Happy (late) halloween and dia de muertos! as a special here’s Mexamian Roselia and Mexamian Roserade, grass/ghost pokemon inspired by cempasuchil flowers, catrinas and dia de muertos, of course
Just wrapped up these designs for a Pop Culture Pokémon design/art contest being held by @grimchild. I had a couple different ideas based on characters/movies I enjoy, but ended up going with this evolution line based on Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors (’86).
Designing these Pokémon was super fun and I’m extremely proud of the finished piece! This is my first time drawing in the Ken Sugimori art style, and I think I was able to pull it off fairly convincingly. Hope people enjoy!
Also, if you have not seen the ‘86 Little Shop of Horrors movie before, I highly recommend it. Great songs, amazing practical effects, I think it’s a good time.
