Chapter 7|Masterlist

The city seemed to vibrate around us alive and flourishing. Uncertain if I’d ever felt the pulse of the air like I do now. The previous evening, I’d been so nervous our journey to the park hadn’t felt this electric. So enamored with Zen that everything had seemed dull and colorless in comparison. Smaller, I tended to flit through life. Moving quietly, observing the world around me. Not Zen, he was grandiose. If he wanted to, he could stop traffic with only a look. At his side it felt like everyone noticed us.

“Have I bewitched you princess. You can’t take your eyes off me.” Pausing, Zen tosses his hair over his shoulder. Posing a delicious pout painting on his delectable lips. “Poor girl, what a dastardly man I am.” Feeling heat rush to my face, Zen is glowing from my attention and I’m a stuttering mess from his.

“No one can Zen, I think a woman behind us nearly tripped looking at your face. You’re sohandsome.” Questioning my attempts to flirt. Eager for Zen’s attention, but still fluttering with nerves when he captures me in his gaze. Caught off guard by my retort Zen blinks for a moment before glancing behind us. Dropping the theatrics, he laughs. It’s warm and real and different from what I’ve seen.

“I didn’t notice. Me, the man who starves for attention.” Grinning awkwardly, Zen is genuine in a new way. It makes him even more attractive. “You’re so pretty jagiya, I just want your eyes on me constantly.” Realization on his face, color blooming on Zen’s cheeks, he’s effervescent. The sight makes my heart constrict. This was Hyun Ryu. None of the pomp Zen tended to decorate himself with, like a shield. In the game you catch glimpses of this man at the end of the route but here bright in the late midday sun after knowing one another for little more than a day. Seeing this side of him was a privilege.

“Everything else fades to grey in competition with you, darling.” Honest, but still a little shy. Was Zen demonstrating he was comfortable with me? So thunderstruck by that notion, I’m not even completely certain what I’m saying. Pausing at my confession. Considering my expression. A smile of self satisfaction spreads across Zen’s handsome face.

“That’s what I want.” There’s hesitancy in his tone. “I want you addicted to me, desperate for me.” Realization rocking Zen, his breath coming in short succession in his excitement. Looming above me, hand poised at his side. Fighting the desire to reach out to me.The way we could both lose our surroundings within each other was alarming.

“The cafe is just there.” Pointing while maintaining my gaze on his. This time Zen laughs before letting out a long breath.

“I’ve never met anyone like you, Lea. I think part of you desires to possess me. At the same time you’re clearly concerned about my career.” Curious but troubled. Fiercely praying for our connection to be as deep as I’ve shown it to be. Always some small part of Zen is scared he’ll just be admired for his appearance.

“I’d like to take care of you.” Years of pining spilled from my lips without deliberation. The implication of my words flustered me. Hands covering my mouth as I stare up at Zen in shock. A boisterous man who was full of life. The Zen at this moment in response to my proclamation is muted. Hands dropping to his sides. Looking almost bewildered.

“You want to-“ Mind whirling at my words. His expressive face showed every errant emotion coursing through him. Determined, sucking in a breath as he clenches a fist. “That’s my job jagi, to take care of you. After all you’re my-“ Drawing to a halt. His eyes wide as his posturing ceases. Searching my expression and I realize Zen is feverishly seeking some form of permission from me.

“I’myourprincess, Zen.” Our second day together. Was this too fast? It never seemed to me that Zen did anything in half measure. It wouldn’t be difficult to say something else and slow us down. That could make Zen doubt himself. Which I refused to allow to happen. Hope, tentative and tender, possesses him. The force of his gaze holds me. Fidgeting, my body instinctively responds to Zen’s proximity. His desire to kiss me hanging freely between us. “V’s going to be waiting.” Hating myself for stopping him. Keenly aware of the dangerous game we were playing with his entire life just being this close. The responsibility I feel to protect Zen and his career and image surprises me. I’d always assumed it would be a priority but I’m shocked to find at this moment it’s superseding my own needs.

“You’re right.” Barking a hard laugh, ardor burning rich in Zen’s eyes. “You’re also just intoxicating.” Compelling himself to smile, it’s strained. Angling his torso as if he’s giving me permission to proceed. Feeling one of Zen’s large hands press into my lower back to direct me. His heat was bleeding through the fabric and sending a tingle directly up my spine. It was never more clear to me then at this moment, this was no longer a game. The very real, sensitive man walking next to me required my understanding, devotion and support. I was under no obligation to give any of those things but I wanted to, for him.

“How did the conversation go with Jaehee?” Attempting to distract myself as my thoughts drifted too deep. It didn’t matter which version of Zen was in front of me, I always ended up overwhelmed by him. Studying my face before he speaks. The gentle turn of his lips informs me he is aware why I’m changing the subject so randomly.

“She was concerned. I pointed out Yoosung was acting out because of V.” Clearing his throat, sheepish Zen shrugs. “I prefer to be transparent but I don’t feel like our private kiss is anyone else’s business.” Biting his lower lip, penetrating gaze locked on my mouth the memory of our earlier kiss burning in both of us. Rattled, fazed by how uncontrollable Zen can make my desires.

“I don’t want to make trouble for you, Zen.” Pausing in front of the door to our destination. Fussing with the front of Zen’s shirt as I can feel the endearing sentiment he’s watching me with. “I appreciate you looking out for me.” Chiding myself for being a burden to him, but relishing his security. Astute, Zen’s eyes narrow in contemplation before filling with warmth.

“Sometimes jagiya, you’re so delicate in such a charming way that you captivate me. It’s so unfair I can’t keep you tucked away. Only for me.” Enchanted, even as he devours me with his naked longing. The life he’s lived has been filled with so much hardship and loneliness and still he is so open and romantic. Suffering, I crave him in an intensity that intimidates me. An image flashes through my mind. I’ve seen it many times in my dreams. The two of us lay in bed, laughing, touching, his body slowly covering mine. Lost in the abyss of our mutual need. Jolted when Zen opens the door, gesturing for me to enter first. A gentleman, caring for his lady.

“And yes, princess whatever you were just musing in that pretty little mind of yours. That paints such a darling smile on your face. I’ll do just that and so much more.” Temptation is clear as we lock eyes, I’m surprised and Zen winks.

“You’re a cad.” Playfully I scold him as Zen follows me. Delighted with our new game. Arm wrapping around my waist to lead me towards the back of the shop.

“Do you like that princess? I can be whatever you desire. I can be naughty for you?” Fingers teasing along my hip, bolder in his touch now that we are off the street. Trying to steady my thundering heart. What would we be like alone if we had this much trouble focusing with so many other people around.

“Darling Zen?” Drawing to a halt the teasing man pauses. Staring at me with curiosity hearing how genuine I sound. Laying a hand against his chest, gaze dropping for a moment at the obvious definition there. Bashfully allowing my fingertips to wander, Zen radiating pleasure as I’m distracted. “Just be you. You’re my favorite.” The words I’ve always wanted to tell him. Attempting to turn away, overcome by the depth this man could make me feel. Arm coiling more tightly around my waist, Zen holds me steadfast.

“Where are you going darling girl? You can’t make such a bold statement to me and then hide. Well unless you’d like to disappear into my arms? That’s allowed.” Glancing back to him. The soft, alluring tone of his voice is infatuating. What I’d said had obviously pleased him. Positively glowing. Gathering my willpower to not succumb.

“If I lose myself there Zen, I’ll never want to leave.” Why does he have to be so handsome and charming? Causing devastation to every corner of my life. The smirk that spreads across his face causes my pulse to race.

“I’ll happily keep you-“ Seductive, the low octave of his voice sending a shiver across my skin. Only before he can finish his promise a voice breaks through the air calling out Zen’s name.

“Hyun? Is that you?” Losing ourselves in our own little world we’d almost forgotten we were in a cafe to meet the leader of the RFA. Turning towards the voice, I find V tucked into a table towards the back. Large dark sunglasses hid a majority of his attractive face. Coffee steaming on the table in front of him. Cerulean bangs falling haphazardly. Appearance more disheveled than I’d expected. Clothing hung from his frame like he wasn’t eating enough.

“Sorry we’re not late are we?“ V was not exactly what I’d pictured. Zen seemed unphased, V appeared so unkept. Beaming at his friend, grip around my body impulsively tightening. Drawing me towards the table. following without reservation. Curious at the way V appears to be assessing us together and wondering if he is afflicted by the same sight limitations as in the game as the glasses would seem to indicate.

“I didn’t expect you to be Lea’s escort, Hyun. I assumed it would be Jaehee. Usually you’re too busy to be involved in the minutiae of the organization.” Skin prickling as we’re analyzed. Fighting nerves, self conscious and also uncomfortable with V’s character at this point in the game play. Wondering how it will reflect on his actual person.

“Our new party planner is dear to me, my friend.” Not one to disguise his feelings, Zen tugs me tightly against him. Possessive in his action. Quietly informing the man watching us that I belong to him. Heady to realize I don’t mind that perception of us. Not as daring as Zen, my hand creeped up to grip his shirt again. Relaxing into my touch. Startled to realize there’d been tension in Zen’s body.

“This is a surprise.” The consideration in V’s tone riles my suspicions. It was difficult to remain neutral when I’m easily able to remember the questionable choices he made during Zen’s route.

“Surprises make me nervous, this is a blessing.” Coherent thoughts vacate my head when Zen’s replies. Tenderness paints his face. Emotional and embarrassed at my inability to control it in front of V. “Sit down princess.” Stunned when once again Zen is able to read me easily. “I’m going to grab us drinks, V. If you’ll please keep our new party planner entertained until I return.” Gently Zen directs me into one of the seats opposite the photographer. Turning, I want to offer to pay for our drinks today because Zen bought our previous dinner. Before I can speak his hand falls onto my head teasing my curls. Smiling softly as I peer up at him. “So sweet” Murmuring, Zen sighs, swallowing hard before grinning at his friend across from us. “I’ll be right back jagi.”

Watching Zen, walking away it occurs to me I’d lost my chance to offer to treat. Easily distracted by him. The way he holds himself, his pose and control. It had always been a joke while playing how his presence overwhelms me. In real life I was almost helpless to his charms.

If I’d just met Zen with no prior knowledge of his life I’d still assume he did something in the public eye. Just the way he carries and controls the room around him. The flutter in my chest is enough to confirm I’m in fact smitten. When Zen turns in line to find me staring, his pleasure at that fact is evident. Winking, he holds up his hand in a finger heart. Embarrassed as my own races yet again.

“I’ve never seen him like this?” The static, calm tone of V broke my thoughts. Rattled to realize I’d become so focused on Zen I’d forgotten my purpose for being at the cafe for a moment.

“What do you mean?” Shifting in my seat to engage with him, knowing if I keep my gaze on Zen I’ll allow myself to become distracted again.

“So open. It took us a long time to even start to earn Hyun’s trust. Watching him with you, it’s magnetic.” Both flattered and put off. Staring into the dark soulless sunglasses on V’s face blocked me from having the ability to really understand his intentions.

“We’re still just getting to know one another.” Something about this topic, about the way V is stoically watching me. I feel a tingle of distrust. I know the background in the game but I was trying to maintain an open mind in case reality wasn’t as off the wall as Mystic Messenger could be.

“I’m impressed his faith in you already appears fairly unshakable.” The tone of V’s voice sounded sincere. It was disappointing I continued to have red flags no matter what he said. Fiddling with my cell phone, I wished we could just talk about the party. After my earlier conversation with Yoosung I was done discussing my relationship with Zen.

“I hope he sees how hard I’m working for all of you. I know how important the party is to everyone. I also want to get a lot of good guests to help Zen. I understand the party was an important outlet for him to find sponsors and make connections for his work.” Prim as I sit there with my hands clasped on the table in front of me. Utilizing honesty as my shield against the mounting skepticism festering in my mind.

“You remember me mentioning sponsors the first day in the chat room?” Not realizing Zen had returned or been listening to my impassioned explanation. Standing with our drinks his sauve exterior having exited affected by my fervor.

“I like you.” Embarrassed and babbling. When proving a point to V, I’d felt clear. Realizing Zen had heard my dedication to helping him, I felt shy. Flushed and staring at my hands still clasped in front of me, when my drink is sat there my eyes are drawn to return to Zen. Having slid down into his chair, he’s studying me with a devotion that makes my mind feel fuzzy.

“You two are rather serious?” Glancing up in response to the V’s deliberation.

“I for one am done with games. I want something real. Lea is one of the most genuine people I’ve ever met.” There was no flirty platitude to his words and when confronted by the rawness of Zen’s feelings I found myself even more struck. Maybe that was one of my favorite things about him, both in the game and in real life. When my emotions got very strong I tended to be easily overwhelmed while Zen thrived in it. It really made me admire him.

“I want to make this party the best I can, because I want to build something with you Zen.” It was strange. In the game because everything had to be very generalized in order to appeal to the largest base of players it was hard to get a clear picture of what your world with Zen actually was or what it would look like. Yet here with us, I felt like we were carefully cultivating something. Eyes rising to return to Zen’s, I’d been working very hard to make our world possible. “With that I would like to share the guest news I refrained from earlier.

The expression on my face had to be smug. The last two days when not with Zen I’d been scheming how to impress him. Tilting his head, while raising his brow. The look of consideration Zen meets my statement with is charming. “What you shared with Yoosung and I early already had me marveling at you princess. I have the feeling you’re going to leave me even more taken when you tell me this?” Teasing, but clearly curious. It wasn’t just me seeing our building blocks falling into place. Plainly Zen also saw the potential.

“Before you share that, maybe I should tell you my idea for the parties date?” Sheepish when I realize yet again I’d become so focused on the stunning man next to me I’d neglected to properly engage with the man that was supposed to be our leader. Turning back to V, I was hoping this is one area where life would not follow game play because I wanted more than a week.

“If we follow Rika’s usual timeline I should hopefully be able to assist Lea once my show ends.” It was a surprise to me how serious Zen was about helping me. In the game he tried his best to suggest guests but never really attempted to do more. Here, us working together seemed like a priority to him.

“I was thinking we’d have the party in a month.” So matter of fact with his news, I’m relieved it’s more than seven days and surprised when Zen explodes next to me.

“A month?! V that’s too short. Rika used to need three times that to plan hers. Lea is new to this. I feel like you’re being very unfair to throw all that on her. That doesn’t even seem like enough time to find a reasonable amount of guests.” Volatile, Zen reaches between us to grip my hand, protecting me. Clearing his throat, V appears to be about to dissuade his passionate appeal.

“I already have over one hundred possible guests.” Blurting out my news. Even though I appreciate Zen rushing to my defense, the time frame doesn’t scare me. Having been working tirelessly every spare moment. Getting to share the fruits of my labor was satisfying. Both men at the table stop. Adjusting his sunglasses V is stunned to silence, his gaze thoughtfully falling to the table. Gripping my hand more tightly Zen stares at me, the awe there bringing my blush back as he stutters for a moment.

“How?” The admiration in Zen’s face sends a nervous flutter through my midsection.

“All the charities I told you I’ve been in contact with. They all have VIP donor lists and they said they would be happy to share them with me. I’m certain not everyone will want to come and we probably won’t want all the suggestions but it’s a good start for the type of guests that will be most likely to make the party successful.”Antsy and bashful about how much I want Zen to praise me.

“You’re- I-“ Stumbling over his words. Struck Zen just gawks at me for a moment before jaw setting he swings back to V. “We’re going to need more than a month. This is going to be the largest party we’ve ever had. My princess is incredible. She deserves respect. You can’t just use her.” Bristling, passion bright and fierce in Zen’s expression. This wasn’t some emotional outburst like I often watched Zen have in the game. This was cool, collected and strong. For a man who often struggled to advocate for his own needs I wasn’t certain where this magnificent side of Zen had come from and clearly neither was V.

“Hyun, you don’t understand there are extenuating circumstances.” Floundering, V was not typically forthright or commanding. No one in the game ever really questioned him except Yoosung until much later in the story.

“Then you should explain them, my friend, instead of just laying out expectations for my princess without any reason why.” Heart pounding in my chest entranced by the resolution Zen demonstrates.

“I don’t mind, Zen.” Taken by his ease in defending me but feeling like I’m causing complications. Stirring my spoon needlessly around in my tea moved but plagued by a knotty tangle of thoughts. It was important to me to be a solution and not cause additional issues.

Shaken from his posturing, Zen gazes at me with such endearment I find my mind tumbling again. It’s a little embarrassing how generally I’m so astute but in front of Zen I’m struggling to not become a twittering mess. It’s maddening. “Precious girl,” Utilizing his most tender tone of voice even as he scolds me. “I’m starting to see you would do whatever we need and not think of the burden it brings you. That’s alright only because I’ll be watching out for you. So let me do my job so you can do yours.”

“More time isn’t going to be possible Hyun, even if you both want it. People have already been contacting me and asking about the status of this event.” The mood at the table perceptibly drops. United, Zen and I both take in V’s proclamation with trepidation. Restless, he clears his throat and I get the impression V had not desired to share that news.

“I don’t understand, how would anyone know?” Confused, the chair Zen is seated in scrapes loudly along the floor as he fusses, nearly knocking over his drink. “Lea’s only been here three days.” Agitated, Zen forces out a grunt of air. Attempting to process this new information.

“I can’t say for certain, but we don’t want to disappoint potential guests.” For such a bizarre twist V continues to appear almost stoically calm. Something about his indifference sets me on edge. Knowing what happens in the game and seeing the events unfolding here, it seems naive to simply go along with V’s wishes.

“Am I in danger?” The question sounds sharp, maybe a little too much like an accusation and I school myself.

“You’re safe with the RFA, jagiya. You can trust, V. Right?” The scowl Zen locks on the other man does little to dissuade my concern. Even under the sunglasses I can tell V is averting his gaze and it adds to my anxiety.

“We have surveillance on the apartment and Luciel is watching it around the clock. No one could sneak in without us knowing.” Taking a sip of his drink V seems clouded. Analyzing my tea, lips pursing in thought I try to decide if this subject is worth pressing. Some small part of me continued to think it wasn’t actually possible that the absurd plot of the game was coming true, but that was precisely what was unfolding in front of me.

“I wouldn’t let anything happen to you, princess. I hope you know that.” Earnest in the way only Zen can be. If nothing else I knew I could trust his words. Leaning in closer, lips curling up into a flirty smirk, Zen drops the octave of his voice. “Of course if you still don’t feel safe, darling girl. You’re welcome to come and stay with me. There is no place safer than my arms.” Winking as I giggle, the world once again narrowing to only encapsulate us.

“Hyun,” Until we’re again rudely interrupted. Firm, V sighs as he stumbles to change the subject. “One of the people that contacted me was Rui.”

“That famous guy that you know? Didn’t you tell me he is my fan?” Sipping my tea as Zen talks, watching his fingers drumming on the table before his hand lifts to land on mine. Delighted by how smooth he is.

“Yes, that’s who I’m talking about. He’s interested in attending the party, but he also would like to get in contact with you. I know he’s been trying for a while to get you to do a photo shoot for him.” Leaning back in his chair, Zen is considering V’s information. It strikes me how absurd it is that we’d just been discussing my safety and were now once again talking about guests. Biting my lip against a laugh because this was more like the game then any moment I’ve lived here thus far.

“What do you think, jagiya? Should we invite Rui?” Maybe I wasn’t as worried as I should be because he made me feel secure. Even though this entire situation was probably the craziest thing that has ever happened to me. It also felt right.

“I think if he’s V’s friend we should. That’s only polite.” Zen’s hand is still on top of my own. I wiggle out my pinky to run it along the side of his palm.

“So cute and considerate.” Shaking his head, there is a yearning in Zen that’s palpable. Color returns to my cheeks. I try to finish my drink to distract myself. “There you have it V.” This ease of confidence from him again, it was giving me goosebumps. This Zen was otherworldly. It made it hard for me to concentrate. “My princess has spoken. You may also give Rui my number.” Glancing back to me I raise a brow of question at him. “I may be willing to barter a trade of services.”

“He will be thrilled to hear that Hyun.” A ding from his cell phone distracts V’s attention. Both his brows raise as he reads before placing it down on the table hiding the screen. “I’m sorry to run but I have some other business to attend to. Thank you Lea for being agreeable about the date. I’ll stop by the messenger this afternoon and share the news with everyone. Thank you Hyun for being a good escort and for agreeing to speak to Rui.”

“I still question the short time frame, but will support Lea to my fullest ability.” Gripping my hand more tightly Zen gestures for me to rise. Following his lead, bowing to V as he also pulls himself up to his feet.

“Thank you V, for taking the time to meet me. I’ll continue to work hard to make this party the success you all deserve.” Another set of bows are exchanged and V leaves echoing another farewell. Watching him go, observing the care that he moves through his environment with. It’s clear to me he is losing his eyesight and it is a worse problem than maybe anyone realizes.

“May I walk my princess back to her work?” The last twenty or so minutes, this odd conversation with the head of the RFA. All it took was one look into the affectionate gaze of this beautiful man and it all melted away.

“I’d be very disappointed if you didn’t.” Lowering my face just so while trembling my bottom lip. Wide eyed, the smile falls from Zen’s face.

“Oh no, oh princess. You can’t do that. I’m helpless against your power.” Grabbing his chest, Zen drops to a knee, face colored by a pained conternance. Flustered by Zen’s theatrics not expecting such a showy response my flirty disposition switches immediately to bewilderment.

“Zenny, no, not here. You’re not even in a face mask.” Scolding him, tugging on his sleeve. pleaded with the ostentatious man to use care. Surging to his feet I find my back pressed into the table as Zen leans around me.

“What did you call me? Do you have a cute new nickname for me?” Eyes glowing with affection. Face hovering closer to mine and without thought my hands lifted to cover his waiting lips.

“Yes, it’s a new nickname. I hope you know I adore you, Zen, but you need to demonstrate more caution. It would kill me to hurt your career.” The sincerity in my words seems to affect him as Zen straightens up and instead just studies me for a moment.

“You worry about me a lot don’t you?” Serious and increasingly subdued, Zen’s mood seemed to have flipped in response to my appeal. Mind buzzing over everything I’ve said and done today and realized that statement was precisely correct.

“Maybe it’s not my right to, but I can’t help myself.” Fretting through my confession, glancing down when Zen grips my hand to pause me.

“I’ll behave, jagi. You’re right of course.” Laughing awkwardly, the smile he flashes has lost the usual pomp and instead I’m gifted once again with his natural appearance. “I’m starting to learn you are usually right. Which I like.” Tender in his appraisal, Zen squeezes my hand. “Please take care of me.” Octave rinsing as Zen attempts to persuade me with cuteness. The humor doesn’t quite reach his eyes and I can see the tinge of desperation buried deeply there. Seeing through his bravado, Zen was laying something of himself very bare for me.

Nibbling my lip, stepping into him as I straighten Zen’s shirt. Fiddling to button one of the top holes and brushing his bangs from his face. Really considering him for a moment, expression placid and inviting. “When I take you home, darling Zen, that means you’re now mine forever.” Stunned, Zen stumbles as he tries to step and feverishly attempts to get control.

“I should take you back to work, Lea and not because I don’t like what you just offered me even if you were kidding. No because it’s what I want so badly-“ Letting out a shaky breath, vermillion gaze locking on me as he tries to smile. Appearing a little lost.

“Let’s go, darling.” Cherishing the chance to be brave for him for a moment. Gripping Zen’s hand tightly. Wordlessly we clean our mess and exit the cafe. The streets are even busier. “I hope you know I meant every word I said.” Maintaining social graces, except we couldn’t seem to unwind our fingers. Pursing his lips, Zen is reflective.

“Want to hear something insane?” Staring off into the distance as he asks, it tells me this is more serious than his tone suggests.

“Always,” Curious I wait, baited to hear what he replies.

“I don’t want to go to work.” Choking on his words, Zen’s lips twist into a rueful grin. “Me, the man that lives, breathes and dies for the stage. I want to take you home and make dinner together and feed each other. I don’t want to leave you.” How could a man who was much larger than me in various ways be juxtaposed to seem so small.

Overcome with my feelings for Zen, achenly tired of being in public. Recklessly tempted to go back to his apartment with him. Trying to be responsible but realizing all I truly desire is to give in to everything I want. When I pull him towards a side street, Zen follows. We both are shirking things we should be doing, places we will soon needto be. Instead of apprehension I felt relief, because this was what I truly needed. There’s an alcove, the way a building was designed for a side door that makes it impossible to see the doorway unless you’re directly in front of it.

Dropping Zen’s hand to instead roughly grab the front of his shirt and drag him into it behind me. It’s simple for him to read my intentions, taking my permission he crushes my back into the cool stone behind. My heart flutters wildly as he seemingly slows time, lost in the depths of his intense stare. Nuzzling his nose along my cheeks, hands starting at my shoulders and traveling down to grip and kneed my rear. Barely containing something wild within his gaze, positioning his lips an inch away from mine. Succumbing to him, mewling needy, his hot breath sending shivers across my skin.

“I want you.” Barely a whisper, his hunger evident in the desperate press of his mouth. Claiming mine and swiftly deepening the contact. Tasting him and the tea he’d been drinking, dizzy on his cologne and the heat of his body. Earlier was nothing compared to now, we were ravousness with one another. A small sample of our future, a glimpse of the intensity with which we’re captured. Finding my hands carding through his hair and keeping them there. Afraid to allow them to drop lower. Uncertain if I will be able to stop myself from attempting to touch him.

Moaning lightly, lost in sensation as Zen draws his lips from mine to caress along my jaw. “My pretty, sweet girl. I’m going to gobble you up-“ Murmuring into my skin, feeling him fumbling with the buttons on the front of my shirt.

“Zenny-“ Conflicted between concern of progressing too far for this setting and the throbbing in my core to feel more of him. Shushing me, firmly gripping my wrists with his hands to hold me in place.

“Just one detail, princess.” Panting into my throat licking a long strip to my chest as hips pressing forward I cry out for him. Chuckling against my breastbone Zen is reveling in my demand for him. “Needy little darling.” Lips caressing the patch of skin above my clavicle. “Mine.” All I feel is the manipulation of his mouth, the roughness of his teeth followed by tender massaging of his tongue. Groaning when he lifts to stand again, my body feels cold without him so tightly against it. Glancing up, Zen is watching me as I try to regain myself, his expression fond.

“I love it.” Running his thumb along the base of my neck, I’m blinking still fighting the sluggish reactions from my brain.

“What do you mean?” The question met by a wicked smirk. Tugging me forward against him, before twisting my smaller form so I could see myself in the reflection of the glass on the door. Staring a perfect ohof surprise on my face. Vibrant against the pallor of my skin is a growing mark obviously left there by the man who is still running his fingers along it.

“Zen, I have to go back to work.” Twisting to look at him eye to eye, reprimand clear. The boyish petulance my aggravation is met with confounds me.

“That’s why I did it, you belong to me.” The uncertainty in his gaze betrays the pomposity in his bearing. Intent on my reaction, even as I can see he’s nervous I’ll be angry. It would be within my right to critique his actions, but I can’t. I’ll always choose whatever makes him happiest.

“You’re lucky I’m so taken with you.” Instead I slip up on my tiptoes to lightly press my lips back to his. “I like belonging to you.” Confessing as I wiggle from his grip, attempting to adjust my shirt to cover a little of his gift. Chasing me back to the sidewalk as I chide myself because I know this daydream has to end soon.

“Do you mean that?” Fixing my hair as he asks the question I realize that Zen must see our return to our realities as eminent also. Leaving him was getting more difficult. The feel of his arms around me is enough to hopefully sustain me until our next meeting.

“I always mean what I say to you Zen you’re important to me.” Around us the world was spinning at thousands of miles per hour. At some point I realized our center of gravity had become each other.

Zen: I don’t actually feel like I’m 6'6, though. It just feels like everyone else is too small.

Yoosung: Just say you’re 6'6 and go.

Luciel: It’s no big deal. Yoosung and I go through your stuff all the time. Which reminds me – why do you keep your bread in the freezer?

Yoosung: Yeah, and why does the mirror say “You’re special” when you fog it up?

Zen: I do not have to answer to–

Zen: You took a shower??

Yoosung: I brushed my teeth with toothpaste that’s making everything taste far too effervescent.

Zen: I’m constantly looking up words you say to find out what they mean.

Yoosung: Teeth are the sharp things in your mouth, and toothpaste helps to keep them clean and shining.

Zen: Please don’t tell Jaehee! She’s gonna—

Yoosung: Kill your ass?

Zen: Exactly! And I’m very protective of my ass, it’s one of my best features!

Zen, to Jumin: Look. I’m sorry I shaved your cat. But get over it.

Yoosung: I vote we -

Zen: No, sorry, and no offense, Yoosung, but the stakes here are too high to let someone with your limited intellectual processing capacity weigh in.

Yoosung: I was gonna agree with you.

Zen: Oh, great, well, that’s two votes for my plan.

Reprinting and Recreating are NOT Allowed

I loved doing this. It’s one of my favorites ^^

My piece for the @mysmehalloweenzine! Final sales for the zine end on May 5th!

So if there’s merch still available, I highly recommend supporting the zine. I love the Halloween aesthetic so everything about the zine was right up my alley ^-^
Was given permission to post it a few weeks ago. I wanted to try and finish something else before I posted…But that thing is taking longer than expected and now I figured why the hell should I wait?

I’m on a roll. More Zen and MC fluff cause I can’t get enough of it. I love how flirty Zen gets at night tbh.

Happy B-Day Zen! I wanted to do something bigger for you but a misbehaving tablet and a sore wrist made it difficult to finish in time TvT  For some reason, I like doodling Zen and MC cuddling in bed. Zen just looks like he’ll be warm to snuggle

I’ll try and make it up for small updates in 2019 by fixing up a lot of Zen doodles and comics I drafted. I’m not done celebrating Zen just yet.

MYSME - Short Comic

Finally done! This is my first time made a short comic, from the first slide of the comic is inspired by comics “Invitation of Mystic Messenger” On Eps 17

When Jaehee showed The Photo of Zen to Hana, so i'II change the MC to the original one and i'II use the same picture of zen that i’ve been draw and post before, oh yeah i make it to mini character cuz it makes me more easy to draw haha Σ(⊙▽⊙")

There were lots of ideas that came to my mind to make this short comic, but because my skills still didn’t match expectations well that’s it (╥╯﹏╰╥)ง

Anyways hope y'all like it!

I made a playlist on Spotify of songs that remind me of Jumin which lead me to writing this fic. I could imagine Jumin going all out with organising a performance of a love song from a playlist they share! I hope you enjoy!

Word count: 1984

Jumin sat at his desk with his head in his hands. Trying to juggle work, RFA party preparations, and on top of those, the planning process for his wedding to his fiancée was becoming a little too much. He insisted on helping MC with everything so she wouldn’t have to feel the stress herself, but he didn’t quite realize how much it was going to impact him.

His biggest concern was finding someone to perform at the wedding. This was a surprise he was planning behind MC’s back, which he was trying his hardest to keep on the down-low. Not even his assistant knew about this! It would be a simple task to get Assistant Kang to research some singers on his behalf, but it was that important to him that he had to find someone himself.

His mind raced with thoughts on what to do. He had the perfect idea of execution in his head: It would be done during the reception dinner, just after the speeches are all done, where he would surprise her with a live performance of a love song. A love song that meant a lot to both of them. A song that they would frequently play from their shared playlist. A song that they danced to around the penthouse whilst it played. In his head it was perfect. He just needed to make that dream into a reality. Not only for himself but for his future wife.

A sudden idea came to mind. What would make this even more personal would be to get someone they both know to perform! And Jumin had one person in mind.

Jumin reached for his phone sat next to a pile of documents and opened the messenger. One person was online: Zen. Just the person he was looking for.

And with a tap of his screen, he was gone. In a way, a small weight had been lifted from his heavy shoulders. It hasn’t even been confirmed that Zen would help, but Jumin knew deep down that some part of Zen wouldn’t resist this opportunity.

He’s a close friend to MC and he cares for her. Jumin even envied the friendship they have on the odd occasion, but he knew in his heart no matter how close they were, it was just as friends. And he respected that.

A couple of hours passed before the young heir heard a loud knock on his office door.  He got up from his chair, adjusting his three-piece suit before heading towards the door. He took a deep breath in to prepare himself. A small part of him was nervous about making such a request to Zen.

When he opened the door he was greeted by his assistant, with Zen stood only inches behind her looking a little uncomfortable.

“Mr. Han, I can only presume you asked Zen to come here. May I ask why?” Jaehee asked with a perplexed tone and expression. Jumin’s face was forced to be stoic. He did not want anyone knowing his plan.

“It’s a private matter. I’m sorry but I can only discuss it with him.” Jumin coldly replies. From the corner of his eye, he could see Zen’s eyebrows furrow and his eyes narrow.

“Very well sir. I shall leave you two to talk.” Jaehee bowed and moved aside to let Zen enter the office. She walked away silently to resume her work.

Jumin gestured for Zen to sit on one of the seats positioned in front of his desk. The silver-haired actor cautiously made his way over to a chair, his confusion of the situation growing bigger by the second.

An awkward silence flooded the executive director’s office. The tension between the two young men would refuse to settle as they couldn’t comfortably keep their distance from each other.

Jumin positioned himself in front of his desk, leaning his frame and hands against the dark mahogany. His gaze was focused on the floor in front of him. He bit his lip, trying desperately to figure out how to start a conversation with the other man. His fingers traced the wooden texture of the desk as he focused on what to say. Jumin had never been this frozen when talking to someone. Maybe because he was asking for something related to his beloved fiancée?

“So… Are you going to explain why you wanted to talk to me in private?” Zen restlessly inquired, his tone was somewhat annoyed.

Jumin’s head jolted up to look at Zen’s. His eyes wider than usual, as if he was pulled out from a trance.

“Oh, Right” Jumin cleared his throat. He moved behind his desk to look in a drawer for a small notebook.

“You know, this is just as uncomfortable for me as it is for you!” The actor pointed out. Jumin shot a bitter grin in his direction as he grabbed the book from within the drawer.

“Thank you for that statement,” Jumin mumbled as he returned to stand near the actor again. “Anyway, I need you to promise not to tell anyone about what we’re about to discuss. Even if you decide not to help, you cannotsayanything! Alright?”

“Alright! Just tell me what you need!” Zen crossed his arms over his chest in frustration as he leaned back into the chair.

“I have heard from multiple sources that not only are you a good actor, but you can sing…” Jumin cleared his throat. “I have been thinking for a long time about this and the conclusion my thoughts came to was you.”

Zen’s face scrunched up in confusion. His red eyes narrowed as he continued to listen to what the corporate heir had to say.

“I want to do something special for MC on our wedding day.”

“I’m pretty sure with everything you’ve given her so far would make it special enough. Seriously, dude, you spoil her too much!”

Jumin gritted his teeth at the comment. He felt anger but forced himself to remain calm. This is for MC’s sake. Jumin believed that she deserved the whole world if he was able to give it to her! He did not think he was spoiling his fiancée too much at all. In fact, he felt the opposite. It felt like he wasn’t doing enough for her!

“Not only special but personal!” Jumin jumped back in, catching the other man off guard with his rougher tone. He tried his hardest to hide any negative emotions that were being pulled out from inside him.

Zen was taken aback by the sudden tone. It made him reconsider what the dark-haired man would want to ask him. He felt curious.

“During the reception dinner, would you be willing to perform a song for us? As a special surprise for MC” A faint red tinted Jumin’s cheeks as the thought over his plan again.

“So that’s why you couldn’t talk about it in the messenger…” Zen’s face relaxed as he now understood Jumin’s odd behaviour. “And I take it you feel that this isn’t something to be talked about over the phone? That’s why you asked to meet me in person?”

The businessman nodded. His hand ran across the spine of the notebook before he opened it. He took a pen from the holder on his desk and prepared himself to start writing things down. Notes were already scattered throughout the pages of the book. Many were related to his ideas for the wedding. A variety of different styles of his handwriting made the pages look cluttered and unorganized, which juxtaposed how Jumin was in person. It reflected the thoughts in his mind, however. Showing just how rampant his ideas were when it came to pleasing his fiancée.

“Do you have an idea of what you’d want me to sing? If you want me to I can also play the accompaniment.” Zen asked with a fraction of a smile pulling onto his expression. It was an extremely rare occurrence for Zen to smile around Jumin. It was only because of MC that it happened. He could see how much the man in front of him loved his friend so much.

“I have made a list,” Jumin stated. “It’s only a small one but you can choose whatever one you feel would be most appropriate for you. I trust you’d want to pick one that would fit your singing style the best. All of these songs mean something to us so it’s not a huge deal which one you choose. Let me rewrite the list for you.”

His thumbs fumble around the paper to find a clean page. Referring to his notes, Jumin copied the name of each song down in neat, clear writing. Once he finished, he carefully tore out the page and handed it to Zen. The actor took it and studied the words written. Jumin couldn’t tell what he was thinking. There was something about his expression that worried him.

“I’ll do it.”

Jumin looked at the younger man in disbelief. He couldn’t quite believe what he just heard. Did he just say he’d do it?

The businessman cracked a subtle smile. Something he couldn’t hide. Thoughts of his surprise plan ran wild in his head. The fact that it was going to become a reality made him excited. Imagining his fiancée’s reaction gave him a childlike giddiness that only she could ever make him feel.

“Thank you, Zen. Really! You don’t understand how much I appreciate this” It was odd for Jumin to talk that way to Zen. However, with his beautiful fiancée in mind, he couldn’t help it. It may have made the actor uncomfortable, but it would have made the businessman feel just as bad. But it couldn’t be helped. Jumin was it’s so happy!

Zen forced a smile. He too felt happy but he couldn’t bring himself to think that the dark-haired man could act such a way around him. He wasn’t used to it, nor would he think he would ever get used to it. He would agree that it was a positive change but he couldn’t wrap his head around it still.

“You know I’m doing more for MC than for you right? I still think you two are rushing things but I can see now that you care about her a lot.”

“I know. There’s no need for you to remind me. However, I genuinely appreciate that you’ll help me out. I’m serious.” Jumin’s arms crossed across his chest. He was trying to remain professional when in reality, inside the excitement was becoming unbearable.

The two men wrapped up their meeting and said their farewells. Their exchanges seemed less tense. Jumin closed his office door after returning and leaned on it. His hand ran through his silky hair. A toothy smile bared his face and he chuckled to himself.

He was eager for his wedding day. He was desperate to know about the details of the wedding she’s hiding from him. However, knowing he had a secret too made it easier to wait. He knew that his bride to be will love his plan as much as he does!
