Jin Guangyao: Fitness tip, never stop pushing yourself. Some say 8 hours sleep is enough, why not 9? Why not 12? Strive for greatness.
Jiang Cheng: next time you are working out, do 15 push up instead of 10. Run ten miles instead of five, eat a whole cake instead of just a slice, burn your ex house down. You can do it, I believe in you.
Lan Xichen: there were so many mixed messages there, that I can't—
Lan Xichen: A-Yao wait! This isn’t you! You have gone mad with power!
Jin Guangyao: well of course.
Jin Guangyao: have you ever tried going mad without power?
Jin Guangyao: it’s boring.
Once again, you can tell this is going to be a series because I keep re-using the background, whoops. Anyway, enjoy this XiCheng piece! :D

I had a lot of fun with this pose actually uwu
WangXian personality swap
So I was watching this and the idea was born!
It goes like this:
- Wei Ying’s parents die when he is 4, and the hotel where his parents left him charged him with labor, treating him like a servant until they eventually kicked him out a year later, he still spends 4 years on the street, earning food and the occasional roof over his head working for a lot of different people. He learns to be meek and quiet to avoid beatings; when Sect Leader Jiang finds him when he is 9 yo, he keeps his low profile and servitude under Madam Yu’s watchful eyes, who doesn’t want to have anything to do with the brat until she sees Wei Ying protect Jiang Cheng from a rabid dog, despite the small kid shaking in fear, from then on, the Matriarch takes Wei Wuxian under her wing, personally training him
- On the other side, in Gusu, Lan Wangji suffers his mother’s absence, but while he normally is a shy, introverted type of child, he now remembers the last words of his mother to him “A-Zhan looks so cute when he smiles, your smile is like gentle moonlight in a dark sky, won’t A-Zhan keep smiling for mother?”. A few months after little Lan Zhan understood that his mother wasn’t opening the doors ever again, he cried on his brother’s arms, telling him between sobs how much he wanted to be the smiling child his mother wanted him to be, Lan Huan promised himself to help his little brother in anything he needed, even in this
- So Wei Wuxian grows with his mother’s talent and strength and his father’s personality and looks. Under Madam Yu’s training he flourishes as the perfect bodyguard for the sect heirs, he raises as head disciple and no one bats an eye, because is the perfect position for him to take his place as Jiang Cheng’s right hand man when the times comes, he is serious and seemingly cold with his silver eyes that glare the other disciples to perfect behavior when the leaders are near. But everyone in Lotus Pier know that he still has a soft spot for the younger juniors and that both Jiang kids are fiercely protective of their brother, being that many people used to bullied him, feared him or pushed him aside for his stern looks and position in the sect
- While Lan Wangji could never be someone one would call ‘extroverted’, he grows up to be considerably friendlier than when he was younger. His uncle still points him as head disciplinarian, and with this responsibility he takes care of not only reinforce the disciplines, but also to explain why they are necessary and to ensure that every punishment is fair
- They both met the first night of the lectures, when one Jiang disciple gets caught after curfew, Wei Wuxian almost sighs and glares at him, as the head disciple, is his duty to ensure all his shidis are behaving correctly as their standing requires and that they don’t cause troubles. He grabs the disciple by the neck of his robe (he is not fond of human contact after his years in the street) and makes him and he himself bow to the Lan disciple who caught his shidi climbing the roofs after hours. When he raises with an apology in his mouth he has to stop for a moment, because in front of him is the most beautiful person he has ever seen, with a soft smile that shines beautifully like the full moon in the sky, with golden eyes that speak of amusement more than annoyance for the obvious rule breaking; Wei Wuxian feels his heart melt a little when those gorgeous eyes look at him with open curiosity
- Lan Wangji is curious, he has heard stories about the impressive, cold head disciple of the Jiang Sect, but he never thought the guy could be so handsome! clean features, silky head, beautiful silver eyes and elegant poise, besides, over the weeks he also shows to be a dedicated student, and excellent mentor to his sect siblings, ugh, a person can’t be this perfect but also this cold!, Lan Wangji despairs.
Lan Wangji gets cursed, and has been transformed into one magnificient, giant white Dog.
The only way to reverse it is a True Love’s kiss.Wei Wuxian trembles, in his panic, a few terryfied sobs escape his lips, making the dog’s his husband’s ears and tail drop even more, in this form is even easier for Lan Xichen to read his brother, and he looks down right miserable
Xichen sighs, resigned to not get his brother back today…. or any day of this month probably
“Wuxian” Xichen says softly, even so the man winces and whimpers, the dog that is his brother looks like he wants to cry “It’s okay, we can try another day…” Wei Wuxian darts behind the first jade, hiding from the view of his cursed husband, Wangji’s body grows tense and Xichen can see how hard he is containing the jealous growl as to not scare Wei Wuxian more, Lan Xichen sighs again
It’s been a few weeks since the couple returned, the juniors that went with them walking with the massive white dog next to them, Wei Wuxian nowhere to be seen
“Hanguang-Jun has been cursed” Sizhui explained, referring to the animal next to him “Senior Wei told us to come first while he investigated more”
Xichen vagely knew that Wei Wuxian was scared of dogs, but he didn’t know the full extent of that phobia until a few days later when Wei Wuxian, the Yiling Patriarch, ran from the Jingshi where Wangji was resting with panic, screaming apologizes and crying (our of fear, frustration or both). Since then, his brother in law dedicated himself to research the curse and find a way to break it, and the irony of the cure almost made Xichen laugh in bitterness
The curse was, of course, a love curse, placed by the ghost of a resentful woman who was abandoned to die by a pack of wolves by her husband, so while the ghost itself had been taken care of, she placed the curse on the cultivators, transforming Lan Wangji in the animal Wei Wuxian loathe and fear the most, and the only way to break it, was for the loved one to overcome their fears and place a kiss of true love on their cursed partner.
After finding the cure, Wei Wuxian was determined to get his husband back, but every time he tried his fear drown him, rendering him unable to get closer than half a li. Wangji seemed to understand this and only lay down on his stomach, trying to make himself as smaller as possible, quite the challenge considering how big the dog is. After a month of this “trying” sessions, Wei Wuxian gives up for now and flies to Lotus Pier and he remains there for a whole month
Lan Wangji is miserable that month, Xichen takes a look at the depressed figure of his brother and can’t help making a few comparisons to his time mourning Wei Wuxian, not even Sizhui can help him cheer up this time
After the month ends and Xichen starts to resign himself to never see his babu brother as a human again, Wei Wuxian comes back, Sect Leader Jiang and Sect Leader Jin following him closely behind. ’Ah! ’ Xichen realizes, of course if theres someone willing to help Wuxian with his fear is his shidi and nephew. Lan Huan is glad that the relationship with them has become better with the years
“Wow, you really weren’t kidding” Jiang Wanyin mutters when they see Wangji sitting in front of them, Xichen can see his brother containing the way he wants to bounce and pounce and lick Wei Wuxian and the growl he wants to aim at the sect leader, he most definetly doesnt want to cause more distress to his husband, even so, the first jade can see him practically vibrating in place
“C'mon, you already pet fairy, this is the same, just that is just husband” when Wuxian makes no movement from where he is petrified, Jin Ling tries again “Think of him as a giant bunny” the words do get a short laugh out of the Yiling Patriarch
Wei Wuxian takes a deep breath and starts walking to Wangji, he closes his eyes and, shivering, he bends to press his lips to the fur on the dog’s head. The curse breaks, leaving a thankfully clothed Lan Wangji sitting gracefully on his knees
“Lan Zhan!!” Wei Wuxian cries as he hugs his husband, tears of joy, fear, exhaustion and concern spill from his eyes
Xichen turns to the other sect leaders, a clear relief under their twin irritated expressions, they have must been worried about Wei Wuxian, he considers
“Sect Leader Jiang, Sect Leader Jin, may I invite you a cup of tea?” He might as well ask, seeing as the lovebirds wont be out of each other’s embrace any time soon, Xichen is glad they at least did this in the back hills to give them some face (not that they arent shameless on their own)
Both of his companions nod, Jin Ling going to invite Sizhui as well, leaving the lovers to their much awaited reunion
Here’s the edited, posted in AO3 version!!!
fic: Internet Boyfriends, pt. 2
Part 1
“He’s my boyfriend from Yunmeng,” Lan Zhan says with a blank face.
Lan Huan stares down at the collection of framed photos on his younger brother’s desk. He doesn’t know if he wants to laugh or cry. A-Zhan’s first boyfriend…and it’s the kid that got kicked out of summer camp years back and had teased Lan Zhan until they ended up fighting. A-Zhan’s first boyfriend…and it’s the result of an internet chat room encounter.
“…Congratulations,” Lan Huan eventually settles upon.
“Thank you,” Lan Zhan says stoically. He returns to rearranging his collection of photos in some precise order unknown to Lan Huan.
The collection of photos faintly reminds Lan Huan of a shrine. An almost excessive amount of pristine images secured in wooden frames decorate the desk. There’s even a loose red ribbon situated just so in front of the central image. The central image, of course, is a young man clad in only swimming shorts. Helpfully and possessively, Lan Zhan had draped another red ribbon around the framed picture to censor what would undoubtedly be Wei Ying’s nipples.
“You two exchanged a lot of pictures then?” Lan Huan decides to ask. He can only hope that Lan Zhan is not being catfished but considering the variation of photos displayed, it seems like it truly is Wei Ying.
“Yes,” Lan Zhan says. Contemplatively, he shifts one of the images away from Lan Huan’s view.
Lan Huan stares helplessly at his younger brother. He thinks he should ask A-Yao for some advice, well-known for corralling his half-brothers. On that thought, he slips out of his brother’s room with only a hum of acknowledgement from his brother.
happy birthday to HIM <3
this has alt text. extended description under the cut.
Lan Xichen, drawn in loose, sketchy lines, sits with a teacup in his hands, his wide sleeves pooled around him. He glances at something off to the left of the frame with a small, amused smile.
