Reminder that sexuality =/= gender expression.
A straight man can express himself more femininely.
A non-heterosexual man can express himself more femininely.
A straight woman can express herself more masculinely.
A non-heterosexual woman can express herself more masculinely.

Sexuality is what gender(s) a person is attracted to.

Gender expression is how a person shows and communicates their identity and their personal gender.

That is all.

Stop assuming people are cis.
Stop assuming people are straight.

But also…
Stop assuming all gay men are feminine.
Stop assuming all lesbians are masculine.
Stop assuming bi or pansexuals will date anyone and everyone.

STOP MAKING ASSUMPTIONS.

Have you been drinking enough water?
Have you been eating enough?
Have you been sleeping enough?
Have you showered or bathed?
Have you taken your medication?
Have you stopped to breathe if you are wearing a binder?
Have you smiled at yourself in the mirror?
Have you stopped to take a deep breath and remember how awesome you are?

Are you attracted to the opposite gender? Do you feel comfortable with identifying as straight? Congrats! Valid!

Are you attracted to the same gender? Do you feel comfortable with identifying as gay? Congrats! Valid!

Are you attracted to two or all genders? Do you feel comfortable with identifying as bisexual or pansexual? Congrats! Valid!

Do you not experience sexual attraction? Do you feel comfortable with identifying as asexual or anything on the ace spectrum? Congrats! Valid!

Do you not experience romantic attraction? Do you feel comfortable with identifying as aromantic or anything on the aro spectrum? Congrats! Valid!

Do you not want to label yourself or stick to one identity? Congrats! Valid!

It’s okay to change your pronouns and/or your name multiple times if you feel uncomfortable with the current name and pronouns you use!! Don’t invalidate someone’s gender identity just because they change their pronoun preference or name a few times.

Aromantics can still

  • cuddle
  • kiss
  • go on dates
  • have sexual relationships
  • do anything others can do IF THEY WANT TO

Asexuals can still

  • have sex
  • masturbate
  • have romantic relationships
  • do anything others can do IF THEY WANT TO

Straighten your back and stretch your arms over your head. Take a deep breath. Now cough a few times to rattle things around in your chest. Don’t wear it for more than eight hours if you can help it. Binder safety is very important! Alright, now go ahead and pass this on for someone else who might need it. Thank you!

~~~~~Friendly Reminder That You Are NOT Broken~~~~~
Sexual Attraction: “I want to do the sex with you.”
Romantic Attraction: “I want to date you and be cute and maybe cuddle and kiss you.”
Aesthetic Attraction: “You look hella great and I appreciate your face.”
There are no words for how much this pisses me off. I would rant but just… No words
Honestly, yes, I am a plant. I do reproduce asexually just like a plant. The reason asexuals get so defensive when you ask us that is because we’re hiding our secret identities. But the cat’s out of the bag.
Ace- Why does no body see me? Maybe they hate me. Ace- Can you see me? Pan- Yes. Ace- Why is it you
Ace- Why does no body see me? Maybe they hate me.
Ace- Can you see me?
Pan- Yes.
Ace- Why is it you can but others can’t?
Pan- Because a lot of people don’t believe in what we are. They think we don't exist.
Ace- Hmm… If we don’t exist, can we rob a bank?
Pan- Sure.
Lovely comic created by Caitlin about an asexual cat, Ace, and a pansexual panther, Pan. Hopefully the first of many to come!
