#NowReading Constellations by @sineadgleeson and it’s everything I expected it to be. I’m still near the beginning but I can tell I’m in for a journey. The chapter on hair brought up so many emotions within me, I had to let myself cry when I came to the end of it. Looking forward to savouring the rest of the book over the next few days.

I read this book in one long breath. I didn’t know what to expect when I started reading WOMEN and it wasn’t what I expected. A evocative look at romantic obsession, first loves and self-destructive tendencies we all seem to harbour. I loved it. It brought back memories from a time I was less sure of myself. The act of reading this book felt like an overdue ode to the person I was.

Started reading LONG LIVE THE TRIBE OF FATHERLESS GIRLS by @tkmadden yesterday and I can honestly say I wasn’t ready for this kind of searing honesty. You think you have read it all, and then this comes along. The themes are varied and the length and weight of this book is a comforting presence in my life at the moment. 83% of what I read in Proust (now ⅓ of way through second of six volumes) is extraordinary, luminous, brilliant beyond belief. The other 17% makes me want to scream.
