#zoldyck family

LIVE

All things considered Killua is just SUCH a funny character.

Every time he meets someone they’re like “Oh my god .. a child of the Zoldyck family … He must’ve been through so much anguish … Torture and horrors the likes of which we’ll never experience … Every single moment of his life was filled with agony to nurture an insatiable bloodlust …. This child is a killer, a cold blooded monster who hasn’t had a shred of happiness … It’s a wonder he can smile at all”

And then the scene will cut to Killua hurling a pie in Gon’s face

Illumi design sketches

Maybe later I’ll change some details to make him closer to the anime/manga design but that’s enough for today

Game night at the Zoldyck’s

They play mario kart & Alluka completely destroys everyone
Milluki is a Rosalina main, and Killua plays as Cat Peach
Illumi never wins but the only time he’s close to getting first place he gets brutally blueshelled by Kalluto, and that’s the story of how Silva imposed the “Zoldycks can’t kill each other” rule

Most of the Milluki Zoldyck hate, from what I’ve seen, comes from straight up fatphobia. Deadass, if Milluki suddenly became skinny and looked like Illumi but had the same shitty personality, the whole narrative would be “Aww, he’s just a bratty bottom.” “Him just baby, he can’t help it .” “I wanna hug Milluki and give him the love he needs ” “Cute nerdy boy Milluki ”

Milluki would be the easiest Zoldyck to reform.

And I’m not talking about those “Milluki loses weight and is suddenly nice because he’s ‘handsome’ and not fat anymore” fanfics and fanarts. Who’s to say Milluki loathes himself because of his weight ? That’s just a dumb assumption, sure, he probably does get picked on by his family, mainly his parents and grandpa, because he’s the portly one out of all of them, but they also judge and criticize him for everything else, so I think his weight would be one of the last things on his mind.

But think about it, Milluki is actually really smart and skilled with computers, he’s basically the family IT guy whenever they have a problem that has something to do with technology.

But what if he decided to leave ? In my opinion, I don’t think his family would care, considering that they think he’s a failure as an assassin and a son. They wouldn’t miss him like they miss Killua. Sure they’d be losing their IT guy, but they could easily just hire someone for that role. And I’m not even sure they realized he actually left the house for the first time in years when he went to Yorknew City.

What if at that moment, when he came back, he realizes that nobody even noticed that he was gone and it inspires him to leave ? He realizes that they truly don’t care.

Milluki is young and talented, so he could easily get a job that can use his skills and could even enroll in a university and could get multiple degrees.

His personality is also shitty because he’s stuck in the house with people who don’t care about him or notice him, so he doesn’t really socialize as much as he should, so if he went and found some anime nerds with common interests (assuming they aren’t the shitty incel type who’d influence his already shitty personality) he could probably make fast friends that way. He’d be a little awkward at first but he’d eventually get into the rythm.

In eighth grade I once made a fanfic where Milluki simply just had to leave the house because there was an anime figure he wanted that could only be bought in stores and he bumped into a person who wanted the same figure and they just talked and got to know each other and it was the first person who acknowledged him and showed him kindness in years, so he was eager to get away from his family and change himself for them but he was scared that they would just abandon him and ignore him just like everyone else.

Milluki could actually survive and make it in the real world if he just had the motivation and if he did ever get out and touch some grass and met some people, his spoiled man-child personality would probably decrease expeditiously. It wouldn’t be completely gone, but he’d probably just be reduced to more of an know-it-all dork who always has a 'I’m smarter than everyone in this room, so when I say Sailor Moon can beat Goku, it’s a fact, don’t question my judgment !“ personality but can turn it off whenever he has to do something important or when he wants to make new friends.

I think Milluki Zoldyck only dislikes Killua because Killua took all of his attention away when he was born, especially Illumi’s. I already made a post about how I think Illumi and Milluki were once close but think about this.

Illumi and Milluki are 7 years apart in age, so Illumi was probably getting used to having a little brother and was probably quite curious about Milluki. Milluki probably followed him around out of curiosity and Illumi didn’t mind much and whenever he got a break from the harsh training his family put him through, he probably spent some quality time with Milluki. This was before his emotions got repressed.

Milluki was probably used to being the ‘baby’ and got his fair amount of attention and probably wasn’t even that spoiled, just indulged in toys and gifts his parents gave him when they realized that he probably wasn’t going to be cut out for the assassin lifestyle. I liked to think he always shared with Illumi though.

This all changed when Killua was born. Milluki would have been 5, Illumi would have been 12. Milluki was probably uneasy about having a little brother since he was the baby for 5 years. His suspicions would have been correct, when his parents immediately started gushing over their little white haired, blue eyed miracle child. Okay fine, so Killua took the attention of his parents, but at least he still had his illu-nii, right ? Yeah no, it probably only lasted a year before Killua was pushed on Illumi to be raised by him, his father and their grandfather. Kikyo, Silva and Zeno were probably the ones who started torturing Killua since birth to work on his pain tolerance, then as soon as he could walk, was like “Alright Illumi, your turn !”

Illumi was so focused on training Killua that he couldn’t spend any time with Milluki. Milluki was starting to feel neglected so he tried to seek out attention but his parents were probably like “Here, take this chocolate and go watch TV, Mill.” “Here’s a toy and some chips, now go away.” “Don’t bother Illumi when he’s training Killua, take this game system and some food and beat it.”

So Milluki started to shut himself in, which is why he still acts like a child at 17 years old, his parents just gave up on him in favor of Killua, giving him new toys and food instead of attention and love. Even when he uses technology and little gidgets he creates to assassinate people, his family still looks down on him and calls him a poor assassin.

Which is probably why Milluki eats so much and is obsessed with computers, games and anime figures, he associates that with love and comfort. He particularly eats a lot when he’s fustrated too. His parents don’t force him to train or to even take up the assassin lifestyle, they just want him out of the way, so they can fawn over Killua and only call him when they need something, which is why he has resentment towards Killua.

In a way I relate to him, since my younger brother is the perfect favorite of the family who just happens to look just like his father and gets away with anything, while the rest of us are just afterthoughts. Which is why I can’t bring myself to hate Milluki like everyone else.

In other words ? Milluki is just all alone and his personality and behavior is the result of the Zoldycks ignoring him. I don’t think Milluki deserves all of the hate he gets compared to other characters who’ve done way worse and still get praise just because they’re hot (i.e: Hisoka, Illumi, Chrollo, Feitan and others)

Well, I did one massive updated draw of the Hunter x Hunter women. Because, well, they deserve it. O

Well, I did one massive updated draw of the Hunter x Hunter women. Because, well, they deserve it. Once again, the women from HxH are some of the most wonderful and intricately created characters I have come across in my time watching anime and reading manga. They’ve all got so much depth to them. They come from all walks of life. They’re tough in the face of adversity. Some of them are down right scary. But that’s what makes them brilliant characters that compliment the generally main male cast wonderfully. When you’ve got a Shounen, you’ve almost always got your fan service babes, I think HxH takes that a step further, and actually gives us women with personalities. Women with feelings, women with goals and a drive. I love my main male heroes, but these women are what really made Hunter x Hunter the ride it is.
