Heres your reminder to use literally anything but chrome

And here’s your reminder that Firefox actively works to protect your privacy and prevent tracking.

Firefox also has “Facebook fence” which is used to contain Facebook into isolated tabs that prevent tracking as you browse, since so many sites have social media plugins/ads that help collect data for Facebook and other apps.

You can tell Firefox to fence in Facebook in the browser preferences. Also a good time to change your search engine to DuckDuckGo and leave Google search behind (or only use it with another browser that’s separate from daily use).

The EFF (OP of the tweet) has various types of privacy tools that they’ve created. Some are browser plugins. I recommend going to their site to learn more about internet privacy and advocacy (and donating a few bucks if you can spare it). https://www.eff.org/pages/tools

- Download -» Nedladdning (≈Runterladung)
- Browser -» Webbläsare (≈Webleser)
- Spam -» Skräppost (≈Gerümpel-/Krampost)

Hi! I really liked the decluttering idea. And I have a challenge for you! It’s about cleaning up your devices. Don’t force yourself to do it all at once it may take much time ;)

Text messages:

  • Look through your e-mails, delete the needless ones.
  • Unsubscribe newsletters.
  • Also check your SMS and text messaging apps.

SM:

  • Unfollow the accounts that makes you feel bad somehow and people who you don’t like although keep following.

Gallery:

  • Look through your gallery and delete wrong taken photos, screenshots etc.
  • Organize the pictures.

Internet:

  • Clean up your browser history.
  • Clean up your bookmarks.
  • Delete the accounts you no longer use (for example old browser games you no longer play accounts).
  • Check your Google Drive and tidy it up.

Device:

  • Change your wallpaper.
  • Delete the music you stopped listening to years ago. (Spotify counts!)
  • Organize your desktop.
  • Organize your secondary storage.

I’m starting now, what about you?

Text to Image

Latest web-based project from Cristóbal Valenzuela is a simple online text to image generator using neural networks to render a visual from what you type in.

It is very simple but generates very abstract results (as you can see in the video above), and you may generate several variations from the same inputted text.

Try it out for yourself here

Do your part - use literally anything other than Google Chrome

Reminder that switching to Firefox is incredibly easy and takes just a few minutes, you WILL be able to copy over all your cookies, browsing history, logins etc, as well as change the look/layout so it feels like what you’re used to.

Kinda impressed by opera, that shit has been around for some time

this is fascinating to watch

Re-teaching myself Selenium because I keep forgetting because I never use it because I’m stuck using HP tools at work. It’s so much ball ache just getting it set up, but Java is a much nicer language than VB.

Gonna spend the weekend automating browser based games for practice. If anybody’s got any good ones let me know and I’ll return the favour by sending you my code so you can essentially bot the game… not that I’m condoning that.

Fresh Patterns #47 “Muchas Gracias”

An unusually figural one, but I made this pattern as a background for a thank you card out of lots of icons I’ve made and used during this year at my awesome job and I wanted to share!
