I’m adding my photos from this year’s Bristol Renaissance Faire to my Flickr in a timely manner this year. (not like last year when I was so exhausted at the end of every week, it was all I could do to email them to my boss-lady).
In this batch: Weeks 1 through 5. Including the Steam Powered Giraffe concert that happened on Saturday of Week 4. I also put all the SPG concert photos in their own album.

And here’s the scene as I remember it. The forest faerie was yelling at the disinterested cow sprite about the intruder who had entered the woods as the Lord of Gas was terrorizing her with his odorous evil… and then a giant lizard crawled out from under the stage.
My doublet look only ever got about 30% done for the tournament due to time; so properly making it all for the Midsummer Gala in July ❤️ step one HAT. Always wanted a cavaliers hat for Bella and I’m so happy with this one *___* Avalon leather was very accommodating to both get one to me (they don’t sell online just at ren faires normally) and customizing it to make sure it would match my outfit.
Upgrades on deck now: Cavaliers cloak, proper blouse and pants, velvet gauntlet gloves, swap the buttons on the doublet for higher quality metal ones, and a decorative sword belt.

I had ordered some horns in the hopes I could find a lower price base for my Etsy horns but LOOK WHAT HAPPENED IN THE MAIL! They broke! That definitely won’t work for my shop. Buuuuuut I think I can fix them for myself and make a new headpiece!
So I was at a renaissance faire as Daenerys this past weekend and suddenly ran into an entire Monty Python group. I must admit that this is possibly the greatest video I’ve ever done in cosplay

I went to Carolina Ren Fest as Mollymauk for the Critter meetup. My photographer friend wanted cool walking footage of Mollymauk, but I’m awkward and my only coping mechanism for social anxiety is wiggling and jazz hands. But I think it works for him…
Amazing talent and truly a good person. I only got one photo due to arriving at the show late (whoopsies) When she finished she joked about us owing her 5 dollars and we said my mom (who was elsewhere) had the money so she said “Then your mom can owe me!”(jokingly obviously, it was really good natured ribbing) As Adria was packing up my mom came by and since I liked the nature of Adria and she is good at what she does I kinda hollered “mom you owe her five dollars” at which point Adria offered mom a quick show since mom had seen none of the actual show. the kicker was Adria didn’t do a regular feat of three knives (which she did in the show) but she did some 4 knife “experimental” juggling which she is working on for her show. “they are real” she said as she let some drop due to the angle being poor for catching and continuing, but she did a pretty good run and told some jokes and it was pretty great. So we gave her ten dollars.
They were good, and there was an older lady wandering the faire saying “do not go to that stage and listen to those devil drums” who they later dragged onto the stage and “forced” to dance. Good advertising. xD
These are two guys worth admiration. Eric was the more experienced fighter with the pointy mask, the younger was Curtis(aka Sir What) with the rounded.
It was 80°F+/- and they were in FULL METAL ARMOR BEATING THE SHIT OUT OF EACH OTHER USING TRADITIONAL TECHNIQUES. As Sir Eric said, it’s not the weight of the armor is the heat. They were basically walking human ovens, doing athletics. Huzzah and good show sirs.
At the end of the final joust there were shenanigans. the guys were being goofy, I assume there was a tie in points (or they are good at putting on a show), because the Lady deciding victory asked the crowd to choose a victor. This was the Blue Knight being all “Yesssss? Blue you say? YESSSSSS!” And the Red Knight threw a mock tantrum, knocking over the rope lines and basically acting like a spoiled brat, but all in fun. I was across the field from the action and didn’t have my zoom lens so this is the best end of day shenanigans photo I got.
Fun anecdote: My friend was wearing a red and black dress and when she approached the horse after the joust to pet it it must have recognized the colors (or shades, do horses see actual color?) because it kept nosing her and ignoring the other people. When we came back after the second joust she told me the handlers were joking about the horse remembering her from earlier. Because it was giving her the attention again.
