For now idk what to say about the Steam problem…The reviewer thinks Remake is “identical” with the free ver. so they won’t allow the release… (While when the first screenshots were posted on T&T news they considered it was “a diffrent game” and took the news down).

Since they wouldn’t let us post there, and considered a Remake was a diffrent title, we hesitated a long time before paid the submission fee and spent time building Store page and everthing. And we did our best to polish the game, giving it more contents as a new game.

Sure there wasn’t any problem when they reviewing the Store page, so we never dreamt such problem could happen.
It was such a shock, and very frustrating.
I’ve already explained the issue, and hopefully we can get a good result.

I bought that Itch.io bundle for abortion rights, but while I apparently created an account ages ago that I forgot about I’ve never really explored the site. Is there any way to filter thru the games you have? I have two hundred and twenty one games now and I want to sort them by one player or two player, but so far all I can figure out is how to click on every individual game page and sort it into a collection. And I’ll have to do that for over nine hundred games. Is there a filter/sort button that I’m missing?

Hey guys, we’re back again with another Halloween Update, and a little early this time! The changes aren’t super huge this time around because more focus has been going into creation of the game at large, so expect an update about the full game tomorrow!

Here’s a list of what’s new:

  • Minor visual updates to make the graphic style more uniform.
  • All NPCs now have names and dialogue sounds.
  • New music! Carna’s battle theme has been tweaked to be slightly less headache-inducing, and Libitina’s theme has been completely overhauled.
  • After much feedback on the hospital rooms, there’s now more of a visual indicator of when you’re able to start exploring (nothing too hand-holdy, just the doors that don’t require keys now being open).
  • Said hospital rooms also have minor cosmetic updates, just to make them look a bit different.
  • A bug causing the line of text before opening the door to Carna’s office to appear again after going inside has been fixed.
  • The loading screen isn’t the default asset anymore! Almost sad how long it took to fix that.

And I believe that’s all for this update! Keep your eyes out for the following devlog, where we show off what’s to come after the Emergency Ward! Happy halloween, everyone!

Hi all! I’m here with another progress update. I’ve got some good news to share with you this week: the first draft of Sho’s route is 95% finished, and it’s been sent to my two awesome volunteer editors to begin the editing process while I finish that remaining 5%. It’s basically done except for the few minor things I have to finish writing. Yay!! ✨

I’m sure you’re wondering why it took so long to finish - or maybe you aren’t, but I’ll talk about it anyway. My original idea for the route way back in April or May was for Piper/the player to have the choice of what to cook with Sho for the cooking contest - and that depending on which one you pick, a large chunk of the middle of the route would be different. In practice, this ended up making the route fairly complicated, to the point that I was basically writing two routes that lead to the same possible endings. So, when Sho’s route is eventually finished, you’ll actually be able to play it again and see several completely different scenes and dialogue options.

I’m proud of how it’s turning out, but suffice to say, I probably won’t be doing something that complex with any of the other routes, once this one is done. ^^;; It’s caused the route to balloon into something much longer than I ever intended, and it’ll require a lot more proofreading and playtesting than if I had just employed a little creative self-control. But I’m learning how to make VNs as I go along, so I’m considering it a learning experience! ✨

That’s a real screenshot from the Google doc. I don’t think the route will go past 40,000 words by the time I finish the last 5%, but it might get very close. Whew! x_x

No idea when the route itself will be complete and uploaded to Itch.io, considering that all my estimations on those things have been wrong so far.  On top of that, after my huge writing marathon during September, I’m in need of a short break. But my goal at this point is to ramp up my efforts to get the art assets finished once I’ve had my break, and you can be sure that everything I get done it eventually get posted here! ✌️

Games take a long time to make, and a good game takes even longer. So my advice is to obviously make a game in a ridiculous amount of time, push yourself to the limits, and be as wacky and out there as ever.

Ludum Dare! It comes around 3 times a year, and this event I joined two fellow developers to create The Daily Grind, a barista simulator!
