❝It was true that Tom Riddle was conceived under a love potion and thus he would grow up with the inability to love another and it was true that he didn’t love Esrom Trelawney; she didn’t love him either. Their marriage was nothing more than a vow that bonded them together, tied his power to hers and vice versa. But at one point they did love each other, deep down, that was long ago back before their relationship was devastated by Tom Riddle’s perverse need for power and immortality. It was true that Tom Riddle could’ve loved Esrom Trelawney and she could’ve loved him but he loved power more and he would stop it nothing to live forever. It was tragically true that any chance for them to love the other died in nineteen-forty-six alongside Tybalt Riddle. Any chance that Tom Riddle had at becoming the most powerful wizard in the world or becoming immortal had died that day too. It was ironic that the one thing that could have saved Tom Riddle would lead to his downfall. It was true that Tom Riddle and Esrom Trelawney could have loved each other but instead they only ever ended up killing each other in many different ways.❞
