The theme for our Summer Reading Program is “Tails & Tales”! Join Ms. Jordi, our YA Librarian, as she shows you how to make animal-themed décor for your room using the visual art form découpage and how to make wall decals using vinyl or contact paper.

Comic book table: done! \o/

I accidentally bought a double copy of Avengers vol 3 issue 28 when I was at Megacon, so I figured I’d put it to some good use. I also had a spare A+X #1 and various other leftover scraps from other decapodge projects (Iron Man: Most Wanted, Iron Man: Armor Wars… some House of M stuff…).

And, voila! Avengers side table! \o/ Let’s see, some notes:

  • I didn’t realize until after I did it that if you save the borders/sides for last, you end up with a sort of “frame” around your table. I personally LIKE how it turned out (thank goodness, ha), but if you don’t want that look, be sure to do your border/side FIRST, then cover it up with later layers.
  • Obligatory Tony Stark in a thong
  • Had two great Steve and Tony full-page cut outs, worked well over the “Avengers” logo.
  • Avengers 3.28 just so happens to have like my IDEAL lady line up, which meant I got to line up my FAVORITE ladies just below the Avengers logo: Jan, Carol, Wanda, and Jen ^.^
  • It PROBABLY would look better withOUT that top layer of the Tony+Steve, Avengers logo, and the ladies below it. Like, just with the full panels and stop there. BUT I like it the way it is for MY Avengers table. If I was making this like, as a professional thing, I’d probably leave off that top layer and just stick with the single layer of comic panels, no embellishments.
  • And then just some shots of the sides. It’s a great opportunity to do some long-panels, like Bucky point on the right, there, or Cap’s shield flying on the left. :D

I still have to let it dry, add some more decoupage layers, sand it down, and then seal it. But I figured I’d upload the pictures now in case I mess it up later!

Hi everyone!

Today I come to you with a brand new event for the month of October: you think you can guess what it is? Think twice!

I present you CrafTober! As you can see, this challenge is hosted by my dear friend dreamscape_route, so there’s a reason for this peculiar name. But fear not: it is open to everyone, to every art, scrapbooking, cooking, sewing, leatherwork, drawing, works with wood, any kind of thing you can create with your hands!

That’s what makes it so special. This is about Art. So go create folks!

Topics and rules are in the pictures.

Of course I will partecipate too. Will you?

The Saucy Bard

Setting: A casual dinner with the Senshi in the Crystal Palace.

Minako: Hey Mamoru-san, another one of your speech napkins turned up on eBay.

Mamoru: Yeah? Which one?

Minako: The picture from the seller was kind of fuzzy. Something about pizza?

Mamoru: Ah, I remember that one. What’s it going for?

Minako: Last I checked, about 3000 yen.

Twenty minutes later…

Usagi: Mamo-chan, are you on your phone under the table?

Mamoru: It’s an important email from, um, the prime minister of Canada.

Usagi: *rolling her eyes* You’re starting a bidding war, aren’t you?

Mamoru: I worked hard on that speech! And no one heard it!

Credit to @goddessalthena for the idea of Tuxedo Mask jotting down speech ideas on napkins like an aspiring bard.

Also dedicated to @sailormoonandmeand@uranuswind. Hopefully you know why ;-)

I love that you wrote this ❤️ So precious.

(I started my own little OS the other night, maybe I can mold it into something for Flufftober.)
