I did some shovel knight fan art of specter knight who is my big favorite without mask and I know that Donovan doesn’t wield a scythe but I liked how the double scythe looked so I ran with it

ellie-valsin you probably didn’t mean to offer me a challenge by mentioning tradition art, but I took it as one anyway. ;) I didn’t know what to draw so I drew Enjolras… which pretty much sums up my entire approach to art.
(And I’m uploading a WIP (the underpainting) because I will in all likelihood screw up the colors on this painting and be too embarrassed to show the finished thing.)
Of course I meant to offer you a challenge. :) Challenges are good for artists. And it has paid off so far, yeah? He’s hot!

otherwise you’ll reorganize your pens 32 times and breathe funny and then give up and run away into the woods forever instead so you don’t get a chance to heck it
Red is a happy colour to the point of almost obscene — quite unlike the others, those more delicate and prone to get lost in transition from traditional to digital.
Here be my regular lamentation about delivering you the turquoise as it is in real life — the colour just won’t be seen by digital media no matter how many shamanic dances with Selective Colour modes one performs to salvage its original lush vibrance.
And then the red. Waltzing right into your face, wild, intense, brightest and radically shameless in how lossless it actually is. Only acquiring deeper hues when brought into digital space.
