How liberating it is to realize that I am a lesbian not because I ‘identify’ with ‘lesbian culture’, look and dress a certain way, see myself in other lesbians, or *suppresses laughter* enjoy the ~lesbian aesthetics~ and the word lesbian, but only because I am a female exclusively attracted to other females.

I can be whatever kind of person I want to be and nothing I do can make me more or less lesbian.

you know what’s really gross to me?? when parents (esp mothers) of butch/gnc women and girls act like not being able to force their daughters to wear dresses is some big loss. you know what you can do instead? help her pick out a suit. give her money for a haircut at that fancy barbershop. let her dress how she wants, and don’t throw a fit when little suzy turns out to be a tomboy, because feeling like your parents are disappointed in you is the worst feeling in the world.
