a cocky, boastful, hedonistic, and self-serving man. He has an insane blood-lust and enjoys fighting strong opponents. While he does like Gon, Killua, and many others, he has stated that for him, what is valuable one day could easily become trash the next, and he will not hesitate to kill anyone should they not meet his standards. 1. Hisoka was the one who proposed

He didn’t do it officially, just said while talking about some stuff “BTW what do you think if we… ”

Illu said “No”

So then Hisoka offered a contract…

This doesn’t mean Illu has no feelings for Hisoka. He just prefers to hide his private life (official wedding ceremony makes it public) BUT… contract is a good investment haha

2. Each of them wants the other to take his last name and this drives they both crazy thus they decided not to change their last names (although Hisoka still hopes)

3. Illu’s family showed no emotion but def none of them likes Hisoka

4. Hisoka made the whole world know about the wedding date. He did it while fighting on Heaven arena what caused his opponent to froze on the one place

5. Hisoka invited EVERYONE but none of them came (not a big surprise but Hisoka didn’t care: he was fine to know that now everyone KNOWS about him and Illu)

6. Gon really wanted to come but he wanted to come with Killua

- It’s your brother wedding, don’t ignore it

Ofc Killua didn’t want to know EVEN A SINGLE THING about his brother and the fact that Illu marries HISOKA… Killu def didn’t feel comfortable about it

7. Although none of those (who we know) came, don’t forget that they both r famous.

There was a huge money award to those who proves if Hisoka lied about his wedding or not.

Thus before the wedding ceremony lots of reporters tried to spy on them.

8. Ofc no one had even the smallest chance to take a single pic of Illumi and Hisoka being together as a couple. Although Hisoka had fun playing hide and seek with those poor journalists who tried to hunt Hisoillu down

9. The hype caused by this situation made their wedding the worldwide occasion. Thanks to Hisoka the place and time were known by every living creature (ofc despite Ging)

There were salesmen who sold the tickets and ppl were reselling them for higher and higher prices as the hype grew more viral

By the time the appointed day came, just imagine how many ppl came to the wedding place and how much money were spent for still not proved wedding.

Then the time came and… nothing happened…

They married each other and signed the contract weeks before the date that Hisoka announced publicly. And no one came to their wedding among them both, priest and Gon who came by the very end arguing with Killu who didn’t want to come inside.

Since then as there were no proves and no wedding ceremony, everyone in the world was assured Hisoka lied about his wedding with Illumi.

an analysis of chrollo in the aftermath of his battle with hisoka

⚠️ this post contains major manga spoilers! ⚠️

it’s really interesting how chrollo truly didn’t give a fuck about dying when kurapika captured him (his confidence was also boosted by the fortune)

yet he refused to fight hisoka until he was 100% certain he’d win

he clearly enjoys the game of fighting, and even took risks to try to steal zeno’s nen during their battle:

but he reminds me of illumi in how he closely calculates the odds — illumi doesn’t fight, he assassinates.

I wonder if chrollo already suspected hisoka would be fatal trouble to the troupe if he died — that’s why he kept hisoka on a string for so long until he KNEW he’d kill him

so the murderous rage he feels now must not only be from the pain of losing two more of his beloved spiders, but from the guilt that it happened because he failed to protect them

and adding insult to injury, hisoka had said this before their battle:

let’s also take a moment to remember his motivations. from the beginning, the only thing that has truly mattered to chrollo — even more than treasure, winning, or his own life — is the legacy of his spider:

so in the end, did chrollo really win the match? yes, he killed hisoka, but hisoka 1) came back to life, 2) snapped off two legs of the spider (basically chrollo’s family), and 3) halted all troupe activities — including stealing! —

— until they tracked hisoka down and killed him once and for all.

now, both the troupe and illumi are wrapped up in hisoka’s game of catch — and with hisoka overturning his victory by resurrection, killing off two of his troupe members, and vowing to destroy the spider, it’s no wonder chrollo’s out for another requiem.
