I really had fun writing all these pieces for @jaytimweek, after this piece I run out of fumes for the last two days, so I’ll be stopping here. I hoped you enjoyed reading these pieces.

“Son of a bitch. You are lucky you are so pretty baby bird.”

Stepping out of the shower Jason shook the excess water off as he began drying himself off with a towel, once he was certain he was dry enough he wrapped the towel loosely around his hips as he went in search of the clothing that had been in the bathroom with him. He hadn’t even heard the door open but he knew that wouldn’t stop his mate.

Located on a hill in northern California is a tree known by the locals as The Hanging Tree”. Its story is a gruesome one…

Several years ago, a local football team went up to the old tree to unwind after losing the big homecoming game. Being good sports, they invited the winning team to join them. A few members of the other team took them up on that offer and made the long trek to the top of the hill. Once there, they got drunk and began taunting the losing team over their loss. Seeing their rivals so drunk, the losing team came up with the perfect plan for revenge. They stripped the members of the rival team naked and tied them to the old, gnarled tree. They then left, leaving their rivals to fend for themselves overnight. The next morning they contacted the remaining rivals, telling them where they could find their friends. When the remaining players arrived at the hill they were met with a gruesome sight. Their friends were hanging from the old tree, their bodies completely skinned. It is not known what happened to them during the night but the tree is now said to curse anyone who touches it.

Do you dare touch “The Hanging Tree”?

“The Hanging Tree” is said to sit upon a large hill known as “The Top of the World”. Its exact location is unknown but it’s said to be somewhere in northern California. If you happen to find it, please don’t touch it!

El hombre del saco, or Sack Man, is a boogeyman-like figure that collects disobedient children in a large sack and devours them. He is typically described as being skinny and incredibly hideous. The legend of el hombre del saco hails from Spain though similar legends do exist worldwide. In Brazil he is commonly known as o homem do saco. In this version of the legend, he does not eat the children but sells them. Needless to say, children worldwide are urged to be on their best behavior lest the Sack Man get them!

Maximón (less commonly known as San Simón) is a folk saint that is worshiped in many forms by the Maya of Western Guatemala.

According to one commonly told legend, Maximón is a man who slept with all the wives of a certain village while the men worked in the field. Upon returning and finding their women in the arms of another man, the men attacked Maximón and cut off his arms and legs. Thus was born Maximón.

Unlike most other folk saints, offers to Maximón are made in an effort to avoid his anger as he is seen as a dark figure. When people do come to Maximón for help, it is usually to seek revenge or to have personal success at the expense of others.

Common offers to Maximón are alcohol and cigarettes and his shrines can be found throughout the highlands of Guatemala…if you dare to seek his help.

We know this looks a little like a tutorial, but please don’t do this at home. Dragon teeth are best used only as decorative pieces.

Note: Sowing dragon teeth.
It’s told (Pseudo-Apollodorus, Bibliotheca; Apollonius Rhodius, Argonauticae) that if you take some dragon teeth and sow them in a well ploughed field, they’ll grow up into some fierce warriors, fully armed, called Spartoi (which in ancient Greek means “the sown ones”).
The first to experiment this hardcore garening techniques was Cadmus, instructed by Athena: it was her who suggested the hero to toss a coin to your witch-ehr, no. To toss a rock amidst the newly grown warriors. That act indeed distracted them: they accused each other of the offending act, and killed each other sparing Cadmus. The five that survived the skirmish helped Cadmus building Thebes up.
The second one was, later, Jason, challenged by King Aeetes in Colchis. Poor Aeetes was most likely hoping to spare himself some nuisance and get rid of the nth hero come there with an attitude to be killed in the pursue of the golden fleece. Sadly, Medea was already looking at this particular hero with heart-shaped eyes, and she told Jason what to do exactly, included the trick of the rock to avoid getting chopped up by the Spartoi.
Moral of the story: You may be tired of seeing monsterae deliciosae all over Instagram, but they aren’t THAT dangerous.

Last night the 2nd Round of Qualifiers was posted… And Alexis of Troy made it through to the last round!! I am so proud of this random story that I literally came up with in a couple of hours. The contest isn’t over yet but the fact that I got this far is so amazing ❤️

I am super into mythology right now, and out of all kinds of mythology, Norse is definitely my favorite!! This myth in particular describes how Thor has to dress up as his mom, Frigga, in order to retrieve his hammer from a giant. Loki decides to accompany him as a bridesmaid to watch the whole event unfold.

Haunted Meayll Hill Stone Circle, Isle of Man

Meayll Hill (Mull Hill) is not a true stone circle, but a unique group of Neolithic chambered tombs built around 3500 BC. These tombs are characteristic for Neolithic farmers in the British Isles, but the arrangement of 12 of them in ring formation is very unusual and no one knows why they were arranged this way. A group of stone foundations of Neolithic huts can be found nearby to the east with an ancient pathway running between the two sites.

According to local lore, some visitors have had unpleasant paranormal experiences at Meayll Hill, including the feeling of sudden disorientation. Others have seen unexplained moving lights and heard strange sounds, like the cadence of invisible horses trotting or galloping by. One tale says that a phantom army of horsemen has been seen riding along the circle.

The site is located just outside the village of Cregneash at the southern end of the Isle of Man, in the Irish Sea between England and Ireland.

Dunlough Castle, County Cork, Ireland

Dunlough Castle (aka Three Castles) sits on top of the cliffs at the most western part of the Mizen Peninsula. It overlooks the Atlantic Ocean from the extreme southwest point of Ireland. On the other side of the castle is the man-made Dunlough Lake. Founded in 1207 by Donagh O’Mahony, Dunlough is one of the oldest Norman castles in southern Ireland. The O’Mahonys lived there peacefully and in other nearby castles for the next 400 years, earning their living primarily from fishing and related industries. After the Battle of Kinsale in 1601, their fortunes declined and by 1627 the castle had passed into loyalist hands. It was probably abandoned not long after that.

The castle is allegedly haunted by some of the O'Mahonys, many of whom met a terrible fate, dying by either murder or suicide and because of this, it is said that a drop of blood drips from the towers every day. Another legend says that if someone sees the spectral “white lady” of the nearby Dunlough Lake their death soon follow.

legendofmerthur:

I want to know what the HELL did Uther think when he decided not to tell Arthur and Morgana that they are siblings back when they were little. They literally flirted with eachother in season 1 aka they considered eachother as possible partners and that’s just sick. And that’s Uther’s FAULT.

I’m just laughing cause at the time marriage between family was normal. Like BASIC

But above all because in some version of the original legends of Camelot etc Morgana and Arthur have sex and they are Mordred’s parents.
