The yarn is @kelpieknits’ Lochbroom, and I am completely in love with both the colours and the feel - this yarn is squishy and smooth and I just want to rub my face over it, but I know if I do I will poke an eye out. I may need to make myself a scarf out of this base some point soon.

If you’re not using your train journeys for impromptu photo shoots, what are you even doing?
Having two pairs on the needles is actually a pretty nice feeling, as it makes me less likely to get bored of either.
On the left I’m reknitting a failed sock I refused to acknowledge for about six years. On the right, a request from faeandfibre, who very kindly helped me find a third skein at lovehandyed’s stall this Saturday. It’s knitting up beautifully.

A lot of you don’t know me, personally; or how much of my life was spent studying fiber arts, the industry, and how that had a phenomenal impact on my business; how I make my products, and (in certain ways) how having an education in the Fiber Arts distinctly makes my products unique and different to those that are similar on the market, so I want to start an open Q&A dialogue on this post, where you can ask anything about my life in the arts, my time in Philadelphia, my work load, my focused study at Tyler….Ask me anything. My husband and I are planning a road trip (April 9-10) , where I can properly introduce him to the city that started it all for me. I’m proud of the city that provided me with my education. I’m proud of my school for creating an atmosphere where we were challenged to think outside the many artistic boxes we encountered. And I’m proud to be a Tyler School of Art, Temple University 2012 alumni. I ❤️ Philly, and what it has enabled me to give back to you, my customers and fellow artists.

Check it out! We just launched our new Mismash Homestead Sport on the website! This new yarn is a combo of 2 colorways, to make a brand new one. Our Homestead Sport is a 2-ply, so we thought- why not take 2 of our customer favorites, make them each their own ply, and then spin them together?! The results blew us away, and opened a massive Pandora’s box of color combos! I mean, if you thought you were getting color shifting before, wait until you use these babies! New Sweater KAL, AND HAIRCUT!- who dis?! Our #farmhousecardikal, kicked off yesterday! I meant to get out a newsletter for the KAL, but I was delayed by a few days because…well, just wait for the Homestead Sport update that is coming tomorrow…. it’s massive and we have been skeining and labeling all of your favorite colors that have been out of stock for some time, and some brand spankin new ones! “Farmhouse Cardi” is now live on our website and on Ravelry!
We have also added 26 beautiful kits (the 1st one being the original colors used). *links are in our bio*
This cardigan uses our ROAN DK for the larger stripe portions of the body and ribbing, and Homestead Sport for the thinner stripes in the body. It is knit flat, using simple raglan increases for shoulder shaping. It is meant to be oversized, so it is suggested to have at least 4-8” of positive ease when choosing a size, but most importantly it is #sizeinclusive!
I hope you are able to wrap up in this warm and snuggly cardigan, in your own little creative corner, and that it brings you as much inspiration as it did, me.
