Titled “Remember your Dreams”, the inflatable art installation that “landed” in front of @palais_galliera between October 15 - 24, 2021, invited visitors into a dreamlike maze that lulled the senses. Measuring 7 metres in height and 12 metres in depth, the giant installation was conceived by French artist Cyril Lancelin’s (@town.and.concrete) as a jumble of lilac-coloured spiralling tubes bundled into a stark, rectilinear volume. The artwork is the inaugural edition of “The Art of Dreams" a global series of interactive art and design installations by @porsche that explore the motif of dreams from different conceptual angles. We can’t wait for the next edition which is scheduled to coincide with next year’s Salone del Mobile in Milan.

This #corneliaparker conceptual art piece at the #victoriaandalbertmuseum is heart reading and thought provoking and a reminder that some conceptual art has real substance. She got the brass instruments from a northern England mining down where the mines have been closed and many of the brass bands and souls have gone quiet and at the Tower of London - symbolic in its own right - she had these vacuum compressed into lifeless flat objects which hang horizontally between two floors for the viewer to look down upon and through to the floor below.

@bev_fishman’s bold, polychromatic wall works meditate on the many parallels that can be drawn between #pharmaceuticals and art. Like taking a pill, an experience with art is often brief yet has the ability to induce a response that runs deep within in one’s being. Fishman’s vivid #geometric reliefs may not take on the overt physical appearance of #pills, but are representative of how pharmaceutical companies utilize #aesthetic appeal in their products to offer the promise of a better reality. Each optically alluring and carefully crafted shape stacked within her compositions is assigned an ailment denoted by the title of the work.
With all of the chaos surrounding the Covid #vaccine and health care concerns rampant as a result of the pandemic, Fishman’s slick, subtle sculptural paintings provide a moment of relief, drug-free.

#tbt This is was the video portion of my senior thesis project at Penn in 2015. I still love this shape! (#icosahedron) And I still want to work more with the themes I was trying to address in this project, including the concept of a monument, school closures, hidden burial grounds, and the forgotten histories of African-Americans in Philadelphia. All of that was a lot to try to tackle in one project. Maybe now I delve into it more thoroughly. Anyone else interested in dissecting these themes through the perspective of art?

“This isn’t even my final form!”
This drawing took a real long time, and then after I finished it, I went back and forth for a few weeks trying to decide whether or not to add color. Maybe in the future (digitally, I’m really happy with the ink original as is), but for now, here’s the original black and white drawing!
I’m adding this to the roster of some recent work that I think of as the “vision” series.
Soon this will also be available as prints and on shirts, stay tuned for more info!
