I kind of just want to talk about this page from American alien??? I honestly find it so amazing (regardless if this is still technical canon or what not) that Dick Grayson is the one who ended up inspiring superman to become a symbol hope, before knowing what him family ‘s symbol meant with that S, that this small child has had an impact on two of the greatest heroes and possibly helped shape the future. And then later, when robin wants to become his own hero, superman tells him the story of the Nightwings, which rebuild from destruction, probably the best way to describe Dick Grayson, and how they too are a symbol of hope in darkness. I just really like that cyclical structure it has?
I feel like whilst superman might be a symbol of hope to ordinary people, Dick Grayson, Nightwing is a symbol of hope to heroes.
People will reinvent eugenics in a #woke way sooner or later. The idea that people should not be attracted to the disabled because it’s fetishizing the power you have over them, the idea that dating someone short is at all comparable to pedophilia, the idea that no one outside of your own race can ever truly understand your experiences and therefore no one outside of your own race could ever truly love you… like, we’re not there yet, but every so often I’ll see a truly rancid take and think “Now why does that sound familiar?”

I think the fact that there still isn’t anything remotely resembling a normal supply that meets the demand for a product as big and mainstream as the Playstation 5 is a good indicator of just how fucked global supply chains and production are.
If it’s this bad for one of the mainstays of digital entertainment, just think about how much worse it is for the things that aren’t as visible but much more important to our economy.
I didn’t even know the PS5 even existed for like a solid year or more after launch. That’s bad.

Heavy equipment, farm implements, trucks, automobiles, they’re all struggling to get semiconductors and PCB’s.
Yep, I’m hearing a lot of stuff is out of stock with no idea when it’ll come back, across many industries. I don’t even want to know how much of our power and digital infrastructure is going to be running on a “let’s hope nothing breaks because we won’t be able to replace it anytime soon” basis.
Not really a fix but maybe at least this will reverse the trend of over-computerization of everything, especially cars.
I work for an electrical supply warehouse (we sell stuff to construction companies) and new parts are 6-8 months out
