#wip update
Yep I’m still alive haha… ugh T____T Sorry guys the pandemic hit pretty hard and it took awhile for me to even do anything remotely creative. It just felt like all my drive got sucked out these last few months. Now that I feel a little more up to it I’m trying to get the rest of the pages down to post em soon. Here’s a WIP.
I hope ypu’re all ok and staying safe in these fucked up times. And thank you to those who are still following me even though I practifally disappeared off the face of the earth since this whole thing began.

Fully-formatted,Winter Herald is ten pages shorter than Shadow Herald, and for some reason that bothers me. Glanced over their wordcounts and yep, WH is 71k and SH is 77k.
I might expand some of the sparser chapters and fiddle around with the formatting yet again. I’ve got ten days left, but I’m pretty familiar with my publishing process now, so I’m not really worried. The fact that I already had a perfectly serviceable Scribus template to steal from Shadow Herald cut down a lot of work time!
On a second thought, while I still have a few chapters I want to flesh out, I think I’ll leave the wordcount alone. The story works perfectly well with the amount I’ve given it. Besides, revamping the glossary, adding translations to the back, and working out the teaser chapter for Ember Warrior will all take time and contribute to the page count.
(And more pages means higher printing costs anyway, since I’m thinking about bringing back physical copies, so it’s smarter not to deliberately increase that if it’s not specifically to improve the story.)
Third thought while I’m refining the later chapters; I have come up with a good idea for a last-minute chapter that I want to add anyway.
I’m publishing this in under ten days and I’m just. Adding another chapter, yep. My process may be chaos, but it feels like very effective chaos this time around. I think this will actually be a more polished story than Shadow Herald was the first time around?

When Lan Wangji gives himself up to Wen Xu at the Cloud Recesses, he does not expect Wen Xu to take him as a warprize and turn him into his concubine. After escaping during the Qishan Wen indoctrination, he sacrifices himself once more to ensure Wei Wuxian’s safe return to Lotus Pier. Unfortunately, Wen Chao succeeds in taking over Lotus Pier anyway, claiming Wei Wuxian as his own warprize in revenge for killing his lover. Afterward, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji do their best to protect each other in the brief moments that they reunite, while working independently to take down Qishan Wen from the inside.

Still roughing things out. Attempted to make a wig. I had already tried gluing it to my scalp and I THINK it’ll work. It passed a few hair whip tests. That prosthetic nose might stay or go. I am unsure how I feel about it… contacts are ordered but they’re apparently getting lost in the mail.
Update: the nose is going! It was meh for the caharceter and I accidently ripped it with my fucking beautifully brutish goblin hands.

I read through one of my old stories yesterday that had been abandoned to the depths of my mind. And after reading it I thought, “Hey, this isn’t the worst thing ive ever written”
9.7.19 Finished a chapter and am already halfway through the next. I’m super jazzed! And I made some dinner to go with my writing mood.
Working on everyone’s precious cinnamon bun room’s conversions (I know i’ve been working on them for 4 years ok? plz don’t hate me)
I do not recommend working on like 50 objects at once, there’s a high chance 50 % of them will turn out borked and you’ll want to rip your hair out in frustration.

FINALLY AFTER 4 YEARS OF SEARCHING THIS MESH HAS A TEXTURE.

I swear, LIS has a really complicated story with textures, I’m still searching for textures of some of the Two Whales diner stuff.
Stupid me forgot that LIS uses several types of textures for each object on top of repositing in a weird way ;(

LOOK HOW CAN YOU IMPROVE THOSE PIXELATED TEXTURES!!! *cries tears of joy*
If you need help upscaling textures, I use this website. If you need a 1024 texture from a 256 one it IS doable, you need to upscale twice (first use the original texture, on the second time use the downloaded upscaled one). I’ve tried other websites as well, but they didn’t quite replicate the style of textures.
