For those of you who aren’t ‘all porn, all the time’ might I suggest you check out my girl’s other, other blog - Suffer me in Silence. There you will currently see a collection of her own photographs taken on our recent trip to Copenhagen (as seen above). They’re rather good.
For those of you who have been asking after our trip - it was terrific. Copenhagen is a really interesting city to visit, the contrast with London being marked. It’s calm, easy going, very easy to be in. The low levels of cars (and high levels of bikes) makes it a great city to walk around, keeps the air clear and the noise down. It appears to contain a great many interesting bars and cafes, and an interesting spattering of shops (it is, mercifully, largely free of international chains).
I’ve come to the conclusion I am very drawn to the Nordic way of doing things, particularly in terms of politics and society. The thing that struck me most about the feel of the place (and this seemed somewhat confirmed by talking to a resident) is the lack of anger. The poor aren’t angry at the rich, the rich aren’t angry at the government, there isn’t an ongoing dialogue of fear and rage. Which would appear to make it a hell of a lot easier to get things done. In a good way. (The lack of anger also lead me to the conclusion - again confirmed by sources - that Denmark has probably produces bugger all contemporary music of any worth) There appears to be a genuine value placed on community, and rather than being about the individual, success appears to be seen as something that should be used to benefit everyone.
Of course, this is an outsiders view based on a brief visit and some discussion with people who live there, but… There’s something in the air that I find very, very appealing. It feels like a more intelligent culture, and made the US and UK political landscape feel very petty and small minded by comparison. I was also pleased to discover how little they care about what the UK and US do.
But… I’m still me, so I must finish with this: The girls. My god, the girls. Now, admittedly, I have a weakness for tall, willowy, long haired, blondes, but my god… I have never seen so many beautiful girls in one place before. I could have fallen in love a hundred times during my visit. I’d never be so anal as to keep track of such a thing, but if I had a top ten most attractive girls I’ve ever seen I think most of that list would now be made up of Danes. My god, such beauty…

Dateless on Valentine’s Day? Well, I can say that you’re not alone and obviously, you’re not the only one. It is not necessary to have a date. So what if you’re dateless? So what if you’re single? It was never even mentioned in any law that each one of us is required to have a date on that day. Right? On the contrary, if you really wanted a date so badly, you can just date your friends or even your family. Just not that person you call “special someone” because obviously, you don’t have one. :P
Hey! Don’t be depressed just because you don’t have a Valentine date. It isn’t that bad. Yes, sometimes, you get kinda envy when you see couples, especially guys who give flowers, chocolates, and whatsoever to their girls on their dates, monthsaries, anniversaries, Valentine’s Day, and in many other occasions (and girls being sweet to their guys) because you also want to feel what it’s like to be in their position; to have, and be a lover yourself. Yeah, I know. I get that feeling too sometimes. But that doesn’t mean you have zero love life and you’re loveless! Well, maybe for now. Don’t think like it’s the end of the world for you just because you’re single, dateless, and doesn’t have a “special someone” this coming Valentine’s. Ugh. Don’t over-react. Don’t pressure and stress yourself too much on those things. You’ll get older and have wrinkles (or worse). Just kidding. Just don’t let yourself be mistaken by Mr. WrongforMr. Right(orMs. WrongforMs. Right). :)
Just let things be for now. Time will come. Who knows? Maybe next Valentine’s Day, you’ll have that “special someone” already. You’ll finally get to know what it feels like to love, and be loved by that “special someone” you’re longing for so long. Remember, everything worth having is worth waiting.;)

Happy Valentine’s Day to all my lady friends out there. Sadly, I won’t be spending Valentine’s Day with a special someone this year, unless Taylor counts as that special someone. She is pretty special. There is a poodle I have my eye on however. Her name is Tess and I met her at my agility class. She is one beautiful puppy. She has yet to see past my goofy appearance and get fixated by my charm though.
However, to try to change this, I was on my best behaviour today. Taylor even helped me look extra nice. I think my tie brings out my eyes. I look pretty spiffy if I don’t say so myself. I even have a box of chocolates to present to Tess. If that doesn’t capture her attention, I don’t know what will. Wait… us dogs can’t eat chocolates… I think Taylor is trying to sabotage our relationship. Gosh, some people just can’t handle others being happy.
