Il prossimo mese (dicembre 2018) uscirà in edicola il mio prossimo Nathan Never (SBE editore). In questo disegno Nathan Never è con la protagonista della storia che si intitolerà “Codice fantasma” (n. 331). #MuslimArt | #Ramadan2016: Con l'ultimo giorno di Ramadan, terminiamo questa breve serie dedicata alle creazioni africane e della diaspora che riflettono e richiamano la fede islamica dell'artista.
Nel corso della settimana abbiamo condiviso i lavori di Tasnim Baghdadi, Thania Petersen, Samra Habib, Hassan Hajjaj e Igshaan Adams. Oggi concludiamo la serie con un talento nostrano: TAKOUA BEN MOHAMED.
Graphic journalist, sceneggiatrice e fumettista italo-tunisina, Takoua Ben Mohamed da voce alla sua matita affrontando diverse tematiche sociali – tra cui immigrazione, razzismo, violenza sulle donne, identità e Islam.
Figlia di un rifugiato politico tunisino, perseguitato dall'allora regime di Ben Ali, Takoua Ben Mohamed arriva in Italia all'età di otto anni, portando con sè della Tunisia la passione per il disegno.
Questa passione – supportata dall'attivismo in associazioni giovanili e gli studi in giornalismo – la porta a fondare Il Fumetto Intercultura all'età di 14 anni: un progetto dove l'artista, utilizzando il linguaggio semplice ed immediato del fumetto, abbatte i muri del pregiudizio e dello stereotipo con l'arma dell'ironia.
«Non esistono due culture che che non hanno niente in comune, è proprio sui punti in comune che dobbiamo lavorare per costruire il dialogo e la convivenza.»

My first Lucca Comics & Games festival with my first published book is over!!!!
And it was scary+challenging+enriching = AWESOME!!! And I’m so thankful to everybody I met, old friends and new ones, to my publisher saldaPress who made this happen and its team of incredible people, but especially to my friend and the scenarist of our baby Desolation Club, Lorenzo Palloni who, despise his gigantic talented golden ego and his neverending stupidity, he is also a wonderful human being that I care about very very much
AND OH, DUDES, THE LAST PHOTO IS OUR JOY BECAUSE AT THE END OF THE FESTIVAL THE BOOK ALREADY SOLD OUT!!!!!!!
THE DESOLATION CLUB IS FINISHED
I can’t believe it yet. My first huge adventure in comicsland is over. Two years and a half.
I’m so grateful to my scenarist Lorenzo Palloni for this present he chose to share with me, I still feel honoured to have worked with him.
His characters and universe are real, his way of storytelling flows so natural at the lecture and, because I’m talking about the second and last volume of this comic, I really really loved the ending of the story. And normally it’s not what I like most in a story, it always risks to be disappointing or weak!
So, I feel so lucky to have been part of it and I hope that my drawings are good enough to transmit the power of this story, I’ve done my best.
And thank you all for your love and support, my friends far and near, you have been precious and your kind words gave me strenght and perseverance.
And thank you Vikt, Ibu, Waka, Bek and Pwa, my babies.

(I don’t have many words for now because I’m still concentrated finishing the volume 2. I’m gonna postpone the sentimental post when I’ll have finished all this tiring adventure)

Hey, long time no see!
Since the last time I’ve worked on the two covers of The Desolation Club! But I’m sorry, they are still a secret ;)
And now I’m starting to color the second book! It starts with Bek in an happy and relaxed atmosphere, with the perfume of maple syrup…but, wait…wasn’t it extinct in Uueit city? And who is knocking at the window?
