#all lives matter

LIVE

When you say “All Lives Matter” when I say “Black Lives Matter” it sounds like your saying “Black lives don’t matter as much.” And are things to condescend and minigate the importance of our message. And if “All Lives Matter” then “Black Lives” are included and you should be just as mad and heartbroken and standing with us.

When you say “White lives matter too.” when I say “Black Lives Matter” It sounds like you are saying “White lives matter more then black lives.” And it makes me feel like you see me as a traitor of my race for defending another. I akwoldge I have white privlage but at least I can use it to help anyway I can.

When you say “They are all just thugs who are looting and setting things on fire.” when I say “Black Lives Matter" you are only choosing to focus on the handful of the most radical and misguided of those involved and willfully ignoring the peacful protesrs who are using their voice instead of their hands. .

Those are crimes and that is wrong, But the only casualty were things, items, objects that could be replaced and profit, no one was harmed. Murdering unarmed indaviduals based on skin color and suspicion and brutallizing peaceful protesters is arguably much worse. They WERE harmed while not committing any crime other then speaking out and going about their day. Even if they did do something wrong, you should be arrested lawfully and investigated. Not murdered.

When you say “Blue Lives Matter” when I say “Black Lives Matter” it sounds like you are saying “Police matter more and should not be held accountable when they cross a line or take a life unjustly.”

Police know when they signed up that they put their lives on the line everyday to protect and serve others. They knew that there would be a chance they could get hurt or die to protect the community. Black people did not sign up to be black or be killed for doing everyday things or to be asssumed guilty and suspicious wherever they go or whatever they are doing. You can take off a uniform. You cant take off your skin.

When I say “ Black Lives Matter” I am merely stating a truthful fact. If you deny the truth or try to divert it, you are part of the problom, I’m trying be part of the solution.

dramaramaah:

Everyone, pls block this racist & ableist asshat (inclusionist, btw).

“If ‘All Lives Matter’ then why aren’t you mad too?”

If “all lives matter” was an actual belief system, rather than a slogan used to silence marginalized groups when they ask for “too much,” All Lives Matter people would in theory be the “wokest,” most activistic group of people around.

anti-capitalistlesbianwitch:

Being an All Lives Matter activist must be exhausting.I mean, participating in protests against racism and police brutality; vigils; fighting for LGBT rights and gender equality; speaking out against xenophobia and Islamophobia; fighting against homelessness and poverty; working in their communities, etc…. They’re the real heroes.

Feminist: Yeah so prostitution is specifically exploitative along misogynistic and class lines, financially coercing women into sexual exploitation

Male leftist: silly woman you mightn’t be aware but there’s this thing called wage slavery and all work is exploitative and I just thought you didn’t know this because actually class issues impact EVERYONE and not just women and the fact that you specifically chose to talk about women’s issues must mean that you’re unaware that classism exists.

I couldn’t care less about what those of ZERO melanin content are saying in my comment section. It will always be BLACK LIVES MATTER until my black life is valued just as much as my white counterparts. All lives cannot matter until BLACK LIVES MATTER. All lives can not matter until police officers and white men are held accountable for murdering unarmed black people and people of color! All lives can not matter until black people can walk into a hospital and receive the same adequate healthcare as white people. All lives can not matter when you’re shot in the street for trying to deesacalate your AUTISTIC patient. All lives can not matter when a black man can be jogging in his neighborhood but he somehow looks “suspicious” so two white men are allowed to get away with murder UNTIL video surfaced and sent social media into an uproar. All lives can not matter until the police officers that murdered Breonna Taylor are charged for murdering her in her own home on a no knock warrant for someone that they already had in custody. All lives can not matter until the police that murdered Elijah McClain and then JOKED about it on camera are charged for killing an unarmed black man because of a ski mask ALTHOUGH he had a health condition that caused him to always be cold. ALL LIVES CAN NOT MATTER UNTIL WE DON’T HAVE TO EXPLAIN OUR REASONINGS FOR WEARING HOODIES, SKI MASK, JOGGING, WORKING, SLEEPING, and PLAYING. ALL LIVES CAN NOT MATTER when you have a grown black man crying out for his deceased mother because he can not breath due to an ILLEGAL chokehold by a police officer who smugly looks into the camera with no remorse AFTER a store owner FALSELY accused him of using a counterfeit $20 bill. ALL LIVES CAN NOT MATTER UNTIL BLACK LIVES MATTER!

the reactionary white slogan “all lives matter”. ideologically, it signifies not a universalism, but the eradication of the particular within another. It’s not about “all lives” but the consumption of any difference by the ideology of whiteness. It’s a call to keep ‘blackness’ within the bounds of Amerikkkan ideology, where the 'blackness’ of “black lives matter” a declaration of subjectivity, is being treated like what it is: a slave escaping. By negating this subjectivity, whiteness is declaring, “no, you are NOT black. You are just a life. And ALL lives matter. You do not have the right to break away from this project. You are a part of it. We don’t give you permission.” It’s like a shark trying to keep food in it’s belly.

“All lives matter”, it’s a painting of the world in a grey. It betrays the assumption of whiteness itself as a universality, in this way mirroring the drab false globalism of 21st century capitalism, a capitalism that transforms the world into Mcdonalds and Walmart. “All lives matter” is the chant of TNCorporations.

It isn’t a universal. It’s a false universal.

All lives matter and Not All Men have the same energy. Taking the focus away from the victims and blaming them.

I’m not normally one for commenting on politics in my feeds, but I found this beauty on YouTube just now from EyeWitness News ABC7NY, and I think it needs to be shared. This woman has the right of things, and I love how she tells off the rest of the violent protesters for setting a bad example and making life harder for her and others who are trying to make a difference in their lives and others across the nation. And especially for those who are struggling in these hard times.

We need more people like this woman. Can’t say I enjoy the cursing that was edited out, but she has solid and very important points. And I salute her for her bravery.

I’m still of the opinion that all lives matter, including public servants like firefighters, nurses, doctors, EMTs, and yes, even police officers (One of my greatest family friends and examples for me growing up was a cop who served in the SVU, and he served with honor), but I will agree that it’s a clear statistical fact that many good black people are wrongfully profiled and targeted, and it’s time for some reform among those precincts that have such bad cops.

I hope everyone stays safe, and I pray that change will come without people having to endure more abuse and violence.

All this looting, burning, and destruction of property is having a bad impact on people who are already struggling enough as it is.

Stay safe, everyone. May our prayers and voices be heard and answered.

Video of Nandi Cain Jr. getting beaten by Sacramento police officer prompts investigation

  • Bystander footage showing a Sacramento, California, police officer slamming Nandi Cain Jr. — a black man — to the ground and punching him repeatedly in the face during a jaywalking stop on Monday has prompted an internal investigation, the Sacramento Police Department said in a statement.
  • “The actions of the involved Sacramento police officer are disturbing and [do] not appear to be reasonable based upon the circumstances,” the statement read. “The Sacramento Police Department holds itself to the highest professional standard and the actions that were observed are not indicative of the dedicated women and men who work for the department.”
  • Naomi Montaie, the local woman who recorded the incident with her cellphone camera and posted it on Facebook, told reporters that she had never seen anything quite like it. Read more.(4/12/2017 1:03 PM)

WHITE PEOPLE: “Why are Black people so angry?”

BLACK PEOPLE: “Because we get attacked for WALKING. What’s your excuse for killing us?”

It is hard to believe that we are having conversations like these in 2016. It is harder to believe that countless, innocent black men lay cold on the pavement at the hands of public servants 52 years after the Civil Rights act was passed, it’s hardest to believe that not every person is upset about it, some even defend it.

“Black Lives Matter” How does that offend you? What does it say about you if it does? Black Lives Matter doesn’t say that every other life doesn’t matter, it is a cry for help as they feel theirs do not, maybe never have. What does that take from you? What about a group of people crying for help to be equal makes you feel less so? I’m White, I do not understand black struggle.. why should that hurt me to admit? White privilege exists despite your reluctance to admit. This isn’t black supremacy it is black.. scratch that… human equality.

Most police are dedicated, brave, selfless, deserving public servants who I am thankful everyday are there to serve and to protect, but sometimes, just sometimes there are ones who do not serve and do not protect. I understand not all cops are bad just like I know all Muslims aren’t terrorists, all White Christians aren’t Westboro Baptist Church and every black man isn’t Micah Xavier Johnson. All cops are not bad cops, some people are just not fit for such a tough position. I am not fit to be a professional football player, Kylie Jenner is not destined to be a singer, Kim Davis is not meant to be a county clerk and Donald Trump is not fit to be President. In the same way that racist people, people who abuse the power and brutalize and/or people who act predominantly on fear are not fit to be Police Officers.

“More white people were killed by police than black people.” Rightfully so, considering 13% of US citizens are African American while Caucasians make up 63%. With that being said 37% of unarmed people killed by police were black in 2015 despite black people being only 13% of the U.S. population. Nearly 1 in 3 black people killed by police in 2015 were UNARMED. 1 in 3. What if your child was at risk of being that 1 in 3. Would you be stomping the streets? Would you hold up a sign and protest? Would you scream out as loud as your voice will let you “MY CHILD’S LIFE MATTERS!” I would, and no one could stop me. No one should try. People tell me how ridiculous and un-American these Black Lives Matter protests are, apparently they need to pick up a history book or better yet pick up the Constitution that contains the Second Amendment Right they defended so fervently one month ago and tell them to look up one paragraph.

It’s okay to have a gun if you’re a white patriot with a broken tail light but not when you’re a black one. Everyone deserves Second Amendment Rights even those on the no fly list, but not Philando Castile. Everyone deserves a right to be told hands up before cops shoot, but not Tamir Rice. This is America, the police are not our judicial system they do not count as a jury of 12 peers or a judge. Police do not have the right to try, convict, sentence and execute black people on the sidewalk. The media will tell you “Oh, he had a traffic violation in 1995 and has a Facebook picture with his middle finger in the air.” He also had a family, a life and basic human rights.

“All Lives Matter” you are right, they should, but all lives cannot matter until the black ones do too. If you think that all lives matter help fight for the black ones. Find your legislator http://www.house.gov/representatives/find/ and get involved www.blacklivesmatter.com
