#transgender discrimination

Stand up against “Don’t Say Gay” laws that several states within the USA are trying to push through- they’re insidious.

It’s way beyond LGBTQ erasure. It’s more than than isolating LGBTQ students, teachers, and other members of society and putting them at risk of discrimination, violence, suicide, and disenfranchisement to the fringes of society. “Don’t Say Gay” laws are designed not to protect children from “inappropriate material”, they’re actually a direct effort to prevent the educational process necessary to change society to end discrimination and violence, particularly Transgender discrimination. Only education at a young age can achieve this goal.

Something I said last year in a post about the racial hate that’s been flaring up here, discusses the process:

“Racism, just like homophobia, is going to take decades and decades to be reduced by education and creating new standards. We can’t flip a switch and make everyone’s deeply rooted beliefs change. It’s learned, passed down generation to the next, from family and community.(https://mysterioususerx.tumblr.com/post/646005364447428608/two-weeks-ago-i-answered-an-ask-about-why)

Eliminating LGBTQ history and other educational programs and content stops this process dead in its tracks at a key critical moment in our history. It’s an effort to stop Transgender rights from happening.

STAND UP AGAINST “DON’T SAY GAY”! Our future and survival are depending upon it! And this goes way beyond the United States: as one of the most influential countries on the planet, we’re setting global precident too.

Update on the Better Business Bureau situation-

I’ve been pursuing reporting in-house to them the discrimination that I’ve experienced, for them to address it, and receiving intense hostility and discrimination from both their state and international levels when I’ve attempted to do so. It’s shocking.

At this point, I keep getting manipulative doublespeak, down speaking, and hostile denials of court admissible documented evidence of everything…trying to make me go away.

I’m continuing to pursue it, because it’s anti-Transmasc, LGBTQ discriminatory, and corruption. If they don’t get their shit straightened out, I’ve informed them that I’ll take it to the press- they’ve been under major press investigations radar for a few years now for shady business practices (retaining listings of business safety “A” ratings, though the businesses had lost against customers in court and found at fault, solely because the BBB is getting their pockets lined by the businesss via membership dues). It’s very likely that the press would have interest in what evidence I have to present.

A small victory-

Remember the discriminatory hell going on from my spring water company that was destroying my credit, that went to both the better business bureau (who also discriminated against me), and then the Attorney General?

I just won, and they’ve apologized.

The situation is unstable and still being worked on, so I’m unsure if I will continue as a customer or not yet. I can tell you I’m very burned and wary, but they’re the only game in town, and Amazon isn’t a stable source for spring water in the amounts I need, especially with hurricane season approaching. Whatever is going to happen though, I’ll know in a day or so.

Newly passed Gender Expression, Gender Identity Protection Bill will amend the New York State’s Human Rights Law to protect all binary gender, nonconforming employees, and transgender employees from discriminatory treatment. And the law also amends the New York penal law to protect gender identity and expression in the list of statuses that are protected under the New York’s hate crime laws.

ACLU: “Attorney general Paxton’s opinion and Governor Abbott’s letter have no legal effect, can’t change Texas law, and can’t override the constitutional rights of Texas families. No court anywhere in the country has ever found that gender-affirming care can be considered child abuse.”

IMPORTANT THREAD - PLEASE SHARE!!!

“to parents of trans kids across the country, if i can recommend one thing to work on today (besides hugging your babies harder than ever) it’s to start building a "safe folder”

a safe folder contains important items like your child’s medical and legal records (vaccination records, court documents/passports/etc showing their legal name if it’s been changed).

also include letters from trusted people like neighbors, your child’s principal, clergy, etc that talk about what a wonderful parent you are.

photos (including self portraits your children have drawn!) that document your trans child’s transition are also helpful. if you have a social media account & are considering deleting, download all your pics and posts first to use as evidence of their persistent gender identity.

one year my son drew me the LOVELIEST mother’s day card. he told me how much he loved me & how safe he felt when he was with me. the 1st thing i thought was “this is the sweetest thing he’s ever made me.” the 2nd (heartbreaking) thing i thought is “this goes in the safe folder.”

include report cards, too. medals/awards that they’ve earned from their accomplishments.

i pray you will never need to rely on your safe folder. but if someone calls CPS on you for doing nothing more than loving your transgender child and supporting them in the ways that they need, then you have evidence to back you up that YOU ARE A GOOD PARENT.

it will be okay. hug your babies, vote these douchecanoes out of office, and stay strong. love you.“
