volume or sounds.

(For some reason, it didn’t save the picture.)

They ended up taking her home. A bit of a sad goodbye, and she actually believes it’s the last she’ll see of them.

I can’t recall if there was a goodbye scene between the two or not, but I wanted to say yes. Then the group leaves.

(He does like our MC too.)

Fast forward and MC is just living life. She still thinks about the one she fell for, but she is still moving on with her life.

A party of some sort occurs, and MC had put a lot of work into putting it together. She gets a shock when the group returns and shoes up at the party. Happy reunion there.

I think there was a bit of a message about your value isn’t determined by what you can do or give to others that they shared with MC?

Either way, happy end. And a good ending for MC and the one.

And I swear to you that I keep thinking that the one/ML looked something like this:

Or

… but I can’t remember exactly what.

Writing Prompt #45

“And what about honour? Have you forgotten about that in your fancy little plans and movements, or have you simply removed it?”

“The whole world has at this point!”

dragon-in-a-fez:

I’m fucking dying someone please make a Pink Panther-style crime comedy about this

So, this is something that has rattled around in my mind for a long time. It’s mostly common knowledge at this point that when a parent, usually mothers, see their child in danger they can go into a state that allows them to go far beyond the normal strength and pain thresholds of their body. There are stories of parents lifting whole cars and ripping the muscles off their bones to save their kids from danger. This is where my idea comes in.

Do quirks work in the same way in the BNHA world? Would parents be able to activate their quirks far beyond their normal strength in order to save their kids? A father with a slight elasticity quirk stretching 30 feet to create a bridge for his child during an earthquake. A mother with a warming quirk, normally only getting hot enough to be slightly uncomfortable to touch, being able to melt through a car wreck to release their baby from the back seat.

And if this is how it works, wouldn’t it be an interesting idea to see what would happen if a certain green haired boy got in a tough spot with his mother nearby. Imagine Inko Midoriya being first hand witness to a battle with her son on the losing side. Deku getting knocked to the ground and right as the killing blow is about to be struck, something in Inko would snap. Her slight levitation quirk being amplified to something akin to a wall of force or being yanked by a bungie cord tied to a truck. The villain being slammed into walls or just flung hundreds of feet into the air then slammed back down like a meteor spike. The villain would be down for the count and Inko would follow as soon as she saw Izuku was okay.

The consequences would be similar to quirk fatigue, like Endeavor over heating or Bakugo’s wrists hurting, but cranked up to 11. Inko would likely have be hospitalized for some kind of seizure due to the psychic nature of her quirk for some time. It would also be interesting if these types of quirk usage would be treated differently that illegal usage since they are more of an instinct to the parents.

This could also be a fun idea to explore with the other parent figures in the BNHA world, like how Toshinori or President Mic would be impacted by parental instinct quirk enhancement (PIQE?). I would add Aizawa to that list, but we have already seen him in those situations and his quirk can’t really be enhanced in any real way.
