#racial equality

LIVE

Oh oh ohhh this is so not cool. I can’t believe they’re going there. A jaw droppingly LGBTQ hate and racist kind of not cool.

Florida governor DeSantis is directly targeting Disney World for being conspicuously LGBTQ equality supportive, and throwing the weight of his office to take them down for it… and more than that, if you read his written statement to his supporters, it’s racist too.

YOU NEED TO KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON IN FLORIDA… read it here:

The “Don’t Say Gay” laws that DeSantis is fighting dirty for are laws aimed at making it illegal to even mention the existence of LGBTQ people in schools, including giving guidance, protection from bullying, and emotional support to LGBTQ children, and erasing all LGBTQ history from being taught or discussed in schools. Beyond safe sex and inclusiveness- Pride and Stonewall civil rights history? It would be illegal to discuss. The very local Pulse massacre? Illegal history too. “Help- I’m gay and my dad is beating me…” pleas from children to teachers or guidance counselors? Illegal too.

IT’S REPOST TIME, NETIZENS!

LGBTQ+ USAians: hey can we have equal rights

conservatives: stop shoving your AGENDA in my face!

Black USAians: can you stop killing us

conservatives: wow ok that is un-American. Respect our police!

Asian USAians and Latino USAians: we’re part of this country too, can you stop treating us like we don’t belong and respect our culture

conservatives: are you trying to ERASE this country?!?!?!

Indigenous USAians: how about you admit all the atrocities you committed and also stop further hurting Native communities

conservatives: what sort of anti-white PROPOGANDA is this?!?!?

I don’t know why it didn’t occur to me to advertise for this ahead of time to get more Virginia residents to come out, but last weekend at Virginia Power Shift was terrific. I went because of the large environmental activist representation, but it was truly an event for all social activists to learn about issues from racial equality, to fracking, to LGBTQ concerns.

I encourage any residents of Virginia (or non-residents, there was one guy from Vermont) to come out to the 2016 Power Shift for a great time of learning and tackling large issues as a community. While mostly a college student event, other members of the community were warmly welcomed and anyone can buy a ticket (only $11 for a weekend of inspiration O:) . This year it took place at The University of Mary Washington and the next location is pending. I will definitely be going again as long as a terrible conflict doesn’t arise, so you should come and say hi! (In the second photo I am against the middle window to the right. There is my moment of fame)

why can’t Irish people use the n-word? Irish immigrants were often called “white niggers” in the US and Irish Catholics were called “white niggers” during the troubles.

If black people can say it as a way of owning their oppression, then why can’t the Irish?

Oh that’s right, because racially segregating words is okay.

Either everyone can say it, or no one can.

Respectability politics are deadly garbage no matter what form they take.

And this is why if your feminism isn’t intersectional, I’m not interested in having anything to do with you.
