Empress Simone was a proud woman–though only fools would dare to call her arrogant within blade’s range–and she enjoyed the finer things in life. Fine wines, pressed from cherries and apples and only occasionally grapes. Fine clothes, with high necks, long sleeves, mid-thigh skirts over intricately detailed trousers, sturdy boots of thick leather. Fine views, overlooking verdant fields and beautiful sunrises.
And, of course, only the finest entertainment.
“Queen Misaki!” she greeted jovially, lifting the gold-rimmed magenta chalice, apple wine sloshing in the colored glass. “You look radiant this morning, come come, let me look at you.”
Empress Simone’s guards–well, two of them, anyway, the empress went nowhere without a full entourage–pushed the conquered queen forward, little force necessary to send her stumbling, thanks to the empress’s specifications.

I actually drew this in 2020 (it was supposed to be a whole line-up of Carrie through the book), but never finished it. Now I’d like to re-draw and update this design, and also come up with some designs for the rest of the characters in the book. For now, I decided to clean this one up a bit more for posting because I still like it!
