incredible the amount of transphobes just pulling statistics out of thin fucking air. “the latest ipsos poll shows 60% of labor-supporting women support katherine deves” the last ipsos poll was published over two weeks ago before the controversy started. “80/85/whatever number they’re using in this tweet% of australians support deves” actually polls show 78% agree they deserve the same rights and 66% want increased access to healthcare for trans kids funny how I can quote an actual poll and they can’t

made these rad icons !!! In order: ace, aro, lesbisn1, lesbisn2, trans, bi

[ID: seven icons of digital drawings of a manual wheelchair user in pride flag color schemes. the person is a silhouette with one hand on a push rim and squiggles in a secondary color over the base color of their body. the colors correspond to the asexual, aromantic, pink lesbian flag, non-binary, blue/purple/pink lesbian flag, trans, and bi flags. attribution reads @larsaparilla in black text. end ID.]

The lesbian one isn’t even the lesbiam colours, and the rest, except for bi, are fake.

Regular reminder terfs are not welcome on my blog.

Content and trigger warnings: transphobia (transmisogyny, outdated use of the word “h*rmaphrodite”), homophobia, islamophobia, ableism, death wishes, covid denialism

I know there has been already a Google doc on this person but, frankly, it got really sloppy towards the end and hasn’t been updated in over a year. Meanwhile, Roketto continues to be in fandom spaces and spew her hate on places like Reddit. Some screenshots have been taken as recently as October 2021. Aside from names, nothing is censored here. View at your own risk and heed the content/trigger warnings above.

I took it upon myself to make my own doc (with a bit of help from my friends) with specific incidents and proof that she has been hateful towards other people who think differently to her.

If you come across Roketto, just block her. Don’t message her, don’t provoke her, just don’t acknowledge her.

john mulaney can’t make jokes about jewish women since he divorced his wife so now he’s doing transphobia. so brave of him

mulaney had dave chappelle open for his comedy show, chapelle told transphobic jokes, they hugged at the end, then mulaney told the crowd, “thanks for not being violent”. and there isn’t any footage of this, since the audience had their phones locked away. he’s so annoying

Republican leaders and pundits spread a fucking 4chan rumor that the Robb Elementary shooter was a trans person.

Paul has since deleted this tweet. But since he does not care that he probably just ruined a transgender person’s life, of course he’s made no public apology. Well, not last I checked.

Also the 4chan person that pushed it literally said he knew that person had no involvement in it but wanted to get them bullied and hopefully lead to them committing suicide.

These are the people that republicans push conspiracy theories from.

[Image ID: a screenshot of a tweet (from May 24, 2022) from user oneunderscore_ reading “This false “shooter was trans" rumor going around the far-right is from a 4chan thread that links to a completely uninvolved person on Reddit who is still alive, doesn’t live in Texas, and obviously had nothing to do with the shooting.” With the tweet is a screenshot of a tweet from user DrPaulGosar, which reads “We know already fool. It’s a transsexual alien named Salvatore Ramos. It’s apparently your kind of trash.” DrPaulGosar is himself quote tweeting a deleted tweet. End ID]

A trans girl in Texas was attacked after this. https://www.losangelesblade.com/2022/05/25/texas-trans-girl-assaulted-over-gop-lies-about-uvalde-shooting/

i´m just tired transphobes have now resorted to blame trans folk when a cis man is violent.

No, we didn´t do it, it was one of you bastards, it´s all on you!

Okay. So I went to see John Mulaney at Red Rocks. There was a surprise opener.

It was Dave Fucking Chapelle.

The second he came on stage, I was scared. By the time he was done, I thought I was going to throw up. My sister actually left and had a breakdown.

I don’t have a video (phone locks) but here’s as exact a transcript as I can manage:

TW AHEAD: transphobia, ableism, implied rape, implied bestiality, racism, sexual topics

* I had a special come out a little while ago.

* The people who got upset by it, I guess they didn’t listen all the way until the end. Because I didn’t have a problem with trans people. I really didn’t.

* But I do now!! (Cue uproarious laughter)

* And there was such a backlash. I mean, an uproar. And now I can’t tell jokes about transgender people ever again. And I won’t…ON TV

* If I were to tell my producers “hey, I identify as Chinese”

* And then I came in [offensive Ching Chong impression] and the one Chinese guy there was like, this isn’t right.

* Or what if I were sent to prison. And I’d say, no, man. I’m a woman. I identify as a woman. Im going to woman’s prison. And guess the first thing I’d do when I got in there??

* “Yeah, you bitches better do my laundry or I’m gonna…”

* To a disabled girl in the front row:

* So does that dog actually help with anything or just keep you company?

* Do you think if you put a little peanut butter down there he’d…yeah, I bet he would. He’d help you out. You ever put a little peanut butter down there? You ever done that?

* Can he pick stuff up? Like, can he up pick beer bottles? He can? I’ll give you 700 dollars for that dog. Right now.

* Later, to 2 girls in the audience: hey, you girls? Boys? Does it even matter anymore?

This transcript does not include jokes comparing Ukraine to Vietnam, jokes about Russia’s ineffectiveness (like he wants them to succeed??) or John Mulaney’s post-set comments about Dave being one of his best friends.

Tl;dr: I was forced to see Dave Chapelle. His jokes included comparing transgender people to racists and rapists. He also encouraged a disabled person in the audience to force her service dog to perform oral sex on her.

Please reblog this if you can, for evidence of his continued transphobia. I’d really hate my Chapelle nightmare to be for nothing.

What the entire FUCK?

Let’s unpack this a little, though, specifically the ableist shit. Because I can already hear the apologists screaming, “he was just joking! He didn’t REALLY mean she should force her service dog to perform oral sex!”

And hey, that may be true, that probably wasn’t his intention, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t problematic. So, I mean, the baseline here is that he’s punching down, which is bad enough without being a starting point. Then you think about it for three more seconds and it’s clear that he just can’t look at a woman without sexualizing her. There’s the ableism of trivializing both her disability and her mobility aid. And the throwaway comment about buying the dog because it can pick up beer bottles is the icing on the cake – flaunting his wealth and joking about using it to take away accessibility tools from disabled people in order to be lazy, which low-key feeds into biases that disabled people face regularly about how if they just tried harder and weren’t so lazy, they wouldn’t be disabled. Obviously this woman had a service dog because she needed one. That’s how service dogs work. And, ngl, I’m also judging him for looking at this intelligent, loyal fuzzy friend that has been trained to support the needs of someone who struggles with certain tasks, and seeing it primarily as a tool he can exploit for his own whims.

This whole set sounds like a hot mess, and there’s a whole essay worth of a post about the transphobic shit in it, but targeting a disabled person just hit a nerve for me. Especially because the front row is often where some of the disabled seating is in a lot of venues, which doesn’t mean that the people who need those seats are willing to open themselves up as targets for comedians – especially when they didn’t sign up to see an opener who wasn’t on the bill.

[Image id: a thread of tweets by Zinna Jones posted on May 21st, 2022. The tweets read as follows:

“John Mulaney is dangerous to us for the same reason as Dave Chappelle, he’s offered the public a choice between the funny guy they know who makes them laugh, or disposing of trans people as valid beings with an interest in our own humanity

Putting people in that position is an invitation to allies to peel off because John Mulaney and Dave Chappelle and laughter are more real to them than trans people, that’s basically it.

Every time a well-liked person does this, they run the ally-peel-off process again. It’s a process of normalizing this attitude toward us and making the general public comfortable with treating us this way. It just models poor behavior toward us.

So whether or not his intentions were in the right configuration isn’t really relevant to this happening to our community as we try to continue existing in the world being built by these well-liked public figures.

It’s a completely flagrant and unnecessary way that cis society raises the stakes for liking trans people. It’s awful.

People want to like John Mulaney more than they want to like us.”

I want to boost everything this person has said and add on.

The reason I call myself a tomboy now, despite it being seen as a childish word and having had someone swear at me over it because ‘tHeRe’S nO suCh thInG as BoY thInGs anD giRL thIngS sHut uP’ is because I couldn’t call myself that or be like that when I was a kid. It was seen as a negative thing and I was already bullied enough. “Looking like a boy” was the worst thing that could happen to a girl.

And I’m not even 26 yet. We aren’t talking 30+ years ago, we are talking 2000s and even 2010s. It’s only since trans people have become more accepted in the past few years that gender nonconformity has too.

And the people who helped me accept my gender nonconformity more than anyone else? Were trans people. They taught me, “there’s nothing wrong with how you feel. You’re still a valid woman no matter what you wear, how you have your hair or what you’re into ❤️”

And don’t even get me started on how people treat gender nonconforming men. JK Rowling has a lot of nerve to be like “uwu boys can wear dresses and only us gendercrits accept that!” when she has, even in recent works, made femininity in men a negative trait, as well as making masculinity in women a negative trait also.

A lot of people still don’t accept gnc people even now. Just last year I had someone tell me they’d never let their daughter “dress like a boy”, and I’m always terrified to walk into a bathroom in case the next JK Rowling is in there, sees my gender expression and pepper sprays me or worse.

“There’s no such thing as boy things and girl things.” I don’t need to be told that and I’m sure 99% of trans people also don’t need to be told that. Tell that to the society that hates us both instead of actively encouraging that hate.

Gonna point out the og tweet thread is now full of terfs saying that life was better for gay people in the fucking 80s, that it was super easy for them to be a tomboy in the 70s and 80s and therefore it must have been that way for everyone, and that it was totally acceptable to be a gnc gay person in the 80s!

They’re rewriting history as we speak to try to argue trans acceptance is making it harder to be gay and gnc for youth than it was to be gay in the 80s. This is a blatant lie.

The fucking 80s??? As in, “aids crisis” 80s?? As in, “the government actively avoided funding research to help gay people” 80s????

Man I knew terfism was brain rot but I didn’t think it was thisbad.

Actually I’m not going to just keep this in the tags

i was wondering if anyone knew how to navigate a friend who has a transphobic “opinion”

this is all serious, not hypothetical, but i will be using different names because i love my friend dearly

my friend Vicky is a cis woman (detrans’d from male if that matters???? i dont think it does) who thinks that not wanting to date trans people because they are trans is valid and okay

this is an opinion that to me is transphobic, so we dont see eye to eye. but Vicky is very trans positive, and very supportive of mine and my parters transitions and trans rights and everything. but that one opinion really sticks out to me

i dont know how to navigate this with her at all. i dont want to give up on our friendship over just that, but i dont know if maybe it is worth losing a friend over. any advice would be helpful right now

Why do trans women always get blamed when formerly “female” products or spaces get turned to gender neutral or whatever, like radfems getting mad at trans women for some reason for the female symbol being removed from menstrural products…. trans women aren’t the ones that is supposed to be for you know…… not saying there is anything wrong with that symbol getting removed because there isnt…… like the people advocating for things advertised towards women to be gender neutral are transmasc people. trans women uh, actively want to be referred to as women. I feel like that should be obvious.

trans men: can we stop referring to abortion as a womens rights issue because it affects us too and it makes it difficult for us to get abortions when we need it

terfs: why did trans women do this? you cant even say women these days, all because of trans women

Comic about trans men in the health care system I made for magazine Ottar last autumn! Please note that it presents a Swedish perspective unless stated otherwise, as it is mostly based on Swedish studies. I would however argue that it has implications on the state of healthcare for trans people in other places as well. Thank you so much Hedvig for translating this!
