This year wasn’t the most productive thanks to Animal Crossing and a pandemic going one, but I still had fun doing what I do!

wipes sweat 2020 was a good(?) art year for me since I managed to do personal stuffs along with zine and commission works! 

Pretty belated, but I haven’t done one of these for 2020 so here it is!

Some personal notes:

1.) i barely did any art in january, february, march, and june– especially june, where i only had like 3 sketches

2.) i used photoshop until april, where i got clip studio paint. that’s why the brushes are different (i really like the graphic pencil). it’s the first time i really committed to a program other than photoshop and we’re talking like… over a decade of using photoshop here whew

3.) i got my cintiq tablet in august, so my artwork became much bigger then. it was def worth saving up for

4.) surprisingly there’s quite a bit of sdv art, i felt like i didn’t do as much in 2020

5.) i think i have more “complete” works in 2020 and used backgrounds more often– i’m hoping to increase this in 2021 also!

2020′s been one hell of a year. I’m not quite as far ahead with my art skills as I wanted to be when I started this year, I didn’t focus on dynamic poses or backgrounds like I’d set out to do, but I focused on color theory and shape expressions and what I havemanaged to do through everything has all been more than satisfactory! 

Hopefully next year I’ll be able to focus more on dynamic poses and line of action, and all of the perspective studies I started and never finished. All in all, I’m proud of what I managed to get done through all of the turmoil and uncertainty, and I’ve done more with my art than I thought I would this year! 

Thank you 2020 for teaching me I had the resilience to persevere, now kindly go away and never come back!

Some personal favourites from 2020! I think we can all agree 2020 wasn’t a great year overall but it was also the year I finished my Master’s, started getting more freelance work and really came into my own style as an illustrator. As we brave into 2021, I just wanted to thank you all for your continued support! I may be a little robot who has trouble expressing their emotions properly but please know that every follow, like and comment warms my cold, metal heart more than words can say

All the local galleries are full of artists that they were showing last year, my kickstarter to get full scale prints made did not get funded (really bad timing). I’ll eventually be releasing a small art book containing all of these, I hope. I had wanted to show them as a group but I do not think I’ll be able to do that. so,
