Hello, everybody! Welcome to the 2022 oc pride challenge! Before we start, I must say this; randomestfandom’s helped with this challenge as the planning began months ago, but this is the LAST time Maddie will have anything to do with this blog or these challenges. I have now enlisted the help of people I consider much more trustworthy and welcoming for future challenges; @reyskestis and @juliaswickcrs. Now let’s get onto more fun things, the actual challenge… after the rules;

Summary: After being found on the street and saved by Alfred Pennyworth, 7-year-old Maverick never expected him to take him back home and was accepted with open arms by the very people who lived there, the Waynes. BOOK POSTERS: part two || nothing gold can stay
Aurelia Black, had come out of the Triwizard Tournament a winner and survivor alongside the famed Harry Potter. Dealing with not only the loss of her dear friend but the return of Lord Voldemort as well, Aurelia is holding everything together with a piece of thread and it’s on the verge of snapping. She’s not sure just how much longer she’ll last but once she takes a look at the new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, she knows it’ll take a miracle for her to make it to the end of the year. And if she’s not going to make it through this year, you bet, Aurelia will take that pink toad down with her.
Everything has changed, Aurelia has changed and she’s afraid that she’s too far gone at this point and once that thread snaps, it’ll be too late for her. And she supposes this is oddly fitting, considering her name and what it means — the sun-faced star, the golden one — perhaps Robert Frost was right when he wrote Nothing Gold Can Stay. The main book is called MAKE THEM GOLD it is set during Goblet of Fire, it’scompleted. Then there’s the direct sequel called NOTHING GOLD CAN STAY and that is almost completed but so far there’s only sixteen chapters published, the rest are in the drafts. There’s also a prequel that’s set in the same universe called WATCH ME WHILE I BLOOM but that’s on hold at the moment because of writer’s block.
This series can be read on AO3 which is my main platform but it’s also cross-posted on Fanfiction,Net & Wattpad. I will post the links to the series and books down below for you to check out.
THINGS TO NOTE BEFORE READING: this series contains triggering subject material so be sure to read the tags and the warnings at the beginning of the stories so you know what each story entails! These books are not beta read/proof read first so there is quite a lot of spelling mistakes I try my best to proofread each chapter before I publish them but sometimes mistakes slip past me, my eyes move faster than my brain a lot of time. I take constructive criticism but please be nice about it!

The two voices continue to bicker as Isla opens her eyes. She searches the room for the book in question, finding it a few metres away. It’s against her better judgement that she crawls from behind the sofa to where the book lies, carefully dusting off the glass and looking at the cover. Written there with fading marker are the words ‘Madam Mim’s Guide to Marvelous Magic’.

ENTRY FIVE: BROKEN MIRRORS / ao3|ff.net
Lisian is a model example of a prince. Any king or queen would be proud to have him as their heir, and he can see that pride on his parents’ faces whenever he uses what they’ve taught him. It makes him feel accomplished. An image is being built in his head of who he’s supposed to be, who he will be by the time he comes of age.
That image is torn and ripped apart when he is only eight years old.
He’s in his room, reading a book Dawn had recommended to him (“I promise it’s good, it even has pictures!”) when he hears a scream from down the hall. His senses on high alert, he doesn’t bother thinking about the potential danger and rushes out the door, dashing down the hallway in the direction of the scream.

nigel thornberry is still making his nature documentary series, the highest rated in recent times, though his daughter eliza is slowly making a name for herself in the documentary world, dubbed the ‘animal whisperer’ online.
wanting to give her son, heron thornberry, a normal life, she asked her sister debbie to look after him while she made her show, coming back between filming seasons. heron lives with his aunt and his cousins, alaska thornberryanddenver thornberry, and all three attend the same high school.
edited 10/5/20XX: i am starting to suspect that eliza thornberry has the ability to actually speak to animals and that heron thornberry has inherited it. why do you say that? with the way animals flock around them you would think they were disney royalty.

the kingdom of mewni isn’t immune to issues earth has, but the country keeps marching on as it always has, now with three rulers instead of two. star butterfly is the one people see the most, what with tom lucitor often down in the underworld and marco diaz traveling between dimensions to make the world a better place. there is also, of course, their adopted daughter, nova butterfly lucitor-diaz, the apple of their eye.
esteemed guests of mewni include vixen pony headanddasher pony head, the children of princess pony head and two of nova’s best friends. they are often seen in mewni, hanging out and/or escaping the watchful eyes of their many cousins.
it’s common for mewni to have a visitor from earth in the form of rafferty ordonia, the son of janna who has an interest in the magic he hears so much about. the four of them are often together, running amok.

Aesthetic Series:Aileen Donoghue
Aileen Donoghue has always had an easy life since she was born, a loving family, friends who would do anything for her, well that’s what everyone always thought. No one knew what was going on behind the doors of the family home, no one noticed that the older Aileen and her younger brother Ryan got, the less their parents were seen at home. The only ones who noticed were Aileen’s best friends, James, and Blaine, they had noticed that it wasn’t normal what was happening, but Aileen didn’t want it to be known so she made them promise that they would say nothing to their respective parents and that her grandparents were going to fix everything. But she was lying as she neared the end of junior high, she realized that they couldn’t go on living the way they did and she had to ask for help. So she did the one thing she had promised herself she would never do and contacted her big brother Ciarán who had his life in New York and was starting his career. The latter, when he learned what his brother and sister had been through since his departure, put his career on hold and returned to Lima to take care of them. For the next few years, the young man cared for his brother and sister, taking them with him when he received an offer to star in a movie or a role on Broadway. Often James and Blaine accompanied them, it was even because of him that the three discovered that they wanted to be on the stage of Broadway and the West End, seeing him on stage Aileen had understood that she was like him and that her life would take her to New York. It was because of this passion for musicals that she will meet Rachel at singing lessons and through her Noah, since the two went to the same synagogue. Noah became one of her good friends from this moment on, their friendship compared to the one he had with Rachel will continue in High School, since people had nothing against her in contrary of Rachel. When she became a freshman at William McKinley High School, she was lucky enough to be categorized as someone you don’t want to bother. People knew that if they tried to do to her what they were doing to those they considered nerds, she would fight back and it would not be pretty. It was this position in the school hierarchy that will allow her to have the friends she really wanted and keep the most important people in her life. When Rachel asked her to enter the Glee Club with her because they needed more people, she accepted wanting to please the one who was her best friend and to have one more asset on her summary when the time comes to choose where to go after high school. Choosing to be a member of New Directions will change her and bring to the surface everything, she was hiding from the world, if she had known this was coming, she would have done anything to refuse Rachel’s offer. But she had accepted and was going to live with the consequences even if it meant breaking down.
