Anybody know how to get rid of a shed?

I got this… not falling down but not particularly well-constructed shed in the yard the former owner used to smoke cigars in and it’s RIGHT in the middle of the best gardening area in the whole yard. Like I’m pretty sure I could take this thing apart with a crowbar if necessary but that’s a lot of damn work, and it’s not quite well-built enough/modular so I’m not sure I can ask/sell it to someone else to take away.

So, do I put it up on nextdoor and see if anyone wants it (free if you take it/I’ll pay you $100 to remove it)? Try taking it apart and if so, where does the resulting detritus go? Straight to the city dump?

Hell, if you’re in the denver metro area or willing to drive there DM me I want it gone so I can start doing soil prep.

I did this recently. The “demolition” only took an afternoon (not really demolition when it’s so old it’ll fall over if you lean on it). You pay a company to drop an empty dumpster at your house and take it away full. The keyword is “construction debris disposal”. I live in a jurisdiction where it’s forbidden to dump construction debris in the normal waste stream, so there are plenty of folks offering this service. Also it’s a lot easier to break a shed into dumpster-size pieces than trashcan-size pieces.

The soil underneath was great despite being covered for god knows how long.

Always wear gloves. Splinters, broken glass, rusty nails.

Remove any glass panels first, and carefully. If you just let them smash, you’ll be pulling glass out of your yard forever, like me.

The Demolition - 24″ x 30″

The removal of our rich history and the displacement of the lower class is an issue facing most large cities today. Portland is one of those cities being greatly affected by gentrification currently, as seen by the most recent demolition of the Ancient Order of United Workmen Temple at SW 2nd Ave and Taylor St, directly in downtown Portland. The Architect, Justus F. Krumbein, built this in 1892. Most of his life’s work has been destroyed.

By stumbling upon @Thumbtack, a platform that connects customers with professionals for any job they need done. While still working full-time, @jfdee signed up as a general contracting “pro” on Thumbtack. “I got lucky out of the gate and landed a $6,000 kitchen remodel… The rest is history.” Today, Downing runs his own construction business that employs 24 subcontractors and projects $5 million in sales for 2016. #MondayMotivation

Built in 1969, the main portion of the building has been vacant for several years—in 2015, a move to a major new 9-million square foot campus in the distant new enclave of Sheikh Zayed City, 17 miles west of the city center on the desert edge of urban Cairo was announced, to be designed by SOM.
Last August, a car bombed exploded at the base of this building, killing at least twenty. The exurban campus has yet to be constructed, the NCI operates from a 2-level building in the shadow of this broad, empty tower.
