Your Fave MIGHT Be Catholic: Susan Egan
Known for: Tony Award nominated actress, singer, dancer, & voice actress, she has done a number of beloved roles for stage, film, & television. As of right now, it’s hard to really state what she is best known for; some will say providing the voice of Megara in the Walt Disney animated classic Hercules, while others will say providing the voice of Rose Quartz in the beloved animated television series Steven Universe. Regardless, she got her start working in theater, & she got her big break playing Belle in the original Broadway run of Beauty & the Beast (as seen above in the left middle picture of the picture set). Other stage shows she has played in include Bye Bye Birdie, State Fair, Triumph of Love, Cabaret, Putting It Together, The Unsinkable Molly Brown, & Thoroughly Modern Millie. Besides Meg & Rose Quartz, she has provided other voice work as well, most notably in English dubs of Hayao Miyazaki films such as Porco Rosso & Spirited Away. She also has a career as a singer, having recorded her own songs & albums, & even performing her own live shows.
Why I say MIGHT as opposed to IS: The truth is, Susan is another celebrity who is excellent at keeping her personal life very private. Because of this, very little is known about her, & this includes her religious beliefs. There are only a few clues that suggest a possible Catholic faith. The first is that her last name, Egan, is a very Irish last name, & suggests an Irish background that possibly raised her in the Catholic faith. But, there’s nothing out there confirming or denying this. Her Instagram feed does show a few pictures of herself in a very Catholic looking wedding dress alongside her husband Robert,as well as a few pictures indicating that she does celebrate Christmas such as this one involving Elf on the Shelf hugging a Belle doll. But again, that’s not really enough to prove anything, & some could even argue that her wedding dress looks no different than any other wedding dress. Still, with what has been provided, anything is possible.

Known for: Tony Award winning actor who dominated as a star in theater, television, & film. He began his career as a stage actor on Broadway, & was a major Broadway star from the 1960s to the 1980s. While he was working in theater, he would occasionally find work in film & television roles, but by the 1980s he made film & television his full-time career, & this was where he received his most notable claims to fame. In the world of theater, some of his most notable plays he appeared in include The ThreePenny Opera, The Fantasticks, Carnival!, The Cradle Will Rock, Guys & Dolls, Carousel, Annie Get Your Gun, Promises, Promises, 6 Rms Riv Vu, Chicago, & 42nd Street. His film credits include Bye Bye Birdie, John Goldfarb, Please Come Home, The Gang That Couldn’t Shoot Straight, Fore Play, The Sentinel, Prince of the City, Brewster’s Millions, Dirty Dancing, Someone To Watch Over Me, Crimes & Misdemeanors, Out For Justice, Beauty & the Beast (he voiced Lumiere the candelabra, FYI), Mr. Saturday Night, Prince of Central Park, Manna from Heaven, & Broadway: The Golden Age, by the Legends Who Were There. His work for television includes Our Family Honor, Murder, She Wrote, The Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers, The Law & Harry McGraw, Empty Nest, Law & Order (probably his most well known role, as Detective Lennie Briscoe), Homicide: Life on the Street, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Disney’s House of Mouse, & several guest appearances throughout the years on other shows that include Kojak, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, Tales from the Darkside, Simon & Simon, The Golden Girls, Who’s the Boss?, & many more.
Evidence of Faith:According to a Washington Post interview/article about Jerry & his Law & Order character Detective Lennie Briscoe, Jerry himself explains that his mother of Polish & Lithuanian descent raised him in the Catholic faith (his father was Jewish), & that this helped him to connect with his character in a special way.An old Boston.com article also confirms this, as does John Anthony Gilvey’s biography on Jerry titled Jerry Orbach, Prince of the City: His Way from the Fantasticks to Law & Order.

Known for: Tony Award winning actress, singer, producer, & podcast host, she has had a very long career working on television & in theater since the age of three, & she is probably best known for her role as Tina Cohen-Chang in the hit television series Glee. However, most of her work is in the field of musical theater. As an actress, she has appeared in Broadway musicals such as The King & I, Spring Awakening, Hair, The Wedding Singer, & Waitress. As a producer, she produced the Broadway revival of Once On This Island & Be More Chill. She also appeared in Lady Gaga’s music video for her song “Marry The Night” & Katy Perry’s music video for “Swish Swish”. She also is a major supporter of various charities, with a major example being in support of charities that help ocean awareness & conservation.
Evidence of Faith:According to a Broadway World article about Jenna’s success, it mentions that she was raised Catholic, & that her Jewish sounding last name comes from her adopted paternal grandfather, who was Jewish. To further prove this, she is an alumna of Holy Trinity Diocesan High School, which is a Catholic high school in Hicksville. This is stated in many sources, such as the New York Post,the website Patch.com,& even People Magazine.
2/10/20 Update: So it seems I made a wording error on this post. Known for: Tony Award winning English actor of theater & film, singer, & comedian, he is best known for his portrayal of The Phantom of the Opera in the original Broadway run of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical of the same name. He started his career in film, & after finding success as an actor he transitioned to the stage, & since then he’s found success in both mediums (though he mainly sticks to musical theater these days). His filmography includes films such as The War Lover, Two Left Feet, The Knack…. & How To Get It, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, The Jokers, How I Won The War, Hello Dolly!, The Games, Hello-Goodbye, Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland, Condorman, Barnum, Once Upon A Forest, & Wall-E (in archive footage from Hello, Dolly!). Besides The Phantom of the Opera, his theater credits also include Black Comedy/White Lies, No Sex Please, We’re British, Billy, Flowers For Algernon, Barnum, EFX, Dance of the Vampires, The Woman in White, The Wizard of Oz, & The Go-Between. Because of his success in musical film & theater, he also has recorded several albums where he sings many beloved classic songs, & he also supports many charities that support the well being of children, & he is the president of The Sick Children’s Trust.
Evidence of Faith:According to his biography on the Michael Crawford International Fan Association website, it states that when Michael was growing up on the Isle of Sheppey, he grew up in a very close-knit Catholic family. Other sources also go on to state that at one point when Michael was growing up, he attended St. Michael’s, which is a Catholic school in Bexleyheath.

For all of you new followers! I work at a Renaissance Festival. This is the character I’ve played for two years now. Her name is Connie O'Donnell, and she’s a pretty cool Irish person if I do day so myself. She may be a traitor to the Irish people (since she works for the English Government) but hey, she has fun with what she does.

This photo was taken on the last day of faire. I borrowed one of the OLD tabbards that the old deputies wore and brought it out to the variety show. Since we needed a variety of Deputies. It was so much fun.

Went to see Wicked with my wife and her family last night. We decided to take her mom for her birthday. It was a blast. Also had the most expensive meal of my life afterwards. A great use of our Saturday!

Постановка спектакля “Хаджи-Мурат” по повести Л. Толстого сыграла ключевую роль в театральной жизни республики Дагестан. Одним из главных успехов спектакля является образ Хаджи-Мурата, созданный с глубоким проникновением в характер и психологию героя Амиром Курбановым. Спектакль “Хаджи-Мурат ” пользовался огромной популярностью не только среди кумыкского зрителя, но и среди представителей других народностей республики. Все лето и осень театр гастролировал с ним по районам. На мой взгляд, образ Хаджи-Мурата в исполнении А.Курбанова наиболее точно отражал все мужество и стойкость поистине сильного характера, чистоту его души, и делал спектакль понятным и дорогим для всех.
