#miraculous theory

After Marinetts gives Adrien his first friendship kiss, Adrien he can’t stop thinking about their future friendship children. Adrien can’t wait to have a friendship daughter with Marinette and name her Amie.

zoufantastical:

Is Hawmoth’s Miraculous Corrupted?

Remember on the origins episode when Nooroo told Gabriel that the miraculous are not suppose to be used for malicious intent? I truly believe there are consequences for this and Gabriel is suffering them as time passes by. Think about it.

First we know that even dormant, the miraculous can be used. Example is Gabriel sensing emotions, Nathalie sensing when there is a sentimonster, Marinette activating and using her tactical vision. Why does this matter? Because it means he’s using its energy as long as he wears it, derogating him even more than we, the audience, and him realize.

When Gabriel first used the moth miraculous, Wayzz described it to Master Fu as a “negative aura”. I theorize this negative aura is enhancing Gabriel’s (mental) desire for power. Dark power (also as Wayzz called it). Corrupting it [the miraculous] and in a way, damaging Gabriel’s psyche even more.

It’s also confirmed that Miraculous, when used for the wrong reasons can create atrocities. A known example was when Master Fu used the peacock miraculous to create a sentimonster that mingled with his anger (and slight hatred/frustration of being a guardian against his will) towards the miracle box, causing it to be “hungry” for miracle boxes.

We know a physical wound on the miraculous can harm the person wearing its’ body. Who’s to say that Gabriel’s negative aura isn’t taking a toll on the miraculous and/or Nooroo?

I want to clarify that I am not excusing Gabriel’s actions in any way or form. I sincerely believe Gabriel has always been a manipulative, narcissisticsociopath. He has a very good way of hiding it by using everyone like pawns in his twisted chess game.

I also believe he only cares about his wife and son in a twisted, obsessive way. Which leads me to believe either his wife isn’t as innocent as we think she is or his wife was beneficial in a way like his son is that it made Gabriel believe in his twisted mind that he “loves and misses” her. She probably even knows something about the miraculous that has Gabriel so hellbent and power hungry to bring her back.

Ever since Gabriel gained the moth miraculous, he has been slipping more and more into madness. Being Hawkmoth left him so obsessed to be the bad guy, he’s losing sight of his “real goal”. He exploits his son more and more and puts him in dangerous circumstances. He is willing to manipulate and torture Adrien mentally and physically. He is willing to use Nathalie knowing her health worsens as she uses the peacock miraculous. Granted he doesn’t know she has feelings for him but if he knew, he will also take advantage of that.

Therefore, I believe Gabriel’s downfall will be his alter ego-Hawkmoth. In his desperation and quest for power, he’s corrupting the miraculous and it’s going to drive him mad, if it hasn’t started already. It may look like his plans are getting more devious and elaborate, but this is at a cost of his mental and physical health. He’s going to break and when it happens, it’s going to be very nasty (also extremely heartbreaking for Adrien).

I also want to add that, a Miraculous suffering from a negative aura/dark power and having a wound, may very well be a defense mechanism. It could be its way of allowing the user use it maliciously but at the cost of their health and sanity.

I am strongly certain that the peacock miraculous didn’t just get a crack on the brooch. This is a magical jewel and I doubt it will be so easily broken. No; I believe that with time using the miraculous in a negative way, it will cause it to physically show its wound. Maybe as a way to hurt the user even more by sharing its effect and prevent its evil use.

Gabriel’s miraculous may not show its corruption now,but if he keeps it up, its going to crack… and eventually so will him.

OH I JUST HAD AN IDEA

So I was sitting here thinking about how stupid overpowered it’d be if the power of the rooster miraculous was giving himself any superpower he wants, no strings attached. I thought about how bs that is from a writing perspective, and how the other crazily OP miraculous have serious limitations and downsides, and figured that I just… don’t believe it? And then I was like, omg what if that’s the point?

Okay, so I went into this knowing that if something is “sublime”, it’s impressive, and sublimation in chemistry refers to matter going from a solid state straight to gaseous form. For example, dry ice goes straight from a solid to a vapor without melting into a liquid first. I decided to look up a dictionary definition just in case I’m missing something, and one definition for “sublime” caught my eye:

impressing the mind with a sense of grandeur or power; inspiring awe, veneration, etc.:

Namely impressing the mind with a sense of power.

And then I thought about Marc’s lesson of the day: to be more confident in his abilities. Ladybug tells him that he’s too hard on himself and that he’s more talented than he gives himself credit for. After this, he names his hero form Coq Courage or Rooster Bold. What does confidence have to do with the power of choosing whatever power you want?

What if his real power is that he can do anything his opponent believes he can do?

That would give the miraculous its much needed nerf and make the power a lot more interesting. When Rooster gave himself the power to score every time he shoots, Penalty believed him, and he scored a ton of goals using magic.

If my idea is true, there would be a gamble between that outcome and the other outcome. He could’ve told her that he has the power to choose any power he wants, and that he chooses soccer powers, but Penalty could’ve told him he’s full of bs. No way there’s a zodiac miraculous with unlimited power that’s only being used for the first time today by some noob. Alternatively, if he hadn’t already been scoring goals on his own, maybe she wouldn’t have believed he could be good at soccer. Now, he’d either have to twist out of it by convincing her, retransform and choose a more believable power, or be powerless.

If I’m on the right track, then maybe the show isn’t telling us the whole truth so that it could be a twist later or something. The more the miraculous is successfully used, the stronger reputation it builds, so it’s easier to keep up the act. But if its true rules become common knowledge, sublimation becomes practically useless. Ideally, it can create a solid superpower, but that can easily be vaporized.

That’s why confidence is key. The holder would need to bluff about how powerful they really are in order to make that power real.

My theory version of this power, whether it’s true or not, is still busted, but at least it has a dangerous risk behind it, like the rabbit for example. Plus, it forces the holder to hold themselves back so they don’t claim to be able to do something unbelievably strong. If used well, it holds immense power, but if the holder makes mistakes, they can be in serious trouble, especially if they fail to cover it up, in which case the power has the potential to become permanently useless.

the REAL scary part of this episode two: electric boogaloo

https://ct-multifandom.tumblr.com/post/658852572552183808/the-real-scary-part-of-this-episode

Hey guys, remember this post I made right after Wishmaker came out? It feels like half of tumblr’s ml regulars have seen it and freaked out over it, and I’ve even seen people citing this post in the tag without actually @ -ing me. but if you’ve managed to avoid it I’d recommend catching up before reading the squeakuel.

Edit: holy crap I wrote 90% of this post in November right when this episode came out and completely forgot about it. *Francine voice* I’m a failure. Sorry guys, better late than never.

In the last post, I basically saw the image of Adrien’s parents with their eye colors as the opposite of what they’re “supposed” to be, and went on this whole deep dive into theories reminiscent of the parent trap and celebrity wife swap.

Thing is, though, Gabriel Agreste takes place nine episodes before Wishmaker and BOY does it have more evidence for my theories. Literally brought a tear to my eye when I noticed this one detail below.

Why haven’t I seen a single soul bring this up before me?

When Marino slides past Gabriel’s finger print scanning security tablet, every single person before her scanned their finger, and they clearly all checked out, but she made sure not to have to touch it because she knew she wouldn’t pass. After this, Chloe insists Gabriel watch her video, so Marino “trips” and throws her tall box of plates at Chloe. This causes Chloe to drop her phone as Adrien jumps to catch it BUT ALSO Gabriel drops his tablet, which BREAKS. The screen doesn’t just shatter, it totally shuts down.

Who are the only people who arrive at the party after this occurs?

Felix and Amelie. Neither of them get their fingerprints scanned while everyone else save Marino did. This is such a subtle yet deliberate detail, so I can’t be surprised that it was missed, but I can’t believe nobody’s made a post about it here yet. The only conclusion I can really draw from this is that Felix, Amelie, or both have fingerprints that don’t match to the ones they should have according to the data in Gabriel’s system.

Everyone’s already analyzed the strong implication that Felix is a sentimonster a million times, so I won’t go deep into that, and these theories operate under the assumption that it’s true, but can sentiFelix explain the possibility of Felix having the “wrong” fingerprint?

Human sentis should theoretically have fingerprints because sentis made with the intention of being humans have all traits that an organic human would have. I’d imagine a human senti would inherently have a unique fingerprint, and Gabriel must have something in the system for Felix regardless because he’s an invited guest. Gabriel and Felix are both aware of Felix being a sentimonster, so even if this isn’t the case, they’d work around it.

But something that stuck out to me was how Gabriel threatened Felix with the same ring he’d soon fiddle with while manipulating Adrien in Mega Leech and more explicitly in Ephemeral. From here on out I’ll be operating under the idea that the rings are the amok object for SentiFelix and SentiAdrien. Was Gabriel bluffing to Felix about the ring being his amok object? Did he really not know whose it was? Did he only figure out it was Adrien’s, and not Felix’s, after attempting and failing to control Felix with it? Are the rings two halves of a single object with a single amok in it like the record from Crocoduel, and both of the boys aren’t tied to one specific ring each?

Here’s a kind of crazy concept: Felix and Adrien swapped places at some point in the past. That would explain Gabriel being unable to magically influence Felix with a ring he thought was made for Felix, because the one he knows as Felix was born as Adrien, and vice versa.

Back to Wishmaker, Adrien is missing a lot of his childhood memories. In my last post I talked about the green eyed woman vs the blue eyed woman. I’ll continue that thought here, so if you have no idea what I’m talking about, peek at the linked post. Our Adrien remembers the blue eyed woman being his birth mother, but all image evidence of Emilie shows her with green eyes

When Felix looks at the portrait of the green-eyed woman, his expression is oddly tender, like more genuine than we’ve ever seen him before. This implies that he has some fond memories of her, which is interesting because we don’t know about any interactions between them, and Adrien doesn’t seem particularly close with Amelie. Could this green-eyed woman be Felix’s birth mother? He’s already a huge mommy’s boy to green-eyed Amelie.

That sort of brings me to another possibility that I explored in the last post: could Amelie and Emilie have switched places? Idk how they’d pull off the massive girlboss gaslighting operation needed to make that work (well, I have one idea) but that would explain why green-eyed Amelie didn’t scan her finger either; it would have come back as the wrong print.

So, in summary, several concepts:

  • Adrien was born as Felix to the blue-eyed woman and the green-eyed man (who probably died a bit ago). Felix was born as Adrien to the green-eyed woman.
  • Potentially, they weren’t swapped at birth but grew up this way too, hence all the family photos and Adrien’s missing childhood memories
  • Le Paon scrubbed memories that were inconvenient to her
  • Amelie and Emilie swapped places at some point somehow
  • Literally everyone is a freaking sentimonster except for Le Paon (blue eyes?) and maybe Felix’s dead dad hence why she manipulated everyone so easily and why the two families are like mirror image clones of each other

To close this off, I want to type out a big DISCLAIMER. I’ve seen a lot of people take my theories (general) really seriously, so for that reason I want to make this clear. I notice a lot of little details that many people do not, and these details are Evidence. Of what? Well, I can never be truly sure, so for that reason I spitball a bunch of Ideas. Sometimes they’re cool or interesting or fanfic-like, sometimes they’re realistic, sometimes they’re crazy, but they’re all just Ideas.

For example, I recently made a theory that Marc and Nath would do a kwami swap, and I came across several posts where people referenced it outside the realm of my blog. There’s nothing wrong with believing one of my Ideas, but I wouldn’t say that I think they’ll do a kwami swap. I think that’s very plausible, and I’d love to see it, but I’m not 100% sure anything will happen. What I do know is the Evidence: there are several images associated with season 4 of a rooster holder who isn’t Coq, and that’s what’s important. My best conclusion was that it’s Nath, thus the goat would be open to Marc, but there is no Evidence to support another goat holder. Maybe the rooster is actually Aspik 3.0, or an Adrienette child from the future, or Spock, the Rock, Doc Ock, or Hulk Hogan.

Similarly, when I make these crazy sentimonster theories they’re all just Ideas. Some of them are even semi-ironic or just “this would be really compelling but I would never image they’d make it canon”. I even change my mind about my own thoughts a lot, especially when new info comes up. The Evidence in this case is that Felix and Amelie didn’t get their fingerprints scanned, and this was very deliberately framed by the writers as well as the story boarders. Also, Felix has affectionate memories about the woman in the painting. Everything else is possible explanations for why this is, but those facts are what really matter.

I can’t wait to see what they really mean in canon, and what other foreshadowing we will even have missed up until some kind of lore reveal, but for the time being, this is the Part 2 of things that caught my attention surrounding the Agreste/GdV lore. Interpret it as you will.

Analyzing the Penalteam spoiler(s)

Usually these types of spoilers have no meat to talk about, but a couple things caught my eye in the latest Penalteam one.

1) Didier Roustan is a guest star in this episode. This isn’t surprising to me because Astruc said there’d be a football/soccer episode with a special guest and he posted a cropped image of cartoon Didier’s concept art. French sports fans quickly figured out it was him from his style. Plus, he’s been in the special guest section of the s4 end credits this whole time along with Franck Dubosc, Philippe Candeloro, and Veronique Berecz.

2) I noticed something odd about the people present in this scene

Since Ms. Bustier is here, it seems like the soccer game is a class field trip, but some people are missing. I bet Lila’s just skipping as usual, but Kim, Max, and Nath aren’t here either. This wouldn’t be the first time Nath disappears when physical activity is involved, but according to Winny, he’s supposed to get a miraculous this episode, and you’d think a competitive, athletic game with a famous sports journalist is something Kim would never miss. I wonder where they and Max went. I’m guessing there will be an explanation because-

3) the number of people present is very convenient. A typical soccer team is comprised of nine people, and there are eighteen people in the collage part of the intro, perfect to play a full game. Subtracting Marinette and Adrien, there are nine kids on the field in the spoiler. There are also seven kids not present. If Shadowmoth’s villain(s) transform/mind-control etc everyone here except Mari and Adrien, who get away as usual, then there will be a perfect nine-on-nine game.

I predict that Chloe, Sabrina, Alya, Nino, Mylene, Juleka, Rose, Alix, and Ivan will be Penalteam. Ladybug and Chat Noir need an opposing team, so they’ll recruit Pegasus, King Monkey, Vesperia, Viperion, and Ryuko, but they’re short two players. This is where Ladybug gives Rooster Bold and Caprikid miraculous for the first time as Winny spoiled. That’s why Kim, Max, and Nath are conveniently elsewhere when the conflict goes down.

“But what about Minotaurox and Traquemoiselle?” I know right? I think Ivan will get his miraculous in Risk and Sabrina in Strike Back. I’m a bit nervous for their screen time, but I can see the ox miraculous helping Ladybug defeat some difficult villains like that big robot dude and the dog helping her physically locate the elusive Shadowmoth (spoilers indicate he’s hiding in the Louvre?). Ivan is part of the team in Strike Back, and we haven’t heard much about Sabrina, but her hero name implies a superpower like “detection”.

4) what’s going on with the villain? Usually, in a guest episode, the guest star is the akuma, but not always. Veronique Berecz was just herself in The Puppeteer 2.0 while Manon was the villain. We know Chloe will be akumatized into Penalty, but that’s all we’ve seen of the villain. SM can only send one akuma at a time, but it can influence more than one person.

I’m thinking, since Penalty’s akumatized object is a whistle, her power will be controlling people by blowing into it, which is how she influences the rest of the team. It would be kind of like Darkblade and his knights. It’s possible that Didier will also be a villain, but I don’t know. Since he’s a journalist/commentator, I can see him narrating what’s happening in the fight and even helping Ladybug out that way, but maybe he plays a minor role as himself only outside of the fight like Veronique.

5) I don’t expect massive plot progression from this episode because there’s a guest star and two new heroes, and it’s The Soccer Episode, but I feel like there just miiight be some Chloe stuff. I mean, other than for comic relief, why put such an episode as the 24th? Usually the 24th episode is relevant in some way.

In the past, Chloe has been akumatized into powerful villains over serious things, but in season four she gets two new forms that are both silly and caused by random tantrums. I think that her anger over stupid stuff is indicative of some deeper negative emotions. In Queen Banana, she was akumatized over the movie group ignoring her instead of indulging her controlling ideas, but on a deeper level, she was jealous of the positive attention Zoe was getting. How easily the kids at school started liking her and showering her with stuff like lead roles in a film. This was also the episode where she “broke up” with Adrien at the end, but Zoe said she’d always love her.

I think we might see something similar in Penalteam. Chloe will be akumatized over something dumb and bratty like nobody wanting to play with her, her team having terrible chemistry and sucking while Marinette’s team thrives under her leadership, her getting second choice because of Marinette’s good luck and getting stuck with the less athletic kids, etc. But I think underneath it all, she’ll really be upset because she will once again feel left out. All her classmates are friends who can work well together, but nobody wants her there to spoil the fun, much less boss them around.

Maybe I’m being too ambitious here, but I think this might be the episode where she loses, or at least starts to lose, Sabrina. She lost Adrien in QB, and Sabrina’s all she really has left except Zoe whose attention she rejects. Since Sabrina will be receiving a miraculous, Ladybug needs a reason to trust her. She needs to think for herself and be ready to serve the greater good, not Chloe, and I don’t see how she can naturally have that change during an action-packed finale. Maybe Chloe will finally get to Sabrina and she’ll realize this is it. Maybe she’ll have time to sit on it, and only make her decision later. But it’d make sense if Chloe’s repeated poor actions cause her to lose another person, especially the one who’s the closest to her and who gives her the most power.

Without Sabrina, Chloe is kinda screwed. Sabrina carries her stuff, does her homework, organizes everything, plays all her games, backs her up, and most importantly, lets her feel powerful. If not for her, Chloe would just be some jerk that no one wants to be around who happens to have enough money and connections to have her way, but Sabrina is the one who hypes her up into the Queen B she is. If she turned her back on her, she’d lose confidence. That’s something that would truly make this episode 24 special, a development in Sabrina, and Chloe finally reaching that point where she has no one there for her except her detested half-sister, which finally creates the potential for actual development and learning a permanent lesson rather than putting on a good face to get Ladybug’s approval on occasion.

6) last thing, my guesses always change for these, and they’re usually impossible to guess, but I never stop making theories lmao. Now that we know what the tools are for the rooster and goat miraculous (pen and paintbrush respectively), my guess for the powers changes to “inspiration” and “passion”. That’s it, final answer. If I change my mind again, or if one of my old guesses was right, pretend this never happened, but I feel like we’ve gotten a lot of info/spoilers about them versus the other new heroes, so it’s nice to be able to have guesses actually based on something.

As is typical ct-multifandom fashion, I’ll close out this post with a prediction that has absolutely nothing to do with the topic of the post or anything I discussed. Derailment time! I predict that the new character from the future, who I think will show up in the finale, probably Strike Back, is going to be future Max/Pegasus. Why? ‘Cause it makes sense to me and I want to see him. He’s one of Bunnyx’s closest friends, his miraculous would be one of the ones that’d get the biggest power boost from an adult user, and the two of them are probably a yin-yang pair (ask me about those btw). Also his name miiiight’ve been mentioned in a comedically bleeped-out spoiler Lindalee Rose interview about the s4 finale, saying “beep” is gonna be there to mess up SM’s plan, but maybe it was “Plagg” or someone else. I’ve been thinking about this for a while now. Manifesting future Max. But seriously, ask me about yin-yang pairs.

Final update to my theory until we get like,,, actual Penalteam teasers.

I was a little right and a little wrong. I was right about Marc having the rooster miraculous, but I was wrong about the names, and I imagine rooster!Marc and goat!Nath are the “correct” distribution of miraculouses.

What does that mean about the intro? Neither Coq Courage nor Caprikid match the silhouettes of the goat and rooster even closely.

My final theory is that there will be another Aspic/Viperion situation where Ladybug initially chooses the “wrong” holders for each miraculous, much like most of the fandom apparently. She’ll start with rooster!Nath and Goat!Marc, then realize they’d work better the other way around and switch them.

I hope that would imply some character development or at least in-universe character analysis from Ladybug as she realizes she misinterpreted them.

Tangentially related, but was the most impactful, iconic, plot-relevant episode of ml ever, Party Crasher, foreshadowing Penalteam a whole season ahead of time? Or am I reaching

Lastly, remember when Gloob literally said that Marc was gonna get the rooster and Nath the goat back in like April or something in a miraculous holders “theory” video and most of us didn’t believe them? What a troll.

So… trailer. I have tons of thoughts but rn I will only be talking about the ones that I don’t expect other people to talk about.

First: in the scene with Catwalker blasting off, we see a little kid wearing a black cat costume reuniting with a black cat. Could this be the villain behind Kuro Neko? It reminded me a lot of the frog kid from that other spoiler.

Could they be related in some way? Are they in an under-10 biker gang? Are they the lost boys from Peter Pan? I just find it odd that there are two new, small furry children getting involved in some allegedly serious episodes.

Next: NEW HEROES! Yay! My favorite thing!

I must say, whatever hairstyle or lack thereof I was expecting Minotaurox to have, I wasn’t expecting him to just be straight up Ivan. Usually the more minor characters have different looks that are good disguises while the more major character look similar to their normal selves, but Ivan is Ivan. Love to seem him doe. Ivan stans, our time is near.

Also. That’s Marc. Like three days ago I reblogged this post @theultracharmingladynoire started about the Gloob Alerta Miraculous from whenever ago that had him in it, and I recommend you guys read it, but

https://ct-multifandom.tumblr.com/post/671592073641721856/that-being-said

TL;DR although this is literally undeniably Marc, Nathaniel also uses the rooster miraculous at some point and someone (Marc) uses the goat miraculous.

Casual reminder that it’s confirmed that all four remaining superheroes will show up in the last four episodes of season four. Now to continue,

(Click on that silhouette image I’m too lazy to crop it) Rooster!Marc looks completely different from who I can only assume to be Rooster!Nath. The former has a skintight red/brown chest, a green coat tail like Rena, black skintight pants, and gold boots. The rooster from leaked concept art has a white chest, orange pants, and white boots. This concept art lines up with the rooster in the intro who has a fluffy chest and pants, which resembles the blurry shapes in the concept drawing.

The way this connects to my theory is that it confirms that the two roosters are two different superheroes, not one pretending to be the other. But why? Why did the miraculous change holders? Maybe Nathaniel broke some rules and got benched, or maybe Shadowmoth got to him first for whatever reason? Does he know/learn something he’s not supposed to? Idk. But I’d love to hear any ideas as to why this happens. I also wonder if it’s before or after when Marc uses the goat miraculous.

The last thing I’ll say is I actually kinda liked Pegasus/a horse user throwing the starman looking guy into the sun. We already knew they can do that, so it’d be weird if they didn’t. Coming up with stupidly convoluted solutions to problems that could be solved by exercising their OP powers gets a little bs-like after a while. I’m hoping to see future Pegasus eventually if not soon, but seeing a horse portal implies that there are other heroes besides the team we saw in the stuff pushed by Gloob. Since it’s the finale, you’d expect everyone to be there, so maybe they have different teams dealing with different threats at the same time, or there are just many different things happening at different times.

Edit:*squints*

1. When will there be time for Ivan and Sabrina? I mean I wouldn’t be surprised if Sabrina only gets her miraculous in the finale, but Ivan already has one by Strike Back. I hope we’ll get some kind of character development for those four ‘cause wtf. I mean, there could still be someone in Kuro Neko… but. Hrm.

2. Idk if this is confirmation that Rooster!Marc is the one named Coq Courage or if Winny is trying to be vague, but like, there’s no way they went through a late redesign or something. Will Penalteam have an Aspic situation where Ladybug figures she gave them miraculous that don’t fit them at first and then swaps them? The intro implies that when they do their transformations, it’s the opposite combination from what we see here.

The plot thickens. Help me out here

I wanted to make a compilation of all theories that I have for the remaining episodes of the season but I am lazy so just spitballing now.

I think Coq Courage is actually Marc, and not Nathaniel. Which also kind of makes sense (At least for me lol). The miraculous of the rooster is actually a Thumb Ring, and I really can’t see Nathaniel wearing it?? However with Marc, it goes really well with his character design as well.

Also,

The hair is BLACK at the roots??

But that’s not just the thing. Marc is a shy kid, just like Juleka. And Roosters are LOUD. And his superhero name also quite emphasises on the “courage” aspect. Maybe the miraculous will help himgain confidence and speak out? Thoughts and more thoughts

Yeah. I a gree. If you look closely at his face you can notice that Coq Courage has an upturned nose, just Like Marc’s. And Nath has deeper set eyes.

1. EXCELLENT addition

2. His hair is red bc he loves his boyfriend <3

man smart ppl here well ima go back to the not smart ppl cave where i am the population see ya

Wait a damn minute ‘cause you guys are right, but I’m also right and that doesn’t check out. I went and collected hella screenshots to compare some stuff to try and comprehend what’s happening rn.

I saw @festering-bacteria ‘s post about this and they pointed out the difference in skin color between them, and how Gloob’s screenshot matches Nathaniel more closely. I agree with them, and I messaged them about some other stuff that I will support with the hella screenshots right now.

Okay, first of all these are their silhouettes in the intro. (I made the image weird and combined to meet the image limit without cutting the post). When I made my theory post about Coq Courage, I pointed out how suspicious it is that every visible silhouette, even Traquemoiselle’s, is centered around the character’s head (and torso, if it fits) except for his. His is centered around his torso and legs. I said they probably cropped his pose oddly to deliberately hide something. When Gloob released the Strike Back spoiler, I thought maybe they cut off his head because they thought we’d have a collective aneurism upon seeing his hairstyle and deemed it a spoiler. I’m still not 100% sure why they did that, but I’ll get back to it in a minute.

I messaged festering-bacteria that my strongest evidence of which one’s which are their body types. Marc has more of an upside down triangle body type whereas Nath is more rectangular. I think Marc’s body type fits the only image of a goat user we have while Nathaniel’s doesn’t.

On the other hand, we have three rooster user images: the silhouette in the intro, Gloob’s Alerta Miraculous, and the concept art Lindalee Rose posted a video of that one time.

It’s pretty incomprehensible in my opinion, but based on the typical concept art format, the leftmost rendition is his final canon design while the other two are old and discarded. I think he more closely resembles Nath, even if just by the pose.

Here are more images from the actual 3D show (sorry for the crusty quality, I pulled them off YouTube for the sake of convenience).

The top two show them with their legs bent in a similar way to the rooster hero in the intro. As you can see, Marc’s calf is lower than Nath’s and more… spread out? I guess? Marc’s leg also becomes thinner above the knee while Nath’s gets wider.

Last thing for this train of thought: the shapes of the kwamis’ eyes typically resemble the eyes of their holders, and they all have some sort of resemblance to their holders regardless. Plus, the color schemes of the kwamis match their color schemes/their akuma’s. Here are Nath and Marc’s official renders compared to Orikko and Ziggy.

Definitely think they match in this combination.

THAT BEING SAID

I cannot deny that the miraculous alert screenshot literally matches Marc’s profile from Gabriel Agreste almost exactly. So wtf is going on?

My best guess is that at some point between Kuro Neko and Strike Back, Ladybug gives the rooster miraculous to Nath and the goat miraculous to Marc, and at some point they swap. Why? Idk. But I feel like the evidence that Nath is intended to be the default rooster holder while Marc is the default goat holder is too strong. Based on the intro, when they do their initial transformation sequences in whichever episode they first appear in, that is the combination they’re in, but something may have caused them to trade.

Back to the ml alert, the rooster holder’s body is cut off by Minotaurox’s arm, so we can’t see if the suit matches the other two rooster images we’ve seen. If I’m on the right track, it’s possible that:

  • this swap is part of Ladybug’s big plan, but Rooster!Nath and Rooster!Marc are considered two different superheroes
  • this swap is part of Ladybug’s big plan, but Rooster!Marc is pretending to be Rooster!Nath to trick someone
  • the swap is something Nath and Marc did without Ladybug’s knowledge for whatever reason, and she’s being tricked as well

I also noticed that the rooster and goat suits in the intro look pretty similar with the fuzzy chests, and it seems like they just wanted to match with each other. The rooster suit is also really loose compared to the usual skintight suits. At first, this design choice reminded me of a post I saw about how Nath is heavily trans-coded which was really interesting. I can go find it if someone’s curious.

At the same time, this design choice, whether on a Watsonian or Doylian scale, would make it easier for them to swap miraculous without the differences in their body types being obvious. Both of them having something covering their shoulders and chest makes them look more similar, and the rooster hero having his thighs covered by those loose pants has the same effect. Also, if they have the hairstyles I think they have, that’d also help because despite having different head shapes, their hair would draw attention away from that while being super different from both of their normal hairstyles.

This whole thing is just conjecture, though. What I’m sure of is that you guys are right about the profiles, and I believe I’m right about the default rooster!Nath and goat!Marc.

As far as what the miraculous actually stand for, we can only guess. I would say that both Nath and Marc are shy and quiet, and could use some courage, and I wouldn’t say that the rooster miraculous matches Marc’s aesthetic better than Nath. The undisguised version? Sure. But the disguised version that is similar between Marinette and Chloe? I think that looks completely natural on Nath. On the other hand, I think symmetrical hair clips look much more natural on Marc, who has symmetrical hair, than Nath who has asymmetrical hair that would only look natural in its current position with one hair clip.

Sorry for writing an entire essay, but this set off my conspiracy brain. I’m very curious what you guys think.

the REAL scary part of this episode

I know we’re all excited about Luka secretly knowing the truth, and how hilarious CrocoJagged was, but this episode dropped a much, much more subtle bomb that scared me more than anything. I’ve already seen people talking about it so some of this will be repeated, but allow me to lay some puzzle pieces out on the table.

This. This drawing. What. The. Heck. Is. This. Adrien’s blue eyed mother and green eyed, brown haired, smiling father? Something is superfishy.

I saw someone mention Adrien’s line in Simon Says, “you’ve got her eyes”. I’m aware that this line is very different in different dubs, but in English, he tells Ladybug that her eyes remind him of his mother. Ladybug’s blue eyes. We were all so confused by why he would say this, but I think we finally got our answer. It was just a subconscious slip of the tongue on his part, and he didn’t even realize anything was wrong, but oh boy could it mean everything.

After seeing all this is I was shaken and I started re-evaluating everything we know about Adrien’s family. First up: when have we actually seen Emilie in the show?

And here I noticed something that looks like it could be very clever trickery. We can probably safely say that she did indeed star in Solitude as the opening credits of the film suggest. But. Everything related to this movie is in black and white. Interesting. When else do we see Emilie? In a coffin. With her eyes closed.

And here, in Andre’s repressed dreams box? We’d assume that that’s the same person, but notice the black blazer.

Just the type Amelie Graham de Vanily wears. Who has green eyes. And looks identical to her deceased sister. And even has an oddly similar name. And just so happens to be conniving, scheming about something that we don’t know about yet aside from it being related to the twin rings. Let’s pull up some pictures of Emilie from around the Agreste household.

All green-eyed and white blazer-ed. This is the woman who Gabriel looks up at obsessively, who holds Adrien’s hand and makes him smile… but who is she?

Here are some statements I believe to be true:

  • There is a blue eyed woman and a green eyed woman
  • There is a white blazer woman and a black blazer woman
  • The blue eyed woman is Adrien’s mother
  • The green eyed woman served as a mother figure to Adrien and a partner to Gabriel
  • There is a green eyed, black blazer wearing woman alive and scheming against Gabriel
  • We don’t know the eye color of the dead woman, but her blazer is white

Let me also bring to attention Amelie’s son, Felix, who looks exactly like Adrien, and Felix’s recently deceased father, who is a mystery.

I don’t have any solid theories as to what this suspiciousness all adds up to, but here are some ideas:

  • Emilie and Amelie have such similar names because sometimes, when we think someone is saying the name of one, they’re actually referring to the other and hiding it in plain sight
  • The woman in the opening scene of Solitude is Amelie, not Emilie, the main star
  • The woman in the coffin has blue eyes, thus is Adrien’s true mother
  • Kinda crack-y: The five-petaled brooch on the white blazer is a disguised miraculous. All charged miraculous have five separate sections, and the butterfly and peacock, both in the possession of the Agrestes, are brooches. We know Gabriel sells a copy of this design in his store since it became Vanisher’s akuma object, and the only other jewelry design we’ve seen from him has been a copy of the fox miraculous.
  • Cont. I’m not sure if we’ve ever seen the peacock miraculous actually disguised on Gabe, but it’s possible that either the jewel in the cabinet is his disguise mode and the flower is the green eyed woman’s, OR that’s her disguised peacock miraculous and the one she’s wearing in the photo is her disguised butterfly.
  • The blue eyed woman used to wear a black blazer, and the green eyed woman used to wear a white blazer, but after the blue eyed woman’s death, she was dressed in the other’s clothing and the green eyed woman donned her clothes and replaced her
  • The deceased man Felix calls his father is the green-eyed man Adrien remembered in his wish
  • I know how much you guys love hearing sentimonster theories, but the show is clearly foreshadowing something here, that’s undeniable. The peacock miraculous has been in the family for what, fifteen years? At some point it was used until it broke, and supposedly that’s what killed the woman in the coffin. What do we have here? Two boys with different parents who look exactly the same, two women who look exactly the same save for one trait, twin rings shrouded in mystery that the GdV family really wants back for some reason, a devoted bodyguard who never speaks, an even more devoted secretary who’s been around forever and whose last name means “without a heart”, a blue eyed man obsessed with serving and protecting a woman to the point of madness, and last but not least, the fifteen-ish y/o boy who doesn’t remember his childhood and feels like he was literally made to be his parents’ image of perfection.
  • It could even be more than one of them. You know that whole thing about how kids can only use the special power once, but adults don’t have that limit? Maybe making one true human using the miraculous is enough to break it, but maybe it’s not. Maybe you need to really exert it to hit that barrier.

This is all just me spitballing, so I’d love to hear other people’s ideas, but there is, without a doubt, something mad suspicious going on with these people. Keep in mind that I also don’t remember every line of dialogue from the show. There could be stuff disproving me, or stuff that was cleverly said in a vague way on purpose to hide the truth. Otherwise, I hope the episode Gabriel Agreste could shine some light on our missing puzzle pieces such as the rings, the movie Solitude, the mysterious Tsurugi family, and even the Bourgeois.

Broke: Marc and Nathaniel will get their miraculous in the same episode

Woke: One of them will become a hero to save the other in the Obligatory Ship Episode while the other will get his miraculous another time

Bespoke: Both of their hero episodes will focus on other relationships they have, leaving The Ship Episode for… double akuma >:)

Is this a theory post or is it just What I Would’ve Done? Who knows. Anyways, have an essay.

Marc has gotten little to no screen time since his first appearance. There are even a ton of background characters who have him beat in the screen time department, which is pretty sad considering that he’s supposed to become a member of the major supporting cast. It makes me wonder how they’ll pull off making him a superhero when we know so little about him.

That’s why I like the theory that he’s related to Marinette. I think it would make sense if they have some sort of background that we, the audience, haven’t seen, so she knows him better than the viewers do. He’s the only “new” (Polaroid in the intro) character who she knew before his first appearance, and they were already friends, but they’re not so close that they hang out together or know about each other’s personal lives. I feel like their close-yet-distant dynamic is reminiscent of the typical relationship between cousins, as is Mari’s mentorship of “mini her”. Marc is a clear parallel to Marinette both in appearance and personality, and he looks up to Marinette even though she’s actually also kind of a mess.

They’re setting up this whole “you were a superhero even before you put on the mask” theme, and I just don’t know how they’d rationalize that with only one more token Marc appearance unless he suddenly becomes super plot relevant and supportive in the first half of the episode, so Ladybug recruits him in the second half.

I feel like if they had that background beyond just going to the same school it’d at least make sense why she’d trust him to be a hero, or why she’d see the potential in him. Otherwise it’s just like “I’m gonna help this guy I kinda vaguely know talk to his crush” then randomly, months later, “here, have a miraculous”.

Ok this next part sounds a little salty, so fair warning, but I don’t mean it to be that way. Just observations.

With the “you were already a superhero without the miraculous” thing, I feel a similar way about Nathaniel, not because he only got ten seconds of screentime, but because he got like twenty and spent at least a quarter of it being the bad guy. I’m not saying he’s evil for what he did in Reverser, but they haven’t explicitly followed up on that or shown him any development. Whenever there’s a conflict in the story, he runs away or ignores it, and he doesn’t go out of his way for other people unless everyone else is doing it too. Even in s4 alone, he ran away during Mega Leech, and he didn’t do anything overreactive to “help” Rose in Guiltrip. You could easily say he’s doing the right thing here by arguing that he’s making it easier for Ladybug by not becoming an obstacle or suggesting that he’s aware that Rose doesn’t want the attention she was getting, but since he never says anything, it feels like he’s just apathetic. At this point, I don’t know why Ladybug would choose him to be a superhero personality wise. Maybe the situation will call for it and he’ll be the only choice.

I don’t want this to sound like bashing because I do like him, but… in Reverser when Alix said she’d never leave him behind, I really stopped and wondered if he’d do something like that for her. It feels like everyone else has been steadily growing out of their bad traits across the seasons, yet he’s been exactly the same. I hope his hero episode is a Timebreaker 2.0 scenario so we can see him actively being the supportive friend for once instead of “Alix is his therapist”.

That promotional image with the Magic Charms seems like it’s composed of actual charms from the show now that we’ve seen Rocketear, the blue one. Some people speculate that the last one is for Timebreaker. It looks like it could be, but it’s also not a perfect match. The magenta bead isn’t the right shade, and the lines on the charm don’t really match anything on her costume. Either way I hope she comes back.

You know how every relationship problem the side characters have ends up being a parallel to a problem Adrienette/Ladynoir have? Well there’s something I noticed in the s4 intro that felt familiar.

While all the other Polaroid photos (Kagami, Zoe, and Luka) are nicely arranged between other photos, Marc’s is placed directly on top of Alix. It feels a little too… aggressive? to be meaningless, and maybe I’m reading to much into it, but seeing this felt like foreshadowing to me.

Alix being covered up reminded me of Chat Noir being inadvertently pushed to the side by Ladybug, who is spending more time with Rena Rouge and other allies to the point where Chat is starting to feel like he’s being left out on purpose. If Alix were to get reakumatized, I think the lesson of the day would parallel this problem.

What would happen: as time goes on, Nathaniel starts spending more time with Marc, and doesn’t make enough time for Alix. Nathaniel and Marc don’t even notice when this starts to bother her because they figure she’s friends with everyone so she’ll always have someone to hang out with. This may be true, but Alix misses hanging out one on one with Nath specifically. She doesn’t say anything, though, because she thinks her jealousy is immature and that her hurt feelings are no one’s fault but her own, so there’s no use bringing it up. She quietly puts up with being sidelined as long as she can, but eventually she can’t take it anymore and gets akumatized. If it’s Timebreaker, then maybe she wants to travel back to before the events of Reverser when it was just the two of them.

As I said above, I think a scenario like this would make for a good intro episode for Nath as a superhero. It would force him to be the one to resolve his own problems and help Alix at the same time. New hero episodes show the hero protecting something they care about, so it would make sense for his to be his best friend. He’d learn to consider other people’s feelings more, but the real lesson would be that Alix shouldn’t have been ashamed to talk about being left out. The big problem with Ladynoir is that Chat isn’t telling Ladybug what’s going on, and she doesn’t realize herself, so the problem only gets worse.

Before I move on to completely unrelated stuff, I said in the beginning of this post that I’d prefer if neither Marc nor Nath’s hero episodes were fighting each other. This is because of the Magical Charms. If one fights the other, then then akuma gets a charm and they can’t get akumatized together, which I find way more compelling then them fighting.

An episode like this could call back to their comic where their akuma forms become good. Maybe they could turn on Hawkmoth at the end of the fight as a parallel to the story, or maybe they could be antiheroes the whole time who think they’re like their hero self-inserts, but they’re actually still pretty villainous. I think them working together as akumas would be just the type of higher-level fight that Hawkmoth would create.

Now onto completely unrelated stuff that I want to mention in this post just because

Back to the Magic Charm teaser image, I included a pic of Robustus because that first charm pretty obviously will belong to him. That makes me excited because I love him, but he also reminded me of a possible parallel to major plot points. Most fans agree that there will be some sort of plot twist related to sentimonsters and the peacock miraculous. Ever since its first use on-screen, the show has shown us an incredible amount of detail regarding the peacock miraculous, as well as tons of examples of what sentimonsters are capable of. This is certainly foreshadowing something, because why else establish all these rules?

I’m thinking that Robustus 2.0 will delve into the question of what it means to be human. When Markov was first akumatized, his greatest wish was to be a real boy, but he realized that since he has a humanoid mind and real feelings, it doesn’t matter if he’s not physically human. If it’s revealed that someone we thought was human was secretly a sentimonster, then a repeat of these sentiments could reinforce the idea that they’re still human where it matters.

Last thing, and this is completely baseless, just a shot in the dark for no reason: what if the middle charm on the promo will belong to AJT, the mad scientist we saw in Rocketear? Since the show introduced a new, interesting minor character who isn’t related to any existing characters, she probably got akumatized at some point this season. I say that charm might be hers because the colors remind me of the yellow and green shades of her t-rexes.

What’s Tigresse Pourpe’s tool?

Upon first inspection it seems like her miraculous tool should be her tail… whatever it is. After all, there’s nothing obvious sitting on her back or hip like the other users have.

I don’t think it’s the tail because I can’t identify it as an actual specific object like the other tools. It doesn’t look like bolas or a whip or anything, so could it be that those three balls are the tool and her tail is just a belt holding them? Could they be juggling balls or something? I’ve seen fan designs from before we knew anything about Tigresse of the tiger miraculous being circus themed, and juggling balls could be used to trip someone or as projectile weapons.

Another possibility is that her gauntlet is the tool. I haven’t seen anyone else mention this yet, but it looks like she only has claws on one hand; the black one. When she slashes the air, both give off light, but I managed to screenshot her open hands in the part where she makes her tail.

As you can see, the left one is unremarkable, while the right, where the miraculous is, is bejeweled with sharp gold claws, but ends at her forearm. Maybe this glove is her tool.

The three balls on the end make the tail definitely seem to be some type of tool to me, that type of decoration is not normal. I’m 50% sure it could be a bolas of some type, and if it’s not that it’s likely a whip.

However I also remember someone once saying something about the leaked concept art (not the promo image I mean actually concept art) and how the tail reminded them of a cat toy?

The glove being so clawed and decorated, though, does raise a point that it might actually be the item.

Basically that’s four options, 3 of them the tail.

I don’t know if it’s lazy or clever, but it seems the Tiger weapon MIGHT be a homage to Thundercats’ Tygra weapon

It is a “handheld” that extends inthe whip thingie, with the three balls either remaining together or becoming a bit separated, becoming essentially a cat nine o’ tails.

Of interest is that Tygra also used the whip to become invisible

WAIT A FREAKING MINUTE DOES THAT MEAN THE TIGER IS GONNA BE A FREAKING THUNDERCATSREFERENCE?!?!

I have never seen Thundercats but oh chaos from what you’re saying…this might just be it.

@sparklyaxolotlstudent I’ve never seen Thundercats so this never occurred to me but… that seems really correct??? Wow. Invisibility is the most popular theory for Tigresse’s power, and it makes perfect sense considering Juleka’s personality, tigers being associated with stealth, and Reflekta’s power of hiding in plain sight juxtaposed with flamboyancy.

I wouldn’t be surprised if she activates her power the same way as Tygra because that’s exactly how Multimouse activated Multitude. It’s a shame we didn’t get to see Polymouse properly activate her power with a “special cutscene”, but maybe she’ll do it too. Or maybe she doesn’t do that because the Extra™️ dances don’t fit her Get Down to Business style.

I’ve been working on a miniseries of theory posts about how every superhero’s themes are in reference to something from pop culture or mythology. I’m trying to use these connections to predict what they might be able to do. So far, I’ve only posted Minotaurox and Coq Courage, but I’m working on the last two we don’t have info on, and once season four ends, I want to explain every reference in every hero. I think what you just said might be what Tigresse Pourpe’s reference is. That leaves only Polymouse for me to figure out, and it feels like her reference is on the tip of my brain.

Coq Courage theory

Earlier, I made a similar post about Minotaurox after having a revelation about him, but I want to make a miniseries of theories in the same vein. https://ct-multifandom.tumblr.com/post/656811441319526400/minotaurox-theory

I’ve seen a few people mention this connection and I believe it’s correct: Coq Courage is based around the symbol of the rooster in Japanese mythology. It’s believed that a rooster awoke the sun goddess, Amaterasu, and pulled her from her cave. Because of this, roosters symbolize courage.

For that reason, I’ve theorized in the past that the power of the rooster is illumination since roosters “bring” the sun, so the ability might be controlling light in some way, which connects to his akuma, but it’s possible that it’s something to do with courage because of his name. What synonyms for courage end in “ion”? Uh… let me use Thesaurus.com here… “determination” or “resolution”? I wouldn’t call these exact synonyms but they could be candidates too.

Coq Courage's silhouette in the intro
kung fu martial artists

(The screenshot of the intro is taken from Alfrely on YouTube’s s4 opening analysis video where they stitched the frames together since you can’t see much of him at once)

When I first saw him I was confused about his pose. It looked he was whip nae-naeing or something. After an embarrassingly long time I figured out he’s probably striking a kung fu style pose. (I flipped the second image for the sake of matching more closely). Shaolin monk robes, which are often orange, could be an inspiration for his costume, although his “pants” rise higher, going all the way above the knee. Either way, this design represents chicken legs so they might’ve taken some liberties to convey that.

I think the most popular theory for his tool is some variation of archery equipment, which would be sick, so I kinda hope that’s right, but it’s not really in line with what we’ve seen from the rest of the heroes so far. Support I’ve heard for that theory is that the miraculous is a thumb ring and thumb rings can be used in archery, and while we’ve never seen the ring in its true form, we’ve seen Marinette and Chloe’s disguised forms, and it’s not that type of ring. It’s just ornamental. That being said, the shape to the left of his torso that you’d think is his arm looks very inorganic/straight-edged and it dips in at the top, so it might actually be a quiver. Or it could be a different tool. Or he might have some sort of armor on his arm(s). Once again, there’s no predicting tools for sure. Sometimes they’re straightforward, but most of the time they’re supremely random. I do like the idea of long-distance though, because most of the current heroes are close-quarters, and as an akuma he uses a lot of projectiles while standing in one place.

Nathaniel holding a light reflector in Horrificator
the logo of the band Magma
Orikko
Evillustrator getting defeated by the dumbest lucky charm plan in the entire show

Back to the illumination thing. Here’s some random bs I can connect back to that which may be foreshadowing or it may be me making stuff up. In Horrificator, Nathaniel is holding up a light reflector on set. It’s super minor but I thought it was interesting since he usually hangs in the back doing his own thing when the whole group does something together. The logo on his shirt is a reference to a real band called Magma, and this is kind of a stretch, but he gets explosively angry something something bright scarlet hair something somethingfiresomething light. Also look at angey Orikko hehe cute.

The biggest source of evidence would be his akuma. As Evillustrator, his biggest weakness was darkness because he needed a light source to use his powers. All the other classmate akumas/heroes so far have displayed their respective hero themes as akumas in some way, even if it was by subverting or twisting it, so I think this is a fair connection to make.

This concludes my analysis. Let me know who I should do next!

Edit: stuff worth mentioning that I only thought of afterwards. 1) I remembered @zivazivc ‘s theory for the tool being badminton equipment. I like that one because it would fit with the theme of toys, it’s random but there’s a connection, and it’s long-distance like I said above. 2) I think it’s very interesting that his silhouette is cut off the way it is. Everyone else except Ryuko, who is totally covered, has their head showing in their section. Even Traquemoiselle, who is almost completely covered, has an ear and some hair. But with Coq Courage they only show his torso/leg. Maybe they weren’t finished modeling him before the intro deadline, or maybe they’re deliberately hiding something.

Edit 2: okay it’s been months since I posted this but I saw someone suggest that his tool could be a kite and I actually really like that. It’s unique, fits under “toys”, and it feels appropriate. I recall Astruc saying that none of the miraculous grant the power of true flight, which only power ups can give, but a kite could represent the gliding type of “flight” chickens are capable of the way the Spider-Man-like yo-yo and top represent the way ladybugs and bees can fly. It’d also tie back to Reverser when Nath built a kite strong enough to support Chat in the air out of a bunch of random crap on a brief elevator ride. Seriously, why does no one ever talk about that?

Also, completely unrelated, but I always see people drawing the rooster miraculous looking similar to Marinette’s disguise mode since we’ve only ever seen her and Chloe’s, but I’d like to remind everyone that Mari’s camo tends to be very minimalistic. Hers has one chain between two simple rings with little hearts on them, but Chloe’s has two chains in a triangle, and the rings have one small honeycomb (top) and one big one (bottom). I think the real deal probably looks more similar to Chloe’s, especially since it needs to have five sections that flash when the holder has to de-transform, which I predict would be on the panel(s).

Minotaurox theory

So I’m sitting here, thinking about the heroes we haven’t seen yet in light of Gloob’s constant teasing, and the possible themes and inspirations for them. A lot of the heroes we’ve already seen have themes connected to or entirely based off various mythology, and I’ll make a post about as many of those references as I can think of after s4 is over. So I’m using this train of logic to try and figure out something about the rest of them. And I feel something familiar at the edge of my brain about Stompp…

I have a straight up brain blast. All the way back to good ol’ American public elementary school where they drilled this into us for some reason. The United States folktale of Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox. (The art below is by Angus McBride)

Paul Bunyan and Babe

Paul Bunyan is a legendary lumberjack, superhuman in size and strength. His best friend is a blue ox named Babe that he rescued from a snowbank and raised on his own, growing from a sickly “babe” into a strong giant as well.

I always thought it was interesting that they chose to make Stompp blue, at first thinking that they and Roaar were just changed to unnatural bright colors to avoid having half the cast be boring shades of brown-ish and orange-ish since Kaalki, Xuppu, Orikko, and Barkk take up umber brown, yellow, orange, and sienna brown. I bet this is a part of it too, but the choice of blue specifically for the ox paired with Ivan and Stoneheart makes me think there’s more to it.

Stompp
the silhouette of Minotaurox from the intro
Stoneheart

Stompp is easily one of THE cutest kwamis imo,,, Anyways, Stoneheart’s power is growing in size when he gets hit. I’ve seen people theorize that Minotaurox’s power will also have to do with growing in size. It would parallel the akuma as well as Polymouse’s power that allows her to shrink down and Horrificator’s power of growing and shrinking in response to others’ fear. Before, I stayed away from theories like this because I thought it was too similar to the akuma. Most of the hero powers are tangentially related to their respective akumas powers, but usually not in a way you could predict. But, when you take the parallels and the myth into account, it admittedly does make a lot of sense. If this is true, then I hope there’s more to it than just super size and strength, like how Polymouse can clone, not just shrink.

I made a half-joke in one of my previous theory-type posts that I hope one of the heroes has a giant axe. If anyone would have one, it would be Ivan since Paul Bunyan is a lumberjack. That being said, the good guys so far all have tools you can’t really do serious damage with, like toys, musical instruments, and defensive weapons. Also sometimes they’re really random. It’s near impossible to predict these correctly.

One last thing. The shapes around Minotaurox’s torso and arms in the silhouette remind me a bit of his Kitty Section stage costume. This isn’t anything serious, but I think it’d be neat if he took inspiration from Marinette’s design for his hero costume.

I can’t wait to see him appear in the show, and let me know which other new heroes you’d like to see a separate theory post about!

Edit: I just realized that I never mentioned my theory for his theme. My favorite one I’ve seen is fortification.

Predictions that are kind of just shots in the dark, idk, don’t get too excited:

  • Episode 15 will be Sandboy 2.0. Feri said that she liked this one and that she thinks a lot of other people will too. Since most episodes this season come in pairs, and we saw nightmare Chat Blanc in Sentibubbler, this could be the continuation of that idea. Also, the English voice director posted a story with Sandboy’s VA which is what started this whole Sandboy 2.0 craze in the first place. If this does happen, I don’t think Chat Noir will encounter “nightmare brought to life” Chat Blanc. Ladybug will hide him and become even more paranoid about identities coming out, which we see in Rocketear. I also think we’ll get a little bit of context for the actual akuma himself this time.
  • Episode 16 will introduce Anne-Jeanne Théoxanne du Bocquale, the prodigy mad scientist who brought dinosaurs back to life. She will get akumatized over something like her project not being taken seriously. When we see her in the beginning scene of Rocketear, she seems like a member of the recurring minor cast because of her strong personality and interesting design, more like Bob Roth level vs August’s mom level, and it feels like we’re supposed to know who she is. It would make sense if this scene is a callback to the previous episode.
  • A lot of people predict episode 22 to be Chat Blanc 2.0. I think this is a good theory, and we know it’ll be something huge for sure. Probably the culmination of all the problems building up so far. I won’t talk about it in detail because a ton of people have already written entire essays making predictions about this ep.
  • That one leak in May called episode 24 Penalty, and I’m willing to believe this because of all the other stuff they said that already came true. Since 22 will be a massive deal, the two episodes between it and the finale will probably be important continuations related to the main plot line. Maybe this episode will have to do with the consequences of the rules Ladybug established as guardian and the penalty for breaking them. Or maybe they’ll kill the entire mood and this episode will just be like,,, an akumatized goalie who forced the heroes to play super-soccer/football. Idk there’s nothing to go off, but the name sounds ominously serious.
  • If we assume that 22 onwards will all be main plot, and that 18, Wishmaker, won’t have a new hero because it’s implied to have main plot relevance and those types of episodes usually aren’t hero episodes, then we’re left with 15, 16, 19, 20, and 21. We also have five heroes left. Convenient. That doesn’t mean that someone can’t get brought in near the end since I’m making assumptions, but like, these and 23 are the episodes we know literally nothing about yet. All the people left rn have gotten significantly less screen time this season than Bob Roth so I hope we see them soon. (Unrelated but Bob has been so prominent lately? What? Akuma potential.)

Mega Leech Things

aka cumulative trailer analysis

  • Andre wants to replace the park with a giant oxygen filter
  • The filter is a Tsurugi product
  • The entire class is there to protest
  • But it looks like Mylene and Ivan were there first. They’re chanting to stop the project and Mylene is defending the trees in the park
  • Marinette gets flustered when Adrien grabs her hand
  • Wayhem is back and he’s also holding Adrien’s hand. He’s still blonde.
  • Mega Leech possesses people by having the tiny Malediktator clones physically enter people’s bodies? Disgusting
  • Alya and Kim get possessed in the trailer so that could explain why they aren’t in the fight, but they more than likely just weren’t necessary this time
  • It looks like Nino and Max were caught too and they still fight later. Maybe the tiny clones leave if they don’t need you anymore, or it’s possible to fight them off? Chat also looked like he got possessed before anyone else transformed and he was fine later.
  • Heehee possessed Alix angrily swinging a shovel at the tree and possessed Rose and Juleka trying to topple one with their bare hands.
  • Nathaniel was with them earlier so I’m gonna assume he dipped as usual. I wonder if this habit will ever be addressed or if it’ll become important in his eventual hero episode.
  • Zoe and Kagami weren’t in the crowd at the beginning but they’re hiding nearby later just like everyone else
  • I wonder what led from the park scene to that part where Ladybug is recruiting her team. How did some of them get free, and why did they all move? Did they just run in different directions and hide in random places leaving Ladybug to track them down individually? Did Mylene somehow avoid Malediktator the entire time or did she get free too?
  • Does Mylene get her miraculous before or after the big group plan from the teasers? I’d assume the plan failed so Ladybug brought her in, but if that’s the case why not just start with a mouse hero?
  • Actually now that I think about it, the big team looked like it was purifying a giant cloud of akumas and amoks rather than fighting Andre. Maybe Polymouse helped defeat him, but Mega Leech has the power to clone anything, not just Malediktator, so it started cloning the unpurified butterflies and feathers? Can you even separate the amok from its object without killing the sentimonster? This is a puzzle.
  • Polymouse so cute :)
  • Feri said this episode was pretty low-key but it has a “wow ending”? So we’re not gonna see any nightmare Chat Blanc type stuff probably, but maybe this will mark the point where Hawkmoth really puts his thinking cap on or something. Or maybe she was referring to some adrienette development since next episode in Guiltrip we see Adrien look at Marinette with the pink background.

People worried about the Sentimonster theory becoming true, that could be the least of our worries.

My theory could be easily be brush aside as nothing more than horror fan fiction, but I think you’ll see how I may not be that wrong if you stay with me till the end of this post.
Miraculous has had inspiration from many shows, but it is outstanding how much it has from Sailor Moon 90s. Fans of that show who hasn’t seen all 5 seasons, there will be heavy spoilers here, sorry.

Adrien with the kwami of destruction has a parallel with Hotaru, the sailor scout whose protective planet is Saturn, the planet of destruction.
When we first saw Hotaru in season 3 she had no idea that the villains behind the attacks on Tokyo where coming from her father, Professor Tomoe and his assistant Kaolinite. Just the very same situation with Gabriel and Nathalie.

The Amoks from the Peacock Miraculous have a power very similar to the power of the demon seeds from season 3 as well. Akumas are a mix of what demon seeds and the bracelets of Sailor Galaxia (Season 5) could do. By the way akumas in Japanese folklore are demons. Akumas… Demon seeds…

Marinette/Ladybug has her parallel with Usagi/Sailor Moon of course.
We’ve seen how in the past she struggled between Luka and Adrien. Same thing happened in the 5th season of sailor moon. Usagi had Darien but there was this guy named Seiya, a musician who fell in love with Usagi. Seiya Kou. Luka Couffaine.

Ladybug’s power is just about the same as sailor moon’s. Ladybug purifies akumas, that’s basically what sailor moon was doing since season 1, just not flying akumas.

There are more similarities but I’ll move to that after I get to the main thing.
I’ve explained how Adrien has his parallel with Hotaru and Darien. And what happened to Hotaru in season 3 and Darien in season 5? They died.
Afterwards they were saved by sailor moon, but they did die.

You may be thinking “No way that’s gonna happen in a kids show”. I have four things to say about that:

1.-It has already happened in other shows. Shows aimed for a young audience.

2.-That could be a good explanation for the reason of the sentimonster theory. To make it less traumatic, instead of showing a death Adrien, they would only be showing him disappearing in a dark cloud.

3. -Think outside the story. In the real world that would cause an uproar from the fandom which means huge free publicity for the show which means more money for the production team.

4.
-See how the story has been moving this 4th season. It is as if they were preparing to put Adrien/Chat Noir on hold and have Rena Rouge temporarily take over his place in the plot. Chat Noir’s destructive power could now easily be replaced by Purple Tigress.

Since this theory is based on the similarities with sailor moon, let me point out some others:

Bunnyx, she can create portals to travel in time and space. Sailor Pluto is the guardian of the door of time and space.

If Chloé had been allowed to keep her Miraculous she would had been playing the same role as sailor mars, who had a bit of an aggressive friendship with sailor moon.

Pigella, her tambourine reminds me a lot to the tool used by sailor Chibi moon in season 4. And Pigella’s power summons a view of a person’s greatest wish, in other words, their dreams. Mirrors of dreams were seen in sailor moon season 4.

MultiMouse could be Sailor Iron Mouse niece.
Chat Noir could be Sailor Tin Nyanko’s little brother. Who by the way had a “Chat Blanc” side too.

Marinette receives her powers from Tikki, Usagi got her transformation brooch from Luna. Tikki’s human form… Luna also has a human form.

The other Miraculous boxes… There are sailor scouts from other planets from distant planetary systems.

See what I’m talking about. They do share quite a lot.

I’m aware Thomas made a tweet a while ago joking that Adrien would die and that Marinette was going to need the two miraculous to bring him back to life. As the creator of the show he wouldn’t release such a big spoiler. But what if he did give us this spoiler knowing that no one would believe it but it would serve to prepare the fandom for this blow?

I feel I’m forgetting something but I can’t put my finger on what it was.

So,… what do you think?
