hades fell in love with the wicked witch of the west and also was that guy from ally mcbeal and we were supposed to take that 100% seriously
maleficent got impregnated by a mystery man and laid an egg, out of which hatched a human baby. they went to find her dad and never showed up in the show again. we find out in the last episode that her dad was zorro and nothing else is mentioned of this

i simply wish writers would emphasize jason and talia’s platonic relationship so ppl in this fandom can get their heads out of their ass about their relationship
like yea winick fucked up in the end with talia and her characterization but holy shit i’d rather ppl actually try to salvage the relationship than crapping all over it in order to take agency away from jason or saying “talia always been evil and manipulated jason into becoming a demon head even tho that makes no fucking sense lolz ”

I actually have so many feelings about this. Talia’s primary character motivation is consistently LOVE. Though she initially saved Jason out of love for Bruce, she quickly came to care for him in his own right.
The shift she made from “your father mourns you” to “he’s got a new robin and you are unavenged” is so interesting because on one hand yes, this is a sign that she is now too attached to Jason to let him go. On the other, bearing in mind Talia’s own worldview, she likely 100% believes that Bruce has let Jason down. Why should Bruce get Jason back? Talia is surrounded by cold, prideful men who can’t prioritize their children - she can do it better.
All of this is put into even sharper perspective with the inclusion of Damian into canon. Talia’s already lost one son to an inadequate patriarch. She still risks the wrath of her father, who has control over Damian, to put Jason in the pit and smuggle him out of the League. That’s love! That’s brave! It is, technically, also kidnapping once she willfully keeps an underage Jason from Bruce.
But that’s the interesting thing about Talia’s character. Her grey morals and her loving motivations are not mutually exclusive, but go hand in hand. She is in no small part responsible for helping create Red Hood, but that was never about punishing Bruce. She thought, every step of the way, that she was helping and empowering Jason, and Jason himself would probably agree.
