I don’t normally post long things, but as a dog owner I was reminded tonight how much like family my dog is to me. My pup Gambit was outside when he got spooked by someone shooting off fireworks. He was gone for almost two hours. Thank goodness I found him with nothing more than a badly skinned and bleeding paw. I’m so thankful for my friends and family who spent an hour with me searching for him. If you have a dog, hug them. Remind yourself why you love them. They love you selflessly everyday without question. I don’t know about you, but I would do anything for my dogs. Last weekend we went to Glen Onoko Falls in Pennsylvania. Tahoe had his first sip of cold mountain water and took his first breath of fresh mountain air, a very important moment for an adventure dog. We had lunch together next to the waterfalls, he munched on his dog food and I had my peanut butter banana sandwich. We scrambled rocks, hopped across streams, howled at the trees and enjoyed the sounds and sights of the waterfalls together. Mans best friend. Although it was a shorter hike, it was refreshing to be in the woods again. This upcoming weekend Jess Tahoe and I with a few friends will be taking a camping trip to upstate New York. Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring.

This lil’ guy was found on the streets of India with a severe case of mange that was threatening his life. Some very kind people have him medicated baths for six weeks and saved his life with a lot of love and dedication! Saving one animal really does make a difference, even if only for that animal.

✨ There has been an article going around saying it’s been scientifically proven that women sleep better next to their dogs - even as opposed to their significant others.
And I have to say…. that article is right Fozzi is my soulmate. He’s my emotional support, my fur baby, my angel bear, my comfort at night when I have nightmares.
We rescued Fozzi from @wrightwayrescue almost 6 years ago! He was 4 years old - terrified, malnourished and traumatized from abuse. He was shaking like a leaf until they put him in my arms and he instantly calmed down, and I knew right then and there that he was my baby. Since then, we have been inseparable. If you know me, you know Fozzi is attached to my hip like no other - and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Lol, don’t call child services—groomers were all shut down and I didn’t have clippers. She has since been given two at-home haircuts by hand with scissors. It…surprisingly didn’t turn out too badly. I’d say 3.5/5 stars.
