It’s like three months late but here’s our pride performance! We weren’t perfect, but we did our best and everyone seemed to appreciate it. It’s the thought that counts, right?

Here’s some more work to our routine!!! It’s not polished yet, but I’m so happy it’s written!!

Here’s the first bit of the routine for the Pride Event!!!

So my friend and I (she’s appeared in most of the videos on here) are choreographing a routine for the pride event that is happening in our town. So stay tuned for videos of us mostly failing at trying to write work and probably screaming as we try to do scary tosses!

Can you tell it’s been a long winter of no spinning?

We were finally able to get outside and spin!!! I can’t wait until it’s warmer and the cold doesn’t make me flinch when I catch my flag

so apparently Stranger Things is casting for a marching band and the only requirement is that the people are under 30. what I would like to know is if they’re casting a color guard???? because I would TOTALLY go for that!!! I really want them to cast for a color guard but even if they do I’m not sure I would be able to do it or whatever, but it’s the thought that counts!

UPDATE!!!!: they’re only casting people that play instruments (I hope a bunch of high school band nerds have an amazing time auditioning!) I’m super bummed out that they don’t have a color guard, buuuutttt at least some people will live out their dreams!

I don’t think I’ll ever be able to thank my high school color guard and winter guard team, as well as the band as the staff of all three for all they have done for me. Entering high school was a really rough time for me, and throughout my four years there I faced a TON of bullshit. But both my teams, the band, AND the staff were there to support me and help me through everything. Yeah, there was definitely some drama, but in the end we all came out of it together and I could never be more thankful for that.

Thank you high school band class, for making me who I am today and teaching me so many lessons that I will need as I continue this adventure called life.

You know what one of the best feelings is? That breathlessness after you finish a show. That split second right after a show ends where you’re like wow I did that… I accomplished so much and in that second it doesn’t matter that you messed up or that you dropped that toss, all that matter is you survived the whole show. I find myself missing that feeling…

I can’t wait until we start marching because our work this year is very different than in the past and I’m excited to try something new and actually be able to push myself with the show and I like the feeling after a full run and I can’t wait to have it back

Welcome to my clarinet section. Here we have:

- the late bloomer emo section leader that brings random produce to potlucks (me)

- the gay pothead that doesn’t want to be here but was in band for 8 years and cried at senior night

- the other section leader that can be mistaken for a freshman and joined the day of kickoff night as a freshman despite never playing an instrument

- the tall dude with broken hips who manages to be louder than everyone

- the antisocial kid who may or may not have had a hit list in middle school but he’s gotten better and is not homophobic, just closeted

- the trans guy who gaslit everyone into thinking he was always male and is also allergic to everything but eats the thing she shouldn’t have anyways

- the clone of an alumni that I forget is younger than me

- the twin who I thought was just in two sections and never mentioned it who is apparently very loud but I’ve never heard him speak

- salad boy who materializes next to people randomly and has almost been killed by me by accident on a few times due to his peanut allergy

- sheltered girl who’s the embodiment of 2014 tumblr but in an innocent way

- tall awkward guy with the same exact first and last name as a senior

Honorable mentions:

- the flamboyant ginger closeted MCR fan who is now drum major and brought lettuce to 2 games this year

- my ex girlfriend who joined colorguard and has definitely forgotten how to play clarinet by now

- the girl who never showed up, quit, and posted about how much she missed band on Snapchat

- the 4’10 girl that was supposed to be our section leader and then disappeared

One year during a band potluck some kid said that our majorette at the time seemed like the kind of person to put her fingers a little bit in her mouth when she eats chips and like a minute later she came into the garage where we were sitting and did just that
