A New Podcast Approaches
What is Crooked Lane?
Crooked Lane is an upcoming horror/supernatural fiction podcast. Each episode is presented as one or more entries in the audio journal of Newton Wallace, who’s recently moved back home to pursue a career in carpentry. Due to a sudden severe arm injury, however, he is unable to attend trade school until he’s fully healed, and so fills his time with recordings in an audio journal that, eventually, also become a way for him to log the otherworldly events that occur on Crooked Lane.
Will there be auditions?
For the inaugural season, no. For upcoming seasons, yes. As this is very much a shot in the dark passion project, the initial season will simply be recordings from Newt’s journal so as to minimize production hassle and keep everything as streamlined as possible. When the series does choose to introduce more characters, however, information about auditions will be made public as soon as it is available.
What is Crooked Lane influenced by?
First and foremost, the real life Crooked Lane in King Of Prussia, Pennsylvania. On a more serious note, podcasts such as Welcome To Night Vale, The Magnus Archives, and Archive 81 are all large influences, though it should be said that we are not attempting to directly copy any of them.

Thank you all so much for the love and support! We’re so sorry for our absence, but we hope to be back soon!
Shamelessly stealing this idea/announcement from @khorapodcast (who you should absolutely go follow, btw), but if you ever have any questions, our askbox is always open!
…
(please ask us things, rambling about our content is what we do best)
Bringing this back again! Ask us stuff!
Now that we’re officially launched, we figured it was a good time to open our asks! Feel free to ask us anything about the show, the characters, the history of stage magic, our favorite card tricks, ducks, Jean-Jacquline Lemarque…
(Also shout out to @khorapodcastand@crookedlanepodcast who are also answering asks–you should absolutely go check them out!)

Reason #1 to be excited for Starfall:
Yknow that specific brand of villain miniboss that’s more engaging than the main villain, usually because of their quirky personality, good looks, and much cooler powers & weapons?
Yeah, we’re gonna have those.
I’m a broke student. Well, I mean, former student. Left college to go to trade school, but of course I can’t do that now, because I just had to be an idiot and break my arm.
-Newton Wallace, Episode 1 (“Pilot”)
Did a very preliminary recording of Draft 1, and it ran about 11 minutes, which is way more than I expected. I’ll add another thousand or so words to Draft 2, see what happens. Really happy with my progress so far.
Here’s your sneak peak of the first draft of the pilot, featuring Newt rambling about cats
THE FIRST DRAFT OF THE PILOT EPISODE IS OFFICIALLY DONE! Two or three more drafts, and the pilot will be good to go! After that, only…18-24 more drafts to go before the Prologue is done. AAAAAAAAAAAAA
So, since my phone’s recorder app doesn’t seem to want to open without instantly crashing, I guess I’m using this. Miracle it even works anymore. Not my first choice, believe me, but it gets the job done in a pinch.
-Newton Wallace, Episode 1 (“Pilot”)
Hoping to finish up Draft 1 of the pilot episode today. If that seems like a lot of progress for less than a week, remember that I have to do at least two or three more drafts for this, and THEN multiple drafts of SIX more episodes after this before the seven episode prologue is ready to be recorded. Yeesh.
STARFALL: A FANTASY PODCAST WIP
“Starfall” is a secondary-world fantasy fiction podcast. It follows the performances and adventures of the Carouvel Traveling Acting Troupe, beginning as they are joined by their new “security apprentice,” an enigmatic young woman named Leona who gradually learns about their ways while helping protect their precarious position with her giant, summonable sword.

Do you like podcasts? Do you like Greek mythology, but wish they could have a little more women in them (and a good deal less misogyny)? Have you ever thought about a genre and thought, wow wouldn’t that be cool if it was 100% queerer, and in space?
I’ve got a podcast for you!
Khôra Podcast is a fiction podcast/audio drama about all the women in Greek mythology who deserved so, so much better. It’s also set in a dieslepunk galaxy far far away, where technology is magic, and most everything is controlled by the sometimes benevolent, sometimes totally evil Olympus Corp. Season one will follow some of the women from the tale of Jason and the golden fleece, as they try to return a missing fleece to Colchis. It’s got robots, it’s got sentient space ships, and most importantly, it’s All About The Ladies!
More info, like production updates, behind the scenes stuff, and an eventual release date, will be coming in the future! Follow this blog to stay updated!
Me: Oh man, I can’t wait to post previews and do Q&A’s and show off character info-
Someone: What about actually writing your podcast?
