#celebrimbor
After hearing that Tom Budge was supposed to play Celebrimbor in the LOTR Amazon Series but was recasted….
I now think that whoever casted Lee Pace as Thranduil needs to be put in fucking charge on casting Celebrimbor and Annatar, I will not be taking criticisms
What the fuck
my fucking god these bitches gay, good for them, good for them
Help Ukrainians with Disabilities, organized by Avery Horne
this fundraiser has not yet reached its goal.
Another highly vulnerable group in situations like these, and another one I will illustrate a Tolkien character, landscape or OC of your choice for in return for a direct donation (by donating directly to the crowdfund link, not through paying me! Just message/reply what illustration you would like, and donate independently).
See pinned post for examples of my work.
The fundraiser was organised by LLM students at the Centre for Disability Law and Policy at the National University of Ireland.
The Ukranian NGO is aware of this fundraiser, see; https://twitter.com/fightforrightua/status/1495781139948134404?t=Z62DmINO5wJgmeT7qP7lfA&s=19

So I stuck my head in the door and I swear he was trying to artificially manufacture a star or something, and I was weirded out, you know? And I said “uh, what are you working on?” because I couldn’t think of what the fuck else to say while I’m staring at this gleaming ring of light hanging in the fucking air over his desk, and he kind of looks at me funny and says “trying to stop the heat death of the universe”, and he’s completely fucking serious. Totally deadpan. And all of a sudden I remembered who his grandfather was and long story short, Celebrimbor might be nice but that doesn’t make him less Fëanorian.
- Ereinion Artanáro Gil-galad, High King of the Noldor East of the Sea, to Círdan the Shipwright, on the forging projects of Celebrimbor of Ost-in-Edhil, Unfinished Tales, the History of Galadriel and Celeborn
I mean, for me personally it’s emblematic of hubris and misplaced trust and misguided loyalty? But I’ve definitely outgrown those flaws. So yeah, let’s slap it on there.
- Tyelperinquar “Celebrimbor” Curufinwion, to Narvi of Khazad-dûm, regarding his family’s star and the Doors of Durin, Unfinished Tales, The History of Galadriel and Celeborn
Atarinkë, Nolaheri and Tyelperinquar, at the fortress in the path of Aglon
Nolaheri was Atarinke’s first friend, they wedded during first age (in my version, Tyelperinquar was born at beginning of first age, after Fëanor’s death). But they met during Years of Trees.
Nolaheri was Valandil’s daughter, one of Fëanáro’s closest friends, renamed Auquermo in the exile. Valandil was an apprentice of Mahtan, where he met Fëanáro in their youth, and his parents were faithful disciples of Aulë. Nolaheri also was a craft woman as well.
They both remained faithful to the House of Fëanor, and followed Fëanáro to Formenos. In Endórë, Auquermo fell, defending Fëanáro during the Dagor-nuin-Giliath.
Fëanor Lives AU: In this version, Auquermo saved Fëanáro from the battle of Dagor nuin Giliath (where he lose one of his eyes). Nolaheri and Atarinkë simply remained friends. Atarinkë never wedded neither had any children.
Fëanorians ranked from most to least likely to survive the Purge.
Maglor: 11/10. Would just emerge from his room after a week-long composition binge to find out that the Purge ended already, not even aware that it happened.
Caranthir: 9/10: Would probs be like Maglor and never even notice the Purge because he barely goes outside, but would probably go to his neighbors to yell about the racket and get caught up in it.
Maedhros: 8/10: Would hack his way through anybody who tried to get at his front door, his fatal mistake is that he steps outside to begin with. Tactical brain may still save his life tho not without injuries.
Amrod and Amras: 5/10: Somewhere in the middle because they’re in the woods somewhere, excellent cover for you…but also excellent cover for every other whack job.
Curufin: -5901/10 He and Celegorm share one brain cell and he has Daddy’s temper, ‘nuff said. Only reason he’d survive slightly longer than Celegorm is because he’s more of a prideful dick than a hack and slash dick.
Celegorm: -5900/10: Gets VERY involved, tries to rob every bank and stir up as much shit as he can, stays strapped but doesn’t know when to quit, lasts longer than most but still dies.
Fëanor: -1,000,000/10: Immediately goes over to try to fight everyone he doesn’t like, dies within an hour.
Celebrimbor: - ♾/10: Is way too trusting, tries to help a “victim” that’s fleeing from an ax murderer. Turns out said “victim” IS an ax murderer and he dies in like 30 minutes.
Stupid Sexy Sauron for @tolkienvillainsweek
- For the most part, Celebrimbor is a pretty heavy sleeper and doesn’t tend to move around a lot. Nightmares are pretty rare
- They usually only occur when he’s been stressed or worried about something. It’ll play on his mind and remind him of things in the past that haven’t gone to plan either
- The poor boy gets nightmares about a whole range of things - even in the first age alone he went through quite a bit of shit
- Most of them involve the last time he saw his parents, his father before renouncing him at Nargothrond, the look of betrayal on his face, and his mother on the shores of Valindor before he made the worst decision of his life
- Celebrimbor gets very clammy when he has nightmares, it’s not very glamorous. He’ll toss and turn as well to the point where it might wake you up
- If it doesn’t and you continue to sleep, Celebrimbor won’t usually wake you up for comfort. In fact, he’d prefer it if you stayed asleep.
- That way he can watch you sleeping peacefully as he calms himself down, trying to match his hyperventilation with your own steady breathing
- It’s rare that just being next to you isn’t enough to lull him back to sleep. If the nightmare is really bad, he’ll cuddle into you a little more
- Even if you stay sleeping, it’s pretty easy to tell the next day if he’s had a restless night. He’ll have dark shadows beneath his eyes and be considerably more withdrawn
- You don’t even need to be awake but at this point it would help if you were. All Celebrimbor wants to do is rest his head on your chest and have you run your fingers through his hair
- He doesn’t really need much verbal reassurance from you, and doesn’t like having a conversation about what the nightmare was about
- There’s nothing you can say that will right the wrongs of the past so there’s really not much point in trying
- You just have to hold him close and love him in spite of all the darkness

Fëanorian Aesthetic/Sensory Associations
I find these sorts of posts really soothing to read and fun to write. Feel free to suggest any other characters for this or places, I really love lists and categories!
I’m also posting this now because I wasn’t able to finish my fic today! I hope this is ok! I actually did put thought into it, I might revise to do some that focus on specific senses later
I did Fëanorian childhood aesthetics here
Maedhros: dawn, crisp air leaving your throat raw, aching muscles, strategic models of landscapes and towers, shadows that do not quite fade, a crumpled letter, the brilliance and destruction of fire, newfound strength, imprints of chains and hands
Maglor: ink drops on musical notation, mournful lullabies, mist over the water, wandering paths, calloused fingers from string plucking, dark hooded cloaks, personal landmarks
Celegorm: dark forests, stories of wild beasts, tooth and claw, sun naps, scraped skin and mud, a leaping hound, mushrooms
Caranthir: Precise organization, neat, tiny handwriting, gray cats, maps and charts, elegant sleeves, hair ornaments, jewelry like drops of blood
Curufin: leather work gloves, hair tightly tied back, drafting paper with smudges, a cherished child’s blanket hidden away,
Amras: sea birds, secret letters, ivy, barefoot in grass, tag games, broken mirrors
Amrod: amber, stacked parchment scrolls, quiet reservations, the coats of horses, symmetrical patterns
Celebrimbor: the sheen of a freshly carved jewel, cypher games, holly, messy braids, hidden nooks for reading
Nerdanel: paint and plaster stained aprons, child’s handprints saved in molds, stone slabs and samples, a simple garden, sketches in the corners of note taking and calculations,
Fëanor: sharp and precise work tools, glass prisms and magnifying glasses, a spark caught in a jar, deep red robes, scribbled out names
