This photo shows a corridor in the famous Bendlerblock. This was the central point where Stauffenberg and others planned to kill Hitler. Sadly they were not successful, as we all know and the war continued. Today is a gray and sad day because Russia started a war against the Ukraine. That‘s why I‘m posting this photo because war is knocking on our doors and resistance against dictatorship and warmongers is more important than ever.

I don’t think it was casual. I am almost sure that Miss Walker was waiting in the corridor for me to get out of the Headmistress’ office after my punishment.
She had been the teacher who has ordered my punishment during her lesson in the morning and now before leaving the school, she wanted to see by her own the result of her creation. The worst part of it is that she looked like enjoying it.
In spite of my efforts pretending to stand calmed and haughty when I passed in front of her, the tears in my eyes were perfectly noticeable, my way of walk was really clumsy and I could not stop to rub my sore bottom.
- Good afternoon, Miss Walker
- Good afternoon, Johnson. It’s unusual to see you at the Administration building. I guess you have just paid the Headmistress the visit I booked for you in the morning.
- Yes, Miss
- Great. Was it a pleasurable one?
- I am afraid not, Miss. She caned me
- Really? How many strokes did you get?
- Six, Miss.
- Well, not too many then. Next time I should recommend a higher number for you. It does not look like six having a great impact on your attitude.
At that moment I could not but to burst in tears.
- Wow, real tears! Well, maybe it has had more impact that I thought in the first place!
With a wide smile in her face, those were her last words before leaving me alone in the corridor crying and leaning on the wall.
