Day 4: Zebra
My worst nightmare is hooves. But this zebra was fun to draw!
Egg-yolk jellyfish are a beautiful jellyfish found in the waters along the West Coast. Hitchhikers like crabs have been found catching a ride inside their bell (the umbrella shaped top)- which is something I REALLY want to see!
This year, every time I feel like I am burning out working on big projects, I take a break and do some silly 30 second blind contours of animals from memory, and it is so freeing, I can’t help but laugh as I try to recall the shape of the animal and feel its form with my hand without looking at what I am doing. I think I did a pretty good job, I am proud of them :) I suggest everyone do this when they feel stuck and frustrated, whether as an artist or not.
Its World Lion Day! I think its super great to have a day to celebrate these truly awesome animals and also to help raise awareness for lion conservation. I wish you all a very happy Happy Lion Day <3

I struggled to make these coyotes look like coyotes! They are like a wolf, and like a fox as well…and a little too much either way pushes them to look off. In the end I’m still not completely happy with the results, but I think this batch is as cooked as its going to get. I may try to make their faces sharper next time around…hmm

I found a new show I’ve been loving called Walks With My Dog (which is available to watch through Acorn TV here in the states).“Six celebrities travel Britain’s diverse and dazzling coastline accompanied by their faithful four-legged friends” is the series summary, and for anyone who knows me its basically MADE for me! I love the beautiful landscapes of the UK, I love dogs, and I *really enjoy* walking. The only downside is that I don’t have a pup to snuggle with while I watch!

Recently some friends of mine went through a scary emergency room situation with their doggie, Gunther. I did this portrait of him looking his regular, regal self and am sending all my love and positive vibes to both him and my friends!!! Get well soon Gunther! ;o)
