Today we mourn the murder of another brother, killed by the Chilean state

Wallmapu it’s grieving, Ñuke Mapu it’s crying.

The Werken of Collipulli, Alejandro Treuquil, was killed by the Chilean police, after receiving multiple death threats.

In Latin America, the indigenous population it’s being killed with impunity. Tribes are being erased. They are trying to wipe our culture.

If “all lives matter” was an actual belief system, rather than a slogan used to silence marginalized groups when they ask for “too much,” All Lives Matter people would in theory be the “wokest,” most activistic group of people around.

Some friendly reminders about BTS officially coming out in support:

-They have always, and I trust as an army that they always will, spoken about and stood for unity, love and being true to yourself and condemned hatred and oppression. Love Yourself and loving others will always be at the core of them and us as army

-I have no doubt they were donating behind the scenes but if they had spoken out earlier, they would have been trending instead of the movement and the praising of their actions would have drowned out the voices we’re supposed to be amplifying

-This is probably the same reason they won’t tell us how much they’ve donated, at least for now because we all know the papers will jump on that and this isn’t about them

-Despite all this, black armys- and any armys- who were upset and spoke out about BTS’ apparent silence up until now are fully justified in their feelings and no one else has the right to tell them how to feel.

-Now is not the time to say ‘I told you so’

-As excited as a lot of us are about this, don’t let it distract us. BTS know we love them, let’s spend our time and energy supporting and amplifying the movement and its voices because this isn’t over just because our favs said something on twitter

-I purple you all, we’re stronger together

I don’t know why it didn’t occur to me to advertise for this ahead of time to get more VI don’t know why it didn’t occur to me to advertise for this ahead of time to get more V

I don’t know why it didn’t occur to me to advertise for this ahead of time to get more Virginia residents to come out, but last weekend at Virginia Power Shift was terrific. I went because of the large environmental activist representation, but it was truly an event for all social activists to learn about issues from racial equality, to fracking, to LGBTQ concerns.

I encourage any residents of Virginia (or non-residents, there was one guy from Vermont) to come out to the 2016 Power Shift for a great time of learning and tackling large issues as a community. While mostly a college student event, other members of the community were warmly welcomed and anyone can buy a ticket (only $11 for a weekend of inspiration O:) . This year it took place at The University of Mary Washington and the next location is pending. I will definitely be going again as long as a terrible conflict doesn’t arise, so you should come and say hi! (In the second photo I am against the middle window to the right. There is my moment of fame)
