Hope Love’s Eternal: A Ben x Jed Fanfic Short
I just made this. Hope you enjoy it.
Jed and Ben sat next to each other by the fire next to the Old Mill. Ben looked up at the night sky. Stars and their constellations sparkled against in the midnight canvas.
Jed watched him, smiling. “What are you thinking about?”
“Do you know the story of Eros & Psyche,” Ben asked, giving Jed his attention.
“Another relative of yours?”
Ben chuckled. “Yeah. Eros fell madly in love with a mortal, Psyche. She was the most beautiful woman on Earth in her time. Wow, Aphrodite was jealous and did all in her power to dissuade Eros & Psyche. Put her through trials and she almost died. Aphrodite eventually gave in and Eros gave her magic.”
“I thought it was ambrosia.”
Ben raised his eyebrows. “Ah, you do know your mythology. Different words, same thing. Anyway, Psyche became immortal, a god.”
“Nice story. “
“Yeah.” Ben turned away back to the stars.
Jed leaned in. “What’s wrong?”
It’s…nothing,” said Ben, shaking his head.
“No. Come on. What is it?”
Ben sighed. “I’ve lived a long time and I probably always will.”
Jed nodded.
“Since Ashur’s death and my curse, I didn’t think I would get a chance to be with anyone. I guess what I’m asking is,” Ben turned to Jed. “If I could get the magic again, would you take it and live forever with me?”
Jed furrowed his brow. “Are you proposing to me?”
“Hypothetically, yes. I know it’s a strange question.”
Jed drew closer to Ben. Their foreheads touched and their eyes locked.
“I would.”
Ben smiled. He came near, meeting Jed’s lips with his.
“But what would we do?”
“Oh, I haven’t a clue,” he said before he busted his laughter.
His mirth caused Ben to do the same as they both stargazed.
At this point, the Old Mill needs to be their official hangout/place. All the good stuff has happened there.

Gin Blossoms + Ambrosia at Spirit Mountain Casino
Overall
- That’s right folks, that says Spirit Mountain Casino and Gin Blossoms. Both are firsts for MHCP.
- This is how you too could have ended up with tickets for this:
- Step 1: Drink a lot of wine with your friend/neighbor.
- Step 2: Listen to your friend/neighbor’s “90’s Jams” playlist.
- Step 3: Sing and laugh when Allison Road is played.
- Step 4: Learn from sober observer that Gin Blossoms are on tour.
- Step 5: Buy tickets before the song is over.
- Step 6: After learning the casino hotel is sold out, convince your parents to drive you and your friends so that you all may participate in the drinking that will occur at this concert.
- The picture above of the venue sets the scene for what the casino is like as a music venue. There is carpet. There are hundreds of chairs lined up. It’s not pictured but the bar is in the way back of the room near the bleachers. Bleachers!
- Me: “I feel like I’m at the dentist”
- Friend: “The rock and roll dentist”
- Number of drink required to get through Ambrosia’s set: 3.
- To be fair, they sounded great. I’m not a big enough fan to know who are the original members and who aren’t, but they had good chemistry and were all fine musicians.
- They played all the songs you know and love (and there a lot of them) intermixed with some newer songs that were popular in the Philippines. They knew what people came to hear.
- Allison Road, the song that got us there in the first place, was played fairly early in their set. During this song, the audience rushed to the front of the stage.
- The lead singer kept grabbing peoples phones and taping himself singing.
- If you ever wanted to play the tambourine, go see this band. They have like 6 of them that they pass around to the audience.
In Conclusion
I give this show 10 stars. Parents driving me a Gin Blossoms concert? Yeah it's definitely 1992 all over again. Five stars for that. Another five stars because it isn’t 1992 anymore.

Eris, Eileithyia, and violent Ares.
Hebe, who possessed great ingenuity,
Yet reads the Olympian Enquirer cover to cover.
Hebe, whose Nordic golden hair
Frames Her annoyed, lovely face
And reminds all who look upon Her
That She is still the Goddess of Eternal Youth,
And needs to be appreciated.
O Great Goddess Hebe!!
