So there I was faffing about with my apple (as you do) and thought “hey this would be a good thing to do for people looking after bored kiddies this summer”
Apple “doughnuts” aren’t a new thing but never the less they would be such an easy way to pass time and encourage food interaction with the youngins’
Just core and slice a few apples and stick what ever decorations you want them to use and boom a fun interactive (sort of healthy) dessert

Little hers: mini crackers with butter, carrot sticks, plain (high protein) greek style soy yoghurt with chia seeds and cinnamon, apple, strawberries, cranberries and almonds

Little hers: Cosima is really into preparing her own meals these days so she chopped some of her fruit herself and helped to make her sandwich.

Here, she has a lunch of marmite sandwich, smoked turkey, vegetable crisps, crispy green beans, apple, grapes and strawberry.

Littler hers: snacky tea of a marmite sandwich, sliced beef, , raspberries, , vegetable crisps, dried cranberries and pistachios.

Little hers: her own homemade pizza, with red grapes and chopped apple, no-added-sugar drinking yoghurt in the side.

DIY Mini Food

Updated Link 2019

Cool post from The Unconfidential Cook here on “Emma’s Tiny Treats”.

How to make the donuts:

The box of donuts is really a pill box….Emma’s holding her favorite, a cheerio dipped in chocolate, then sprinkles. The others are cheerios dipped in confectioners’ sugar and cheerios rolled in cinnamon sugar.

How to make the mini cakes:

The mini cakes are really oreos with a layer of frosting between them, then more frosting on tops and sides…plus decorations.

The cakes should “rest” before anyone tries cutting a slice so the oreos have a chance to soften and become, yes, cake-like. Emma used a small pastry tip to make florettes and tubes of colored gels for the lettering.
