My name is Cate, I’m 23 and I’m from Northern England. I have been couch surfing for the last few months and come to the realisation of how cripplingly lonely life can be. In which case, I would like to offer an ear/hand to anyone out there who doesn’t have a way to escape their current reality by having someone around them who will listen without judgement. Whether you want a light-hearted discussion, to discuss any worries that are on your mind or even to exchange life stories. Whatever it may be, I will listen. Now, I’m not saying that I’m your knight in shining armour and that I can make it all better nor am I saying that I can take away the pain away but I will listen with an open mind and heart. As human beings we are conditioned to be suspicious of each other and rightly so in some cases, just please know that I am sincere. I’ve been doing a lot better mentally the last month, better than I have been the last two years. I ended up messaging an old friend two weeks ago right as it hit a whole year since we last talked. They haven’t replied back yet.
It was on an app I dont use anymore but still have on my tablet. I’d used it almost daily from middle school up through junior year of highschool, which is wild to think about. I met some of my closest friends there, and I’ll always consider them that, but it was always contained to that app. Most of them have probably deleted it by now, and I’d have no way of contacting them.
The friend I messaged was last on three weeks before then from what I can tell. Itd really suck to miss them by that much, but I could definitely see that happening.
The last conversation we had was about exams. They never got back to me on how they went. I hope they did well.
The last message they sent was to tell me they loved me.
I miss them so much.
