For now, the hobbit was fast asleep with a patchwork blanket nestled up to his chin, a candle having been blown out long ago, and nothing but sweet dreams of breakfast or the inevitable sunshine that would poke its rays through Bag End’s windows in a few hours. Something felt off though, and at first, Bilbo didn’t stir, but as the moments ticked on, he tugged at his blanket, a new sort of chill entering the room that was unfamiliar to him.
“Thorin wasn’t sure if it was his heart that stopped first or the music. Silence enveloped him, save for the sound of those light chuckles. As his hood was lifted by an unfamiliar hand, he was greeted with a sight unlike any other.”

of course shadowfax only answers to gandalf, that horse saw gandalf and went “at last someone as dramatic as me” and gandalf spotted shadowfax and went “yeah he is as dramatic as i am and my hair will look great as i ride him, that’s my horse”. their friendship is based on drama because they both look dazzling and they know it

Synopsis:
