Alright today January 16th has been horrible. With a large windstorm this morning I lost a tree onto my roof. From what I was able to see it didn’t do major damage but I need to get it removed ASAP so I can tell. Normally I’m able to do this kind of work myself but COVID has made it so I don’t feel steady enough to do it. Even climbing the ladder today almost made me pass out. So I need help to hire a tree service because I can’t risk roof damage. Please help because this is time sensitive.
I’m ready to just give up. The car gave up the ghost again and I cannot fix it. To be able to afford anything I need help. I’ve sold what I can to keep us in a rental for the next two weeks but after that I just don’t know what to do. I have to be able to get Dad to appointments at the VA and myself to dialysis. The vehicles that are out there are so much more than they should be that I’m not too proud to admit I’ve been brought to tears more than once. Anything at this point helps. This week has been the worse in a very long year. I got out of the ICU after almost a week last night. I’m suffering from pneumonia that should have been treated properly in August. I ended up in the ER after barely being able to walk or breathe. If not bad enough today I find out I have to go to the special magistrate to deal with getting the county code enforcement off our backs and now the ignition in the car is busted. I had just enough money to rent a car so I can get us to the doctors this week. I need help. I need to either be able to fix the car or find something that’s reliable. I also need the money to pay for the new prescriptions I’m on. Any help right now would be a godsend up to and including getting the VA to get off their collective ass and approve Dad’s Agent Orange claim. They now owe us a minimum of 33 months of back pay and counting.

I paid for it because I had to but now have around $40 dollars for the month and still have to pay bills. While a few can let me have time some won’t like the payment for the insurance repayment through the mortgage company. I need help and a very long vacation from the insanity that is cancer and renal failure. Please reblog and thank you.
Sorry for this long since update what I’ve gotten went to water and electric. I’m trying to work something out with the mortgage but *sigh*. I’m just tired right now in a bone deep way no sleep ever helps. Yet the sun still comes up and the sun still goes down. As always reblogs appreciated.

On Friday, 14th May, we learned that our lease isn’t being renewed because the property owners are selling the house.
The property management company was supposed to inform us of this…in January. Five months ago. Guess who couldn’t be bothered? (This management company’s google rating is 1.8 stars. Clearly, they are champions at being awful.)
So: suddenly we had to get the house ready for a video walk-thru for sales listing in twenty-four hours. Fun way to spend a weekend, given that I’ve been ill for months and I live with three people who cannot see dirt. They are all three now filled with regret for not cleaning every time I suggested it.
Now that the initial cleaning is done, andtwovideo walk-thrus are done…I’m fucking panicking, because we HAVE to move. AGAIN. While we were working on accomplishing this, we were hoping to do it on our terms and time, and that we would have more time to put money aside to accomplish this. Also, we didn’t want to move during a pandemic when we’re not all fully vaccinated.
Our tax refund is MIA. We already spent most of the last government “Here’s hoping things suck less!” check due to bills and medical bullshit.
You have no idea how much I hate doing this, but: Help. :( We have to get out, we have to get out FAST, and it’s likely we’ll have to pay rent on two different properties at the same time for at least a full month, if not two. That is a lot of money, even if we get lucky enough to find a place to rent that costs less than this one. (Hahaahaahaaa the rental prices in this entire region have gone bugfucking NUTS hahahahahhaaaaaa brb sobbing)
I know we’re all being slammed hard by life and the pandemic. I haven’t been able to properly write or make Shinies due to being ill, which just makes me feel worse about pretty much everything, but if you’ve got a few bucks to spare and don’t mind tossing it our way? You have my gratitude, the gratitude of the Mate, the Podlings, and the Cats. The production of Shinies and Words and maybe even Art (WEIRD) will resume once I am no longer packing and panicked about finding/moving into yet another new place.
I was less stressed about our move from one end of the east coast to the other. This is ludicrous.
(If they weren’t selling the place out from under us, we would NOT be moving house. Things are still too nuts.)
Well 2021 is so far shittier then 2020. I’m sitting in ER with pneumonia and possibly some other issues. As well as my dialysis access deciding to clot. I’m sorry but I’m going to need help.
I have made it out of icu but I’m not going home for a while still. I can handle with low flow oxygen but 15 minutes without it and I’m wheezing like mad. So far my only high point is they could clot my access.

Lack of funding, staff shortage strains Vera House operations
On Monday night, Randi Bregman, a co-executive director of Vera House, brought a client to the hospital when no other staff could. Angela Douglas, another Vera House co-executive director, escorted a separate client to the hospital last week.
“What you might think is a typical day for co-executive directors, is anything but,” Bregman said.
Vera House, an organization that offers emergency shelter, advocacy and counseling for survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse, is facing a financial crisis due to the pandemic and the “Great Resignation” — a term that refers to the economic trend where American workers resigned from their jobs in 2021. Private organizations are pulling their staff away by offering higher pay.
Vera House also lost a $125,000 grant for an elder abuse program, Douglas said. The two are committed to reforming the organization to also provide care and sustainability to their staff.
“We, looking into 2022, said we want to recruit staff at the level we think they deserve to be earning at the organization,” Bregman said. “And we want to address equity issues in the organization and retain the staff we have, so we committed to invest in that coming into 2022 even though we didn’t have the income to support it.”
