We fail to give yourself time - wide and free. We tend to measure our day and life with rulers and clocks. We give ourselves a day to finish a project, a week - to transform our relationships or heal trauma but we’re so hard with giving ourselves time. 

To give yourself time - it’s when you don’t know where that’s going to, you completely let go of tension you tend to put yourself in or allow other people, the system a lot of us get stuck, to do that - and let yourself and your expressions be and develop naturally, in alignment with internal and external cosmos. Like seasons or the birth of new stars.

We all need just time, that mystical mixture of space, things, events and our unique being when we and cosmos, cosmos and we move together. So we always come where we need to come, at time when it’s supposed. We stop experience pain because of the gap between our authentic self and our expressions developed through following artificial time, we arrive at the moment, free and naturally, 

like the Fool - tarot card for today.

The April Tarot XIII. Witches Sabbath: My Luck - My Blessings Four of Cups. This was a puzzling card for me at first but the more I sat with it the more it seemed plausible. There is an ongoing issue in my life which a friend continues to bring into my daily life. I have given clear boundaries and explanations, but they are continuously ignored. The explanations part is unusual for me because I tend to be a because I said so person and don’t usually feel compelled to explain myself so I feel giving one demonstrates regard for this person, their feelings, and I feel continually disrespected by the unending discussion of an issue with which I was clear I was finished. I asked, “Why does this person continue to involve me in their issue?” I drew what should be a celebratory Three of Cups. I rarely read reversals but in this case the card is definitely in detriment. Person A sees me as part of a threesome in this situation, and has a vision of an unhealthy competition that involves me. I try to escape because I don’t wish to share energy or space with the participants but my friend enjoys the idea of a threesome in which they are the fulcrum and the balancing force. My friend sees three people- their self, me and the third person, as a grouping and is addicted to the thrill of the created drama. I wish to be left out of it and am losing patience with it. An ill dignified Three of Cups indicates drama, addiction, jealousy, and unhealthy competition to me. My words, my feelings and my boundaries are being ignored and as much as I have true and deep love for my friend I am finding myself not wanting to interact because of the ignoring of my boundaries.

The April Tarot XII. Reminders II: I am strong, I am enough. I don’t know how many times I have looked in the mirror and it has lied to me. Or I have lied to myself and the hapless mirror simply reflected that back to me. As I grow older I understand better that any reflection that isn’t strong, capable, and competent is not the truth. As for the Eight of Cups, I never lost anything that was really mine anyway, and the walking away from the false pretenses has always served me better. I like the duality of these two 8s in my reading, which also reflects my life path number. The symmetry of the sideways eight, an infinity symbol, feels right.

The April Tarot Challenge XI. Reminders I: I am beautiful, I am love. These poignant cards are the embodiment of these emotions, and I have to remember that beauty doesn’t go away just because I am heartbroken. Grief can’t steal my joy, only mute it for a moment. The April Tarot Challenge X. Where has my path shown true growth this year? Queen of Pentacles - I have always identified this as “my” card in any deck, and I take this as a sign I am becoming ever more me. I am enjoying my home life more and more and I am becoming more and more financially solvent as I both have ideas and then implement them. The implementation has always been my weak suit but I am getting much better at it.

#inspiringapril 2018 Day 13- Why/where do I lack inspiration? Why would I not draw the thirteenth trump on Friday the 13th? Death- I have never gracefully moved through transitions. I have to be drug most of the time, kicking and screaming and clinging to the familiar, even if it’s familiar garbage. The looming towers in the background remind me of the Twin Towers of New York City, and the news cycle I sometimes find myself so caught up in whole days, even weeks can go by and I have been so wrapped up in things I can’t really affect that I haven’t done the things that I can- my work, care for my circle so that the waves of compassion and community can hopefully emanate throughout. I need to practice just surrendering and focusing on what I can do and be.

#inspiringapril 2018 Day 12- My key ingredients for an inspiring day- I chose to lay three cards down because of the use of the plural ingredients, and also because I believe the magic happens in the interaction of the cards. So I have Ace of Wands - Seven of Pentacles - Ten of Wands. The Ace is easy, inspiration seemingly from on high. All I have to do is receive. The first thing I see on the Seven of Pentacles is the dog, which yes, my dog is my best buddy and I heart him. The Seven interacts with the Ten of Wands to reinforce something that I have long known holds true for me- The Muse doesn’t come at a whim but I call her by putting my behind in the chair and fingers to keyboard and doing my work. I am responsible for my quantity of work. I have to let the Divine be responsible for the quality, a notion I am not altogether comfortable with but my comfort matters little.

I was just shuffling cards, a kinetic activity to soothe my worried mind. I am, as I always am, pained by the absence of writing in my life, and I wonder why write when all the benefits are intangibles while my life is chock full of things I need to be doing with tangible benefits. Am I even meant to write? These two cards fairly flew out of my hands as I was working myself into an angsty state. The Ambition itself is the Sign. #aprilfoolstarotchallenge Day 15- In a deep, smoky voice, smooth as molasses, the Devil croons, “What do I fear about myself that can become a source of power?” The Chariot- whoa, Nelly, where do I begin with this card? Immediately I am struck that a symmetry and mirroring exists between the specific imagery and colors of these cards. In the Devil I see myself as one of the chained figures, subject to dark whims outside my control. In the Chariot, I am the driver, and I am the one who subjects the beasts to my whims. I fear being controlled, but I also fear the power of taking control. I display a true aspect of Libra as my ascendant in often just walking a line to the beat of my own drum, choosing neither to follow nor lead. I go back a couple cards to my lack of making decisions and this reading reflects that even more strongly. Then I consider that the Chariot is my life purpose card, and I know that at times I feel fearful of my destiny, because to embrace it means no going back. Somewhere along the way I forgot to do what I love. Life has become subsistence- work, eat, sleep too little, do it again. My iPhone helpfully tells me how many hours a day I average using it (lots of downtime in my work) and I don’t want to type the number but if I have that much time to look at Facebook and Reddit I have time to write, time to read, time to cast cards. What I need most right now is Love. How I get it it is by changing my approach. The result is a time of inner healing even if the outward appearance does not change.
